Chapter 1635: Chapter 1628: Gold-Slicing Divine Weapon

"Manor Lord, you’re bleeding." Huayu Ting revealed a faint smile, the tone of her voice laced with mockery.

"Hmph, it’s just a minor scratch. Nothing worth fussing over. Speaking of which, I suppose the Young Patriarch’s inner strength must be nearing depletion by now?" Wuting Yan sneered coldly, retorting without reservation.

"Thank you for your concern, Manor Lord. If you doubt it, why not step up and test whether I am truly unable to fight any longer?" Huayu Ting spoke with the same confident smile.

Wuting Yan naturally dared not step forward again. His hand was already rendered useless, a glaring weakness exposed. If he overexerted himself any further, he might truly lose the use of his hand entirely.

Conversely, he also surmised that Huayu Ting couldn’t be in great shape either. Wuting Yan knew the force behind that previous strike well. Without expending a significant portion of his inner strength, a Jiedan Realm Huayu Ting couldn’t possibly have achieved such an effect on a Golden Core Realm opponent like himself.

However, the Wuting Clan clearly hadn’t gathered such a large force just to watch him fight.

The over three hundred individuals they brought were all skilled fighters, most of whom were at the Jiedan Realm. Though still no match for Huayu Ting individually, their sheer numbers could compensate for that gap.

That said, since they had come knocking on Huayu territory, the Huayu family’s soldiers were no pushovers either. If a conflict broke out between the two sides, the visiting Wuting Clan would almost certainly be at a disadvantage.

Thus, a battle of wits was acceptable, but a physical brawl was not.

Wuting Yan, relying on his Golden Core Realm cultivation, had hoped to leverage that level of strength in a battle of words. Yet, to his chagrin, he suffered a minor yet public setback at the hands of Huayu Ting, leaving him with grievances he could not voice.

From this point on, he certainly wouldn’t take matters into his own hands. Instead, he would rely on the people under his command.

Of course, sending everyone at once was out of the question; otherwise, it would indeed become a physical conflict. In that case, the Wuting Clan would undoubtedly face significant losses.

"The Young Patriarch is both resourceful and skilled, truly a talent without peer. This old man is in awe, but..."

Wuting Yan began with flattering words, but his tone shifted suddenly as he prepared to stir the pot. "I have heard that the Young Patriarch broke through to the Jiedan Realm at an early age and is a master of the Dual Dao. It is often said that masters of such caliber are unstoppable, even against a thousand troops. Might the Young Patriarch grant this old man a glimpse of such prowess?"

"Hmph!"

Huayu Ting coldly snorted, detecting the implication in Wuting Yan’s words. His initially expressionless face now bore a trace of disdain.

His gaze swept across the group of robust men behind Wuting Yan. Each of them was at the Jiedan Realm, their auras imposing and domineering. If they truly attacked together, while Huayu Ting’s cultivation might outmatch theirs, even he couldn’t contend against so many adversaries at once.

These men were armed, clearly not planning to fight bare-handed. If they all charged at once, Huayu Ting’s inner strength would surely be insufficient to sustain him, and defeat would almost be inevitable.

Yet despite all this, Huayu Ting still resolved to take them on. Not because of reckless pride, but because he had the support of the Advance Team.

Huayu Ting knew well that if Luo’er and the others decided to leave, he could do nothing to stop them. Conversely, if they chose to stay, he could do nothing to drive them away.

As such, the crux of this tangled situation lay in the attitude of Luo’er, the so-called "Saint."

Luo’er’s stance was clear: she didn’t want to leave; she wanted to stay at Bicheng Mansion. As long as that fact was certain, Huayu Ting felt reassured.

He knew that even if he were to lose in the end, Luo’er and her crew would never look on indifferently, allowing him to be captured by the Wuting Clan.

They had the strength to protect themselves, and thus, they also possessed the strength to help him. After all, the Advance Team had a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator among them—an unquestionable powerhouse.

With such a powerhouse present, even if all of Bicheng Mansion and the Wuting Clan’s forces joined together, they still wouldn’t be enough to handle a Nascent Soul Realm expert.

Huayu Ting could still vividly recall the devastating feeling of being attacked by a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator—that soul-piercing agony. Even someone like him, accustomed to a life on the edge, couldn’t help but shudder at the memory.

Having thought this through, Huayu Ting’s smile grew wider. Yet, because it was a cold smile, it carried an unsettling air.

"Thank you for your praise, Manor Lord. This humble one may not be extraordinary, but handling a few insignificant pests shouldn’t be a problem. Why not all come at once? It would save me some time," Huayu Ting remarked, smirking confidently.

