Chapter 1419 - 1412: The True Purpose

Chapter 1419: Chapter 1412: The True Purpose

Feng was even more surprised this time, but she didn’t retreat immediately. Instead, she stubbornly swung her blade again.

The Shadow Edict didn’t catch the second strike as she imagined, instead awkwardly dodging the blow. It wasn’t until Feng swung her third strike that he parried with his sword and again blocked Feng’s attack.

As the saying goes, the bystander has a clearer mind, Cheng Ziang, who was watching the fight, noticed something amiss. He saw that Shadow Edict’s sword did not truly clash with Feng’s blade. Her sword stopped a mere one or two centimeters from his, no matter what, not able to hit Shadow Edict’s sword.

Obviously, something was blocking Feng’s saber from chopping down Shadow Edict’s long sword. Moreover, Cheng Ziang noticed that as Feng struck twice, Shadow Edict could only catch one strike and would have to dodge the other exertively, not letting his weapon collide with hers.

So, he shouted to Feng, "Feng, he can only take one of your strikes, maintain a high-intensity attack, try to force him to take both, and you should be able to break his sword!"

He yelled in Tasta language, which Yichuan Ying and Shadow Edict couldn’t understand at all. But even though they couldn’t understand, Shadow Edict felt something was off and began to try to disengage and maintain distance from Feng.

"What are you yelling?" Yichuan Ying looked at him and asked.

"Nothing," said Cheng Ziang, shaking his head and then murmuring in Tasta, "It’s really rare that True Qi can be channeled into a weapon."

After receiving Cheng Ziang’s hint, Feng intensified her attacks and constantly tangled with Shadow Edict, not giving him a chance to break free.

She thrust her long sword, and once Shadow Edict caught the strike, she swung again from another direction. Shadow Edict, unable to dodge, could only block the strike with his left hand, his protective True Qi ensuring that his hand wasn’t cut off by Feng’s Kedal metal blade.

However, taking advantage of Shadow Edict being preoccupied with attacks from both sides, Feng kicked straight towards his chest. Shadow Edict couldn’t avoid it in time and was solidly hit.

Despite Feng’s petite figure, she was not weak in strength. Although Shadow Edict was protected by True Qi, he was still left gasping for air by the kick.

Immediately following, Feng lifted her sword with her right hand and thrust with her left. Her left hand fingers curled, aiming for Shadow Edict’s face, he, overwhelmed by the continuous attacks, instinctively swung his sword to cut her hand.

However, he didn’t expect that his strike would play right into Feng’s hands. Suddenly, Feng withdrew her hand while her right hand stabbing out, her long sword made an upward slash in front of Shadow Edict. A clear metallic clashing sound was heard, and Shadow Edict’s long sword was unsurprisingly chopped off by her sword.

Feng’s strike was very deep, chopping off the base of the sword blade, leaving only a short stub beyond the hilt. With his weapon broken, Shadow Edict was shocked and quickly stepped back to try to disengage.

However, Shadow Edict in panic was more dangerous than a panicked Feng, because the weapon Feng held was much more formidable than what Shadow Edict wielded.

Seeing his intention to retreat, Feng finally stopped opting for an even match and decisively pulled out her Yuanzi pistol, pressing its barrel against her waistline, she fired at Shadow Edict’s waist.

"Bang!"

The Yuanzi pistol erupted with a huge booming sound; accustomed to dangerous shots, Feng wasn’t worried that the bullet might be attracted by the Dantian inside her body, the bullet and projectile accurately reacting and bursting within Shadow Edict’s body.

Shadow Edict let out a scream, retreating turned into being blasted back, tumbling several times, appearing extremely flustered.

Feng quickly caught up to him, stepped on his right forearm, then thrust her long sword without hesitation—the Kedal metal blade accurately piercing between Shadow Edict’s radius and ulna, burying deep into the ground, nailing him firmly in place.

Then, Feng stepped back a few paces, pulled out her pistol again, and aimed at Shadow Edict, who lay on the ground spitting blood and groaning.

"Shadow Edict!" Seeing him in such a distressed state, Yichuan Ying was shocked and exclaimed as she ran over to him.

"Hey, wait, don’t go over there!" Cheng Ziang suddenly realized something and hastily called out to her, but it was already too late.

