Chapter 1075 - 1068: A Completely Different Mother and Son

Chapter 1075: Chapter 1068: A Completely Different Mother and Son

"You..." Queen Lilith was truly angered this time, clutching her chest in pain as she slowly sat down. Seeing this, the Priest hurried over to help her sit down in a chair.

"Mother..." Seeing the pained expression on Lilith’s face, Nina was momentarily at a loss, only managing to lower her gun and stand there dazed.

"Your Highness, please stop angering Her Majesty. If you have any doubts about my actions, why not ask Luo’er what caused the gods to punish us?" After calming Queen Lilith, the Priest turned and said to Nina.

Nina hung her head, standing still in confusion. After a long while, she finally began to speak slowly, "If Luo’er has to die because of divine punishment, could you really bear to do it, Mother?"

"You care for him?" asked Queen Lilith.

"If Luo’er dies, then I’ve truly lost Luo Chuan forever..." Nina, as if collapsing, suddenly sat down on the ground right where she stood and began to sob helplessly.

Nina had always harbored a deeper love for Luo’er, not just maternal affection. After learning of Luo Chuan’s death, she treated Luo’er as a representation of Luo Chuan in this world as a way to numb herself into believing she hadn’t lost Luo Chuan.

So just like she said, if Luo’er died, then she would truly lose Luo Chuan forever.

Meanwhile, the Advance Team resettled in the same tree houses as before, now tightly surrounded by soldiers of the Elf Race.

Cheng Ziang glanced down and then looked away, shaking his head, "Damn, they’re all armed. Getting out of here just got a lot harder. It really feels like shooting oneself in the foot."

"Actually, I had thought about it the day we arrived. Divine Wood Town, being Tana’s hometown, how could she not set traps for us here?" Luo’er said.

"But you came anyway," Cheng Ziang said, looking at him.

"I wanted to see my mother," Luo’er admitted candidly.

"Well, you saw her, and now it looks like you’ll be stuck here for a while. Enough time for a good mother-son reunion," Cheng Ziang shook his head, saying helplessly.

"You could leave," Luo’er said, "Queen Lilith has me under house arrest in a personal capacity, which only applies to me. You are from headquarters, you can leave anytime you want."

"Ah, good idea, then you stay here while we head to Xia Yue Island!" Cheng Ziang said as he picked up his sword, preparing to gather everyone to leave.

"Alright, enough of that, what should we do now?" Tangmo glared at him, then turned to Luo’er with a worried expression and asked.

"Don’t worry, with Mom here, she’s sure to find a way to help us. That’s also why, even knowing I might be placed under house arrest, I dared to come to Divine Wood Town," Luo’er said reassuringly.

"Auntie is just a princess, not a queen," Cheng Ziang spread his hands and said, "Besides, if she knew your intentions, she definitely wouldn’t help you."

"No, you don’t understand her," Luo’er shook his head, confidently stating, "Mom’s the kind of person who would surely agree if I asked her. To her, family is more important than the state."

"You’ve only been with your mother for a few years, how can you understand her so well?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"Is it strange? The temperament I have now was passed down from her," Luo’er shrugged and said.

"Hard to tell, really hard to tell," Cheng Ziang shook his head, "You and your mother are nothing alike, you both have completely different personalities."

"Oh, godmother’s coming!" At that moment, Hu Daoke, who had been looking out the window, suddenly exclaimed excitedly.

Following his gaze, everyone saw Nina striding towards the treehouse, picking up her gown fiercely as she approached, only to be stopped by the elf female captain guarding the place.

"Move aside, I want to see Luo’er!" Nina said coldly.

"You may see him, but, Your Highness, please do not make it difficult for us..." the female captain said with a troubled look, then stepped aside.

Brushing past the guards, Nina continued her ascent. Her steps were heavy, each one resounding loudly on the wooden stairway.

Upon entering the room where everyone was gathered, Nina looked around and everyone, intimidated by her presence, fell silent for a moment.

"Mom..." Tangmo stammered as he called out.

Nina’s expression softened slightly, then she said expressionlessly, "Everyone, leave. I need to have a good talk with Luo’er."

Her tone was sharp, the kind a senior directs to a junior, not how a host treats a guest.

Facing her demeanor, the people exchanged glances, then nodded silently and walked toward the door.

Watching everyone leave, Nina closed the door behind them, then took a few steps forward, staring intently at Luo’er.

"Mom..." Luo’er blinked, looking at her uneasily while instinctively stepping back.

Nina quickly stepped forward, then grasped Luo’er’s shoulders with both hands, pushing him against the wall, and lowered her head to rest on his chest.

"Luo’er, what should mom do?" Nina asked, her voice trembling as she kept her head down.

"Mom, what’s wrong with you?" Luo’er gently patted her back, asking perplexedly.

"You want to destroy Ilanadale, what should mom do? Should I help you, or should I help Ilanadale?" Nina asked, sniffling.

"Mom, why would I destroy Ilanadale? Who told you that?" Luo’er asked.

Nina sniffed hard, then looked up at Luo’er, her eyes red and sad as she stared into his eyes, then closed them in pain, "The Priest said it, he said it’s the divine will, you will destroy Ilanadale..."

"It was Tana, right?" Luo’er asked.

"So, this is true?" Nina’s body suddenly shook upon hearing this.

"Mom, listen to me," Luo’er said as he grabbed Nina’s shoulders and gently pushed her back, looking at her earnestly, "Do you believe what your son says?"

"Of course," Nina nodded slightly in a daze, then firmly stated, "No matter what, mom always believes in you."

"Mom, it’s not me who wants to destroy Ilanadale, it’s Tana who wants to kill me," Luo’er said.

"Tana wants to kill you, why?" Nina, shocked by his words, stared at him incredulously.

"Because I know some secrets that go against Tana’s will," Luo’er said.

"Secrets? What secrets?" Nina pressed.

"It’s..." Suddenly, Luo’er’s body trembled, his gaze turned hazy, his movements slowed, and his body started to sway.

"Luo’er, Luo’er, what’s wrong with you, Luo’er!" Nina quickly embraced Luo’er, calling out anxiously.

Nina’s cries echoed through the room, and upon hearing the commotion, the Advance Team outside rushed in. Cheng Ziang briskly came to Luo’er’s side, pulled open his clothes to find the Soul Summoning Bell, and vigorously shook it a few times.

Under the effect of the Soul Summoning Bell, Luo’er’s body shivered again, then went limp, and he fell into unconsciousness.

"Luo’er, my Luo’er, what’s wrong with you?" Nina collapsed to the ground holding Luo’er, crying out helplessly.

"He’s just passed out, nothing serious, Auntie, don’t worry," Cheng Ziang said after a quick check, reassuring her.

"What is really going on, who turned Luo’er into this state?" Nina asked, her voice filled with grief and anger.

"It was Tana!" Cheng Ziang said calmly.

"Tana, why, why would she target Luo’er?" This was the second time Nina heard about Tana, and she couldn’t understand why Tana would target her own son, what exactly is that so-called secret?