"The Young Patriarch’s arrogance is truly insufferable." Seeing his smile, Wuting Yan’s expression darkened.

Though Wuting Yan had carefully calculated Huayu Ting’s situation, upon seeing that confident grin, his own confidence began to waver, causing his mental rhythm to falter.

The calculations couldn’t be wrong. Huayu Ting definitely didn’t have enough inner strength to withstand an assault from so many experts simultaneously.

But that smile—what did it mean? Had he miscalculated? Or could Huayu Ting have some hidden trump card?

Wuting Yan’s gaze shifted to the Huayu family’s soldiers on the opposite side. These troops showed no signs of preparing for an attack, indicating that Huayu Ting didn’t plan to escalate the situation from a battle of words to a battle of arms.

Feng stood in the back, watching the unfolding developments. Hearing that Huayu Ting intended to take on the Wuting Clan’s cultivators alone, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of worry.

After deliberating for a moment, Feng twirled her sword deftly. The Kedal metal weapon, engraved with the character for "Feng," glistened ominously under the sunlight.

"Master, catch!"

With a shout, Feng hurled her weapon toward Huayu Ting.

Startled by her call, Huayu Ting hesitated momentarily before turning around and catching the tossed weapon, gripping it firmly by the hilt.

"This is the Gold-Slicing Divine Weapon. May it aid you, Master," Feng said.

"Much obliged."

Huayu Ting smiled faintly, nodding at Feng in acknowledgment. He then turned his attention to the long blade in his hands.

The Kedal sword he held was long and straight, its edge forming a sharp angle, radiating a sense of unyielding beauty.

The sword’s weight was just right—neither too heavy nor too light—sitting comfortably in his grip. The blade itself gleamed with an otherworldly and dazzling brilliance under the sunlight, compelling him to reach out to touch it.

"Master, no! You mustn’t touch the blade with your bare hands!" Feng exclaimed in alarm.

"Understood!"

Heeding her warning, Huayu Ting retracted his hand.

His instincts had been correct—after all, the destructive power of Kedal metal was no joke. It could punch holes through tanks; how could mere human skin hope to resist?

"Well, well! Little Fengye actually lent her weapon to Huayu Ting. This should be interesting to watch."

On the city wall, Hu Daoke exclaimed, binoculars in hand. A schadenfreude-laden grin spread across his face.

With this divine weapon in hand, Huayu Ting felt newly emboldened. He turned the sword in a reverse grip and took a few steps forward. In a tone tinged with sarcasm, he casually declared, "So, will you all come at once, or should I take you down one by one?"

"Huayu Ting, isn’t your tone a bit too arrogant?" A furious shout came from the restless crowd.

"Arrogant or not, let’s settle it with our blades." Huayu Ting replied icily.

"Superior Lord?" The group collectively turned to Wuting Yan with anxious eyes.

"Since the Young Patriarch insists, then let us oblige!"

Though unsettled, Wuting Yan decided to test the waters. What if Huayu Ting’s confidence was merely a bluff?

Upon receiving Wuting Yan’s directive, the eager warriors wasted no time. Gathering their inner strength and brandishing their weapons, they charged fiercely toward Huayu Ting.

"The Gold-Slicing Divine Weapon, eh..."

Huayu Ting took a deep breath, circulating his magical energy. Twirling the blade once, he leapt forward, propelled by the erupting surge of energy.

He advanced headlong into the onslaught. At the moment of collision, a dazzling burst of light erupted as blade met blade, sending forth a barrage of sparks. The ceaseless clanging of metal against metal reverberated in the air.

Before engaging, Huayu Ting had expected the weapon to be exceptional. Yet, he hadn’t anticipated just how extraordinary it truly was—so much so that even he couldn’t help but gasp in amazement.

Traditional metal swords and blades shattered instantly upon contact with the Kedal blade’s edge.

What shocked Huayu Ting the most was how effortlessly the weapon moved. There was no sensation of resistance when clashing with other weapons—or rather, no other weapon could even offer resistance.

Wherever the blade traveled, nothing could withstand its advance. Everything in its path was cleanly cleaved apart.

Due to their cultivation system, East Continent cultivators placed less emphasis on weapons compared to their Western Continent counterparts. As a result, they rarely inscribed runes or applied magical enchantments to their armaments.

Consequently, the weapons of the East only boasted physical offensive and defensive capabilities, unlike the dual physical and magical properties of Western armaments.

This discrepancy meant that Kedal metal weapons, which struggled to gain traction in the West, became unmatched treasures upon reaching the East.