Hearing Yichuan Ying’s voice, the Shadow Edict, who was wailing, suddenly raised his left hand, and something immediately flew out of his sleeve, directly hitting Yichuan Ying’s right arm.

Yichuan Ying only felt a sharp pain, her surprise at being attacked by one of her own outweighed the pain of the attack. Her steps gradually slowed, and suddenly her body seemed to lose strength, slowly collapsing to the ground.

"Hey, are you okay?" Following closely behind, Cheng Ziang quickly caught her, only then did he notice the steel dart embedded in her right arm. The point of contact was already oozing black blood, which was clearly highly poisonous.

"Shit!" Faced with such a situation, Cheng Ziang couldn’t help but curse.

Seeing that the Shadow Edict still had the ability to attack, Feng, surprised, fell into deep self-reproach. That quickly turned into raging anger. She put away her pistol, quickly rushed to the Shadow Edict’s side, drew her long knife, and then chopped off his left hand with one strike.

The Shadow Edict let out a painful moan, but Feng showed no mercy. She stepped on the Shadow Edict, pinning him to the ground, then swung her knife again, severing his right hand as well.

"Good, well chopped!" Hu Daoke, who rushed to her side, kicked away the Shadow Edict’s severed hand and couldn’t stop clapping in approval. Accustomed to bloody scenes, he felt no discomfort at Feng’s actions.

Cheng Ziang slowly laid Yichuan Ying down on the ground, then pulled out a dagger, tore off a piece of her skirt, wrapped the cloth around the steel dart to pull it out, and then tightly bandaged her arm with the cloth strip to prevent the poison blood from spreading through her body.

By now, Yichuan Ying had fallen into a semi-conscious state, her lips turning dark, her body spasming intermittently. Faced with such a helpless situation, Cheng Ziang became somewhat angry, and without turning his head, he roared, "Old Hu, find out what poison it is, where is the antidote!"

"Understood!" Hu Daoke nodded, stepped on the Shadow Edict’s arm, squatted down, grabbed his ponytail, and through gritted teeth asked, "Bastard, what poison did you use on your young mistress? Where is the antidote?"

The Shadow Edict didn’t speak but looked at him with scorn and let out a strange laugh. Feeling mocked, Hu Daoke’s temper was not so mild; he grabbed the Shadow Edict’s hair and slammed his face into the ground, causing his nose and face to swell, and a mix of saliva and nosebleed to flow all over the ground.

Yichuan Ying lay on the ground, her eyes wide open, breathing rapidly, her body starting to break out in a cold sweat. Cheng Ziang cleaned her wound while gently comforting her, "It’s okay, it’s okay, there won’t be any issues."

He used the Kedal metal dagger to cut open Yichuan Ying’s wound, then washed it with cold boiled water from his water bottle. Yichuan Ying, with her uninjured left hand, clutched at his sleeve, her mouth opening and closing, but her speech was unclear.

"What are you trying to say?" Seeing her actions, Cheng Ziang bent down, leaning close to her ear to listen to her words.

"It hurts, it hurts..." Yichuan Ying uttered an indistinct yet pitiable voice.

"Okay, okay, it’s alright," Cheng Ziang comforted her while taking out an emergency medical pack from his bag, found some painkillers, and popped them into her mouth.

"Don’t breathe through your mouth, swallow the medicine, be good," Cheng Ziang softly instructed.

Yichuan Ying struggled to swallow the pill, but her symptoms did not noticeably improve. Seeing her strong will to live, Cheng Ziang felt somewhat powerless and, in frustration, turned his head and bellowed, "Old Hu, have you figured it out yet?"

"This son of a bitch isn’t saying anything," Hu Daoke looked up to reply.

"You take care of her; I’ll make this guy talk!" Cheng Ziang stood up, gritting his teeth.

"Control your anger, don’t kill him. Otherwise, Yichuan Ying might be beyond saving," Hu Daoke said as he stood up, patted Cheng Ziang on the shoulder as he passed by as a reminder.

"I won’t have to lift a finger," Cheng Ziang, shaking with anger, took out a pendant and ordered Feng, "Hold him down, don’t let him move."

"Yes!" Feeling guilty, Feng did not dare to meet his eyes, simply responding with a lowered head.
