Chapter 1611: Chapter 1604: Patricide
"I am here!" Accompanying his call, a black silhouette appeared silently behind him, responding coldly.
"Go, eliminate everyone who knows!" Huayu Tong commanded harshly.
"Understood!" The Shadow Guard nodded and disappeared again like smoke.
"Master, about the Second Young Master..." Uncle Yu tentatively asked.
"Go, bring that unfilial child to me," Huayu Tong demanded loudly.
"Master, keep your voice down, quietly, quietly, let’s handle this internally," Uncle Yu soothed.
"Right, right, an internal resolution, go make arrangements immediately!" Huayu Tong, having calmed down from his agitation, nodded approvingly.
At this moment, Huayu Ting had no idea what had happened but felt an uneasy premonition. He felt that it had been too long since he last visited and was constantly ill at ease.
As soon as he returned home, he received a message from the servants to go to the villa halfway up the mountain, where the Patriarch wished to see him.
The villa on the mountainside was not Huayu Tong’s residence, so Huayu Ting was puzzled as to why his father wanted to meet him there.
It was already evening, and Huayu Ting walked up the steps to the mountainside, through the courtyard gate, and into the hall.
This place was the ancestral shrine of the Huayu Family. Although the main shrine had been moved to the mountain’s peak, this place was still a part of the shrine, and it was rare for people to reside here.
Entering the spacious hall, the interior was brilliantly lit. Huayu Tong stood with his back to him, hands behind his back, gazing at the rows of ancestral tablets.
"Kneel!" Upon hearing the deliberate footsteps of Huayu Ting, Huayu Tong, without turning around, commanded coldly.
Huayu Ting knelt without hesitation, noting that after he entered the shrine, the servants had shut the doors and moved away from the shrine, closing the gates of the villa.
"Do you know where you went wrong?" Huayu Tong, still with his back to him and without turning, asked.
"This child does not know," said Huayu Ting, startled inside, yet he replied in a feigned composed manner.
Upon hearing his answer, Huayu Tong suddenly spun around, staring intensely at Huayu Ting.
There was a silence of about ten minutes between father and son; the air grew so still that Huayu Tong could hear the faint crackling of the candles.
Then, Huayu Tong slowly walked to a stout pillar and pulled something from behind it.
Seeing the person in that instant, Huayu Ting’s pupils dilated, and he found himself momentarily breathless. It was none other than Fei Yu, his eldest son with Huayu, who was only eight years old, Huayu Yun.
Huayu Tong dragged Huayu Yun by the arm, brought him before Huayu Ting, then placed his hand on the child’s crown and asked, "Do you recognize this brat?"
"I, I..." Huayu Ting stammered, unable to utter words amidst a disorder he had never shown, no matter how perilous the situation he faced before.
Huayu Tong quietly observed his son’s reaction, slightly furrowing his eyebrows, then he looked at Huayu Yun and asked, "Brat, do you recognize this man?"
"Don’t recognize!" Faced with his father close at hand, the young Huayu Yun displayed calm beyond his years and shook his head resolutely.
"I’ll give you one more chance, who is this man!" Huayu Tong suddenly burst with rage, grabbed Huayu Yun by the arm, lifting him up and questioning loudly.
"No, don’t!!" Huayu Ting wanted to cry out instinctively, but his rational mind forced him mute.
Agony made Huayu Yun burst into loud crying, completely ignoring Huayu Tong’s questioning. In a fit of rage, Huayu Tong applied force with his right hand, and a crisp crack sound was heard as Huayu Yun’s tender arm was brutally broken.
Huayu Yun cried out in pain, blood flowing down his delicate arm. Huayu Ting’s eyes widened as the blood from Huayu Yun’s arm spilled, and so did his heart bleed.
Yet, at that moment, he fell into innate cowardice. Although he wanted to do something, he was paralyzed, kneeling weakly in place.
"Speak, who is he, what is he to you, you unfilial offspring!" Unable to hear the answer he wanted, Huayu Tong became extremely infuriated and once again grasped Huayu Yun’s other intact arm tightly in his hand.
"I don’t know, I don’t recognize, waaah!" Amidst crying and shouting, Huayu Yun remained stubborn, refusing to reveal his father’s identity no matter what.
