Chapter 358: Chapter 351: Two Teams Reunite
"What are you rambling about?" Luo’er turned his head to look at her, somewhat incredulous at his own ears. Usually, when he was with other girls, it would be a good thing if Tangmo didn’t get jealous. How could she voluntarily give up today?
"I’m serious!" Although Tangmo lowered her head, her tone was very firm.
Luo’er looked at her blankly, and at last, he couldn’t help but laugh. Then he asked, "Moumou, do you mean that in your eyes, I’m just your private possession and I can be freely given to someone else whenever you’re willing, right?"
"No, that’s not what I meant!" Tangmo lifted her head, eagerly explaining.
"Have you read too many novels? Can love also be handed over to others?" Luo’er asked.
"But, but I really dare not be with you. Because, because I don’t know when I might fall ill again and hurt you. I can’t forgive myself for that. I’d rather hurt myself than hurt you!" Tangmo looked at him, her tears uncontrollably streaming down. Her small face was wet with the brilliant traces of tears.
Seeing her appearance like rain-laden pear blossoms, the anger in Luo’er’s heart disappeared. He sighed gently, then slowly walked in front of her, squatted down to wipe away the tear marks on her face, and then gently said, "Isn’t this good? We both care for each other. Isn’t this what love should look like?"
Seeing his gentle demeanor, Tangmo covered her mouth and nose, then knitted her brows and started sobbing again, "Why are you so good to me? I’ll become more dependent on you. I’m so childish, lazy, ignorant, and I have a mental illness. I’m not worthy of you at all. You are a high and noble elf while I am nothing but a humble dwarf. Whenever I look up at you, I feel even more insignificant..."
"What silly things are you talking about," Luo’er reached out to gently take her small hand, and then gently stroked it, "Everyone grows from being childish to mature. Nobody is mature from the beginning. You recognize your mistakes and accept punishment, rather than trying to shirk responsibility through coquettishness or tantrums. That alone proves that you have matured."
"As for your illness, I’ll find a doctor to treat you. Don’t lose hope and just submit like this." As Luo’er spoke, he wiped away the tears on her face again.
"What high and noble, humble stuff are you talking about, I wonder what’s going on in your head all day," Luo’er looked at her, continuing in a gentle voice with a smile, "You were the noble one, and I was the humble slave. Don’t you remember, Miss Audrey?"
After hearing his words, Tangmo paused a bit, then burst into laughter, wiping her tears, and said, "You still remember that!"
"Anyway, you have improved a lot. Compared to the you from a year ago, you have made great strides. Don’t deny your progress this easily. I’ll also continue to help you grow." Luo’er said with a smile.
"Thank you, Luo’er," Tangmo spoke, passionately opening her arms to hug him, resting her head on his shoulder, saying sincerely, "It’s great to have met you, Luo’er."
Luo’er didn’t refuse her contact, and the two just hugged each other quietly for a while. It was a long time before Luo’er gently pushed her away and looked at her, "Do you feel better now?"
"Yes, I feel better!" Tangmo rubbed her eyes, then spoke smilingly.
"That’s good," Luo’er sighed lightly, then said, "Just stay here, I’ll go find a doctor for you."
"Alright!" Tangmo nodded her head, then obediently sat on the bed, without the previous sense of desolation.
After taking a glance at her, Luo’er finally turned around with peace of mind and left the confinement room. Tangmo’s temper is quick to come and go. She was just down moments ago, and now she’s actually humming a little tune.
Walking along the corridor, Luo’er quickly ran into Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang, with Murong and their group following them.
"Luo’er!" From within the crowd, a joyful exclamation went out. Immediately after, Shangguan Jiu hopped and skipped to Luo’er, then excitedly grabbed his arm.
"Shanguan Jiu?" Seeing her show up, Luo’er was genuinely surprised.
"What did you call me?" On hearing Luo’er’s call, Shangguan Jiu’s face fell instantly.
"Err," Luo’er pondered a bit nervously, then ventured to say, "Jiu’er?"
"I thought you had forgotten me!" Hearing her nickname, Shangguan Jiu smiled again.
"How could I," Luo’er smiled awkwardly, then looked curiously at her and others, asking, "What brings you guys here?"
"To help you!" Shangguan Jiu replied happily.
"Help me?" Luo’er didn’t understand for a moment.
"The Chief has a new assignment, so he sent us to assist you, and at the same time, it’s a training opportunity for us." Murong stepped forward to explain.
