Chapter 109 - 105: The Withdrawal Plan

Chapter 109: Chapter 105: The Withdrawal Plan

Just at this critical moment, the door was violently burst open, startling the taller gunman into immediately pointing his gun at the doorway.

Luo’er, fully armed, walked in from outside the door. He looked around and quickly noticed Tangmo next to the short gunman.

"What are you doing here?" the taller one barked.

"The Chief ordered you to help at the school gate. They’ve broken in." Luo’er calmly stated.

"The Chief?" The tall gunman was one of the few who noticed the peculiarity of Luo’er’s words.

"I mean the boss, aren’t you planning on going?" Thankfully, Luo’er didn’t panic, he just rephrased and continued to question.

"What are you here for?" The tall gunman still had his gun pointed at Luo’er.

"I am here to take over your task." Luo’er answered.

"On what basis?" This time the short gunman questioned.

"It’s the boss’s order, are you planning to debate it with him?" Luo’er scoffed.

The tall gunman and the short one shared a glance, the short one gave a ’tch’ sound, left Tangmo, and walked over to Luo’er.

"He will join you in assisting the fight at the school entrance. Just go with him!" Luo’er said, pointing at Cheng Ziang, who was like an ice mountain, hiding outside the door.

The short gunman noticed the long blade on his back, so he pointed at it and asked, "What are you carrying on your back?"

"Booty!" Cheng Ziang replied coldly, maintaining his usual icy demeanor.

"Where did you get it?" the short gunman asked with interest.

"You want it?" He looked at both of them, sneering.

"Of course!" The two men exchanged glances and nodded eagerly.

"Come with me. There’s not much left!" Cheng Ziang sighed and turned to signal them.

Watching the two fools follow Cheng Ziang out, Luo’er knew that these two idiots were most likely not going to make it. He didn’t rush to find Tangmo right away but stood at the door, cradling his rifle, quietly waiting for Cheng Ziang’s return.

In no time, Cheng Ziang glided back to him like a cat and posed a casual question without turning his head, "Dead?"

"Killing idiots doesn’t count for merit!" Cheng Ziang sighed.

"Watch the door; I’m gonna find Tangmo!" Luo’er whispered, then lifted his head and walked straight towards Tangmo.

"Stop right there!" The lecturer on the podium again tried to stop Luo’er, but had a blade pressed against his neck by Cheng Ziang. He noticed the traces of blood on the blade, indicating that it had just killed someone, but he had no idea who Cheng Ziang had just killed.

Luo’er came up to Tangmo, looked down at her, and said, "You, come with us!"

Tangmo stared at the gunman approaching. Ready to fight with her life, she froze at the sound of the gunman’s voice. Although the man in front of her had deliberately raised his tone, she clearly recognized a familiar feel in it.

"Luo’er?" Tangmo whispered.

Luo’er didnt reply to her; he just turned his serious gaze away. After confirming him as Luo’er, Tangmo couldn’t help but let a smile slip, and she let go off the dagger she had been gripping.

"Mm-hmm!" Luo’er coughed a warning, then coldly said, "Follow us!"

"No, please..." Facing Luo’er, Tangmo exhibited a completely different attitude from before. Trembling, she showed a fearful look and pleaded with him.

"Stop talking, come with us!" Luo’er didn’t dare to meet her eyes. He turned his head and grabbed her arm.

"Ouch..." Tangmo said weakly.

Luo’er hesitated for a moment and instinctively loosened his grip. When he looked at Tangmo, he saw her triumphant smile, which made him shake his head.

Watching the two of them flirtatiously ’kidnap’, Cheng Ziang sighed lightly and coughed to remind them.

Snapping out of it upon Cheng Ziang’s reminder, Luo’er promptly began to pull and drag Tangmo. He didn’t care about her tumbling and crawling, and tried to forcibly drag her out of the classroom.

"Stop!" At this moment, Feliz once again stood up and loudly roared.

"What do you want?" Luo’er turned back to ask. He did not expect that Feliz would stand up for Tangmo. This girl had always been at odds with Tangmo, but now, when threatened, she chose to speak out rather than stay silent like most students.

"Take me instead! I’m the eldest daughter from the Uzistas family, much more valuable than this newly-noble girl!" Feliz gritted her teeth and decisively declared.

"I’m not interested in you!" Luo’er said indifferently, then turned around to leave.

"Let her go!" Seeing Luo’er’s attitude, Feliz, desperate, pounced on him.

Luo’er reacted quickly, pulling out the pistol from his leg holster and pressing it against Feliz’s forehead. He glared at Feliz and snarled, "Get lost if you don’t want to die!"