"Still being stubborn!" Another despairing crack was heard as Huayu Yun’s other arm was likewise crushed by Huayu Tong.
He threw Huayu Yun to the ground, right in front of Huayu Ting. Huayu Yun looked up at his father close at hand, his tearful eyes flashing with immense grievance before lowering his head again.
Huayu Ting’s mind went completely blank. He suddenly remembered the instructions he and Fei Yu had given their children.
"Never tell anyone outside that your last name is Huayu. And never tell anyone that your father is Huayu Ting?"
"Why?"
"Dad is a peerless hero who doesn’t want others to know his whereabouts. You must not talk carelessly about it; otherwise, Dad will be very troubled."
"Dad is a peerless hero?"
"Of course!"
"Then can I be like Dad in the future?"
"Of course, you can..."
Huayu Ting calculated everything but forgot to tell his own child that there are evil people in this world.
"I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I..." Facing his son’s pain, Huayu Ting empathized deeply, trembling on the ground, unable to stop his tears.
"Ah!!!" Another hoarse cry of agony. Huayu Tong directly crushed Huayu Yun’s shin with a stomp, his leg bending grotesquely at the bottom.
"Enough, enough, let go, I’ll say it, I’ll say everything, please no more..." Huayu Ting couldn’t hold back any longer and broke down crying out loud.
"I’ve always believed in you, my son..." Although he had his suspicions, when he heard Huayu Ting’s confession, Huayu Tong was still stupefied.
He bent down to grab Huayu Yun, his hand spread open clutching Huayu Yun’s head, lifting him from the ground and hanging him midair.
"He, he..." Looking at his son hanging in the air, almost lifeless and on the verge of losing his breath, the words Huayu Ting wanted to say were suddenly choked back.
"Such a monstrous offspring must not be spared!" Huayu Tong said, exerting force with his fingers, piercing them straight into Huayu Yun’s skull.
Huayu Yun, already lacking the strength to struggle, faced this deadly blow with only a slight convulsion of his body, his eyes widening slowly losing their luster.
Huayu Ting watched, dumbfounded, as his son died before his eyes, especially as his body hung limp, powerless. In an instant, he felt as if a piece of his brain had been removed, leaving him incapable of thought.
The body which he had struggled to hold up once again became limp, he knelt weakly on the ground, gazing hopelessly at the scene before him.
Watching his son who had died, the memories of their family flashed before Huayu Ting like a slideshow.
"Father would have liked him too, after all, he is his grandson..."
"Patriarch..."
"My husband, actually, I really want to tell you that the Patriarch would not like him. Absolutely do not let the old Patriarch see him, I beg you..."
.....
After a long silence, Huayu Ting suddenly cracked a smile for no apparent reason. But as he smiled, he began to wail.
"I’m sorry, so sorry, Father, it’s my fault, I was wrong..." Huayu Ting slowly bowed to the ground, lamenting and weeping.
"I did it for your own good..." Seeing Huayu Ting admitting his fault, Huayu Tong’s demeanor began to soften.
He casually threw away Huayu Yun’s corpse, wiping his hands with a look of disgust, then said solemnly, "You are the hope of the entire Huayu Family. You can’t afford to be careless, nor should you act wilfully. Do you understand?"
"I understand, Father..." Huayu Ting sniffed, forehead pressed to the ground as he spoke.
"Are there any other monstrosities? Take care of them all, don’t leave any loose ends." Huayu Tong spoke seriously.
"There’s, there’s still..." Huayu Ting uttered an indistinct voice.
"What are you saying?" Huayu Tong did not understand his words, so he walked over to him.
"Father..." At that moment, Huayu Ting suddenly called out clearly, but at this time, Huayu Tong was completely unaware of the impending crisis.
"What is it?" Huayu Tong stood still and asked.
"Since the position of Patriarch belongs to me, why not pass it on to me sooner." Huayu Ting said, slowly getting up from the ground.
"How so?" Huayu Tong asked, frowning.
"That would be, to die!" Huayu Ting suddenly lifted his head, revealing a sinister gaze, and with a palm strike aimed at the side, he targeted Huayu Tong’s Qitian.
