Chapter 1209: Chapter 1202: Concerns for Luoya

The Omnidirectional Elevator went straight into the elevator shaft and then reached the designated floor, opening the hatch. Normally, the Omnidirectional Elevator would only open up to the elevator shaft, the remaining journey down the corridor had to be walked.

The two of them pushed open the door to their home, which was quiet and seemingly empty. Luo’er’s home was decorated with a girlish flair, reportedly overseen by Luoya. Luo Qishan didn’t really interfere, letting her do as she pleased, and if it weren’t for Luo’er stepping in just in time, the whole place would have turned into a pink cave.

"The Principal isn’t home?" Tangmo sat down on the sofa and looked around as he asked.

Although they had transferred to Sheng Hua Academy, they still referred to Luo Qishan as the Principal.

"He might have gone to the senior center," Luo’er shrugged, then promptly put on an apron, ready to start cooking.

"Luo’er, do you cook all the meals at home?" Tangmo asked.

"Oh, I cook when I’m home. If I’m not, we have a maid who does it. You know Luoya, that foolish girl, she can even bite her own tongue while eating, so don’t expect her to cook," Luo’er said as he busied himself in the kitchen.

"Don’t talk about your sister like that; no wonder she doesn’t like you," Tangmo said with a smile.

"No worries, we’re used to arguing. If we don’t quarrel occasionally, it feels like our relationship might fade," Luo’er shrugged as he spoke.

"Ah, I really envy the relationship you have with Luoya," Tangmo said, his face expressing envy as he leaned on the armrest of the sofa.

"What’s to envy? If you were my real sister, I’d treat you the same way," Luo’er said.

"How would you treat me, by saving the worst of your temper for your family?" Tangmo asked, half-smiling.

"It’s not like that; I’ve told you, the occasional arguments with Luoya help strengthen our relationship, it’s not about taking out negative emotions from outside on family," Luo’er explained.

"I wouldn’t want to be your real sister; how would I have you all to myself then?" Tangmo said, squinting his eyes.

"You shouldn’t say things like that so directly; it can lead to misunderstandings," Luo’er said, feeling his ears heat up a bit.

"You’re always respectful to outsiders but casual with family. I just don’t like that attitude. When will you treat me the same way you do your family?" Tangmo complained.

"Family matters require careful consideration..." Luo’er said hesitantly.

"Sigh, you were born in the 22nd century, but it feels like your thinking is stuck in the 21st century, conservative and stubborn," Tangmo couldn’t help but sigh deeply.

Shortly after, they heard some commotion at the door, followed by the appearance of a youthful, pretty young girl in the hallway. She looked worn-out and irritably kicked off her shoes, then came into the living room barefoot.

"How many times have I told you, arrange your shoes properly, don’t go around barefoot," Luo’er’s voice came from the kitchen.

"Don’t boss me around!" Luoya said weakly, and as she entered the living room, her eyes met Tangmo’s.

"Long time no see," Tangmo greeted with a smile.

"Why is it you?" Luoya rolled her eyes as she spoke.

"How do you talk to a guest like that?" Luo’er’s voice chided once again.

"Guest, schmuest. We’re old acquaintances, no need for formalities," Luoya sighed heavily and then lay down on the sofa.

It must be said, over the years Luoya’s Chinese had improved rapidly. Although she still had an accent, she had mastered the basic grammar and logic of conversation, allowing her to express complicated ideas.

Tangmo looked at Luoya, who lay opposite him, dressed in a cool knee-length skirt and a blouse, revealing glimpses of her graceful figure.

Luoya was different from Luo’er. She and her mother, Nina, were nearly identical, as if cast from the same mold with slight adjustments. From her appearance to her hair color, she was almost a duplicate of Nina. If it weren’t for her striking heterochromia, Tangmo might have mistaken her for Nina long ago.

Luoya’s eyes were large and bright, always catching attention. From the very first glance, one was deeply drawn to her large eyes. It was precisely because of this that her heterochromia was very noticeable, practically becoming her signature feature.