"Feliz, thank you for standing up for me, but I’ve accepted my fate." Tangmo did not react, she spoke calmly. From her face, Feliz could see a hint of despair.

All this was thanks to Tangmo’s acting skills. She was touched that Feliz had stood up for her but at the same time irritated by her interfering in her relationship with Luo’er.

"You..." Seeing Tangmo’s indifference, Feliz finally gave in. A look of helplessness crossed her pale face, and she collapsed uncontrollably onto the floor.

Acting swiftly, Luo’er quickly put away his gun and pulled her up, placing her on a nearby chair instead of letting her collapse directly onto the floor. He vaguely remembered that Feliz’s foot injury hadn’t healed yet, so he instinctively took a look at her foot.

"Please, let me go." Tangmo timidly reached for Luo’er’s arm, seemingly begging for mercy, but actually urging him.

Looking at her, Luo’er sighed secretly, then dragged her toward the exit of the classroom. Once they left the classroom, Cheng Ziang slowly removed the knife from the instructor’s neck and turned to the crowd, threatening, "All of you, stay put right here. We are just outside, anyone dares to step out, we will kill them!"

After speaking, he victoriously spun his knife and sheathed it, then turned around to follow Luo’er out. On his way out, he even closed the classroom door behind him.

Once outside, Tangmo immediately grabbed Luo’er’s hand, looking at him quietly. Luo’er exhaled, and then said, "Miss Audrey, can’t you act a little more naturally?"

"Because it’s Luo, I instinctively let my guard down." Tangmo replied innocently.

"You..." Luo’er felt at a loss for words and couldn’t help but feel exasperated.

"By the way, Luo, what happened here? Why can’t I use my magic?" Tangmo finally decided to get to the point after a bit of teasing.

"Have you noticed that you can’t feel the flow of magical power in your body?" Luo’er asked.

"Yes, indeed, I have felt that way since before the attack." Tangmo replied with a frown.

"Then there’s no mistake," Luo’er nodded thoughtfully, "These people must have used something to suppress the flow of magic power, forbidding all the magic in the academy area."

"Magic suppression?" This was the first time Tangmo had encountered such a term.

"Yes," Luo’er nodded. He suddenly thought back to what those people had been discussing earlier about a certain item that was key to their operation. Luo’er guessed that this item might be the source of the magic suppression.

With this thought, he said, "I think I know where that thing is."

"So we’re not leaving?" Tangmo asked.

"The school perimeter is already closed off; we can’t get out." Cheng Ziang helplessly shrugged.

"I know there’s a passage to the outside world, I’m just not sure what danger we may encounter." Luo’er added.

"You’re referring to the secret passage in the record room, aren’t you?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"Yes." Luo’er nodded and continued, "Right now, the only path for us to sneak out of the academy is through that secret passage. It is clear that these people have prepared a path for their escape. By commandeering the academy in Earth gear, they probably plan to provoke a conflict between Earth and the Otherworld."

"What’s your plan then?" Cheng Ziang could tell Luo’er had something in mind.

"Let’s first go to the record room. If the source of the magic suppression is indeed there, we’ll destroy it, then leave through the secret passage to foil their plan," Luo’er suggested.

"Good thinking!" Cheng Ziang approved.

"So we’re headed to the record room now to leave the academy?" Tangmo asked.

"Yes." Luo’er looked at her and suddenly asked, "Will you miss it?"

"No!" Tangmo shook her head and smiled, "This way, Luo won’t suffer anymore."

"Thank you!" Luo’er didn’t know what to say, but he couldn’t help smiling.

"Let’s get out of here. Continue to act as our hostage." Luo’er grabbed her arm and said.

"Luo, hug me!" Tangmo said coquettishly.

"Miss Audrey, I’m holding a hostage here, not seducing her." Luo’er said, exasperated.

"You two need to calm down. You’ve been acting up since earlier, worrying everyone can’t notice your relationship, don’t you?" Annoyed, Cheng Ziang finally snapped at them.

Seeing Cheng Ziang angry, Tangmo stopped talking and pouted. Luo’er knew he was at fault, so he grabbed Tangmo’s arm and dragged her toward the record room.

Along the way, they didn’t see many gunmen, or any at all. There was obviously a limited number of them. They had to control academy buildings and hostages while also preventing the academy’s troops from attacking, leaving them stretched thin. There weren’t many additional troops roaming around in the academy.

The trio quickly arrived at this eerie, tall building. There, they finally saw armed men controlling the building’s main roads. They stood guard in pairs, indicating the importance they placed on this building.

Standing in front of this imposing building, the three looked at one another and then walked inside.