"Oh." Luo’er nodded his head, clueless about what Lin Wei was planning.
"Is Moumou still in confinement?" Cheng Ziang asked.
"Of course, she has to be punished if she made a mistake." Luo’er answered as if it were natural.
"No need for that, we have a mission, we’re on the move soon!" said Cheng Ziang.
"What? We just got back." Luo’er said in some confusion.
"I can’t help it, it’s the arrangement from above. Murong and the others are already here, I reckon we’ll have to set off soon." Cheng Ziang shrugged and said.
"Luo’er!" A voice came from the end of the corridor. Li Si hurriedly came running over, then stopped in surprise when she saw the others, "So everyone is here, hurry to the conference room and stand by. The boss is already waiting for you there."
"I understand!" Luo’er nodded, sighing involuntarily. Just having returned, they hadn’t even had time to catch their breath before they were being sent on a mission again.
"Is that girl Tangmo still in the confinement room?" Li Si asked.
"Forget it, let her out." Luo’er waved his hand, saying helplessly.
He had originally intended to give Tangmo a small punishment, to teach her a lesson. But now, as soon as the door was closed, they had to let her out again.
"Well, I’ll go and release her, you guys hurry over!" With that, Li Si turned and left the group.
"Luo’er, long time no see!" Murong stepped forward and greeted him with a smile.
Luo’er looked him up and down, then nodded and responded with a smile, "Long time no see."
"This time our squad is to join your Advance Team, and we will be at your disposal, don’t give us a hard time." Murong said jokingly.
"What are you talking about? The captain has always been good to his own members." Before Luo’er could speak, Hu Daoke was the first to express his dissatisfaction.
In his eyes, although Luo’er appeared young and was not as tall as he, he was the person he respected the most. Luo’er was versatile, able to take care of his team members and command calmly. He really couldn’t think of anyone else more suitable to be captain than Luo’er.
"They’re just joking, you better say less!" Perhaps noticing the awkward expressions on Murong and Luo’er’s faces, Cheng Ziang clapped Hu Daoke’s shoulder and steered him towards the office.
"I don’t care, no one can say anything bad about the captain!" Hu Daoke grumbled indignantly.
"Your members really respect you a lot." After an awkward moment, Murong laughed and said.
"He’s just a bit rash and doesn’t know how to speak, don’t mind him." Luo’er said.
"No problem, I’m not much better!" Murong laughed and mocked himself.
"Let’s go, the instructor is still waiting for us in the conference room." Luo’er turned his head and said.
"Yeah, let’s go!" Murong nodded and called for his companions to follow Luo’er towards the conference room.
Just as they walked into the conference room, a strong smell of alcohol filled the air, and they saw Yalunte, drunk and staggering, about to toast Wang Xu. Faced with this old fellow, Wang Xu was helpless. Seeing the group come in, Wang Xu quickly signaled, "Get him out quickly! Who let him in?"
"Such a disgrace!" Looking at Yalunte’s disgraceful appearance, Cheng Ziang couldn’t help but shake his head and muttered quietly.
"Oh..apprentice is here!" As soon as he saw Cheng Ziang, Yalunte lit up as if he’d taken a sober pill.
"Just look at yourself!" Cheng Ziang looked at him with disgust. Despite being master and apprentice in name, most of the time it was Cheng Ziang who took care of him outside of teaching.
"It’s okay, we’re here to have a meeting, right?" Yalunte sat up straight, then turned his head and asked Wang Xu.
"Drunk people don’t have the right to attend meetings, get out!" Wang Xu said coldly.
"I’m not drunk, I won’t say anything during the meeting, okay?" Yalunte waved his hand, insisting on staying.
"You’re really unbearable. You just went to Earth once, and now you’re taking advantage of it." Wang Xu shook his head and disdain and then signaled everyone, "Let’s all sit down and start the meeting once everyone arrives."
Before long, Li Si brought in a teary-eyed Tangmo, accompanied by Baiyue who had disappeared earlier. But for some reason, Baiyue seemed off, her face clouded over, looking just as she did when they first met.
Once everyone was present, Li Si took the initiative to sit opposite Wang Xu and began to act as secretary. Wang Xu looked around and then said, "Now that everyone is here, let’s start the meeting. This time our superiors have given us an urgent mission. The Advance Team must find the Summoner who opened the Otherworld Gate at all costs, and bring him back. If we cannot bring him back, kill him!"