Initially, Luoya was actually very self-conscious about her heterochromia, even wearing a mask on Earth. However, after following her doctor’s advice to remove the mask, she was surprised to find that instead of rejection, others saw it as celestial, and so she gradually got accustomed to having heterochromia.

Some media companies had once approached her to do a photoshoot, specifically giving her colored contact lenses to balance her heterochromia. However, after the photos were published, there was strong dissatisfaction among the audience, and there was a unanimous call to restore Luoya’s heterochromia, believing that this was the truest representation of her beauty.

Thus, in the days that followed, Luoya neither needed to wear an eye patch nor contact lenses and was free to show everyone her heterochromia without any psychological burden. The only thing she needed to worry about were the fervent fans who might appear at any time.

Just as Luoya lay down and hadn’t yet caught her breath, she saw Luo’er wiping his hands as he came out of the kitchen and approached her.

"What’s the matter now, putting on a sour face?" Luoya stared at his expressionless face and asked.

"I need to discuss something with you," Luo’er said as he sat down next to Tangmo, who immediately hugged his arm.

"You guys are getting married?" Seeing their affectionate demeanor, Luoya asked curiously.

"No, it’s not that," Luo’er hesitated for a moment, quickly blushing as he pushed Tangmo away.

"You’re actually pushing me away..." Tangmo muttered.

"Don’t be touchy-feely in front of others, I’ve emphasized that many times," Luo’er said, shaking his head reluctantly.

After taking a deep breath, he continued with a serious expression and gestured for Luoya to listen, "Sit properly, listen to me."

"What is it?" Luoya paused, somewhat unwillingly slid off the couch, and then sat up straight, straightening her skirt.

"I heard you’ve recently gone to shoot a TV series?" Luo’er asked.

"Yeah, you just found out?" Luoya shrugged and responded honestly.

"So, you’ve already entered the entertainment industry," Luo’er said.

"What’s the entertainment industry?" Luoya’s response even made Tangmo cover her face.

"So, you don’t even know what the entertainment industry is, and you’re already deep in it," Luo’er’s expression became even more serious.

"Why, what’s there to be angry about?" Luoya looked at Luo’er’s increasingly stern expression and asked nervously.

"Have you finished shooting your part?" Luo’er took a deep breath, slightly easing his expression as he continued.

"Almost, just some loose ends left..." Luoya thought for a moment and responded.

"Any problems encountered?" Luo’er asked.

"What kind of problems are you referring to?" Luoya asked, perhaps in her mind, problems meant harassment from fans.

"For instance, being misled into shooting scenes with nudity, kissing scenes, and bed scenes," Luo’er continued to inquire.

"What is a bed scene?" Luoya naively asked.

"Clearly, we cannot let her continue mixing in there," Luoya’s naive response even made Tangmo unable to watch.

"Listen well, after you finish shooting these scenes, you are not allowed to shoot any more TV dramas or movies, all of it is forbidden, including photoshoots. Your only zone of activity is Shenghua Academy, and at the farthest, you can go to the downtown area but definitely not allowed to go to other cities," Luo’er pointed his index finger, speaking earnestly.

"Why, why do you have to control me?" Luoya’s face fell immediately.

"You are a student, and a student should do what students do, study well and learn knowledge. A woman without talent is without virtue. You in your current state, would be sold and still help count the money for others. Grandfather is also getting senile, allowing other people to mishandle his granddaughter like this," Luo’er sighed and said angrily.

"What’s so good about studying, it’s enough to be average, I haven’t even fully experienced life yet," Luoya frowned and said discontentedly.

"Studying is certainly useful," Tangmo interjected, "You have little social experience right now; you still need to study more to elevate yourself. Otherwise, you are just barely managing to society, let alone the complicated entertainment industry. Your brother is doing this for your own good, just trust him, he won’t harm you," she advised.
