Otaku Witch -
Chapter 873 - 873: Battle Begins
"Well, look at this colossal formation; they must really think highly of me."
Dorothy had just withdrawn her consciousness from the already cold corpse of Leviathan. The moment she opened her eyes, she was greeted by the Angel Army arrayed in strict formation before her, which genuinely startled her.
Especially when she took a closer look at the formation and equipment of this Angel Army and recognized its special configuration, she couldn't help but exclaim in her mind.
Subsequently, she began to reflect whether she had pressured Sophia too much earlier, to the point of frightening her into developing a phobia of insufficient firepower.
Though, it was all ultimately of little use.
After all, it was too late. Since the moment the consciousness of Mother of the World entered her Underworld, the victory of this game had already concluded.
Dorothy didn't actually need to fight this Angel Army; she only needed to "buy some time." The rest would be handled by her good sister, who would take care of everything.
"Dorothy, you can come back now. We need to retreat."
As the homebody witch was thinking this, as if intuitively in sync, an illusory figure appeared beside her, speaking to her.
It was Denisha's projection.
By this time, Miss Shepherdess had already settled Mother Superior in the Underworld, and everything else was proceeding as planned. Next, they just needed to tactically retreat.
However, Dorothy thought for a moment and shook her head.
"Denisha, my task is complete. The rest is up to you. Now, it's personal vendetta time."
She said.
The homebody witch wasn't foolish; she had long sensed the peculiarity of this Witch's Night. She had been holding back, out of respect for her good sister, aware that the God King seemed to be scheming something, so she neither dared nor wanted to interfere.
Now, everything was on track, just as she had said, her task was complete. She was finally free and could enjoy the festival game's fun.
Although fighting wasn't necessary, Dorothy felt she should engage. If she simply ran, she would win easily, but her roommate would likely be furious, potentially to the point of being half-dead with rage. In the end, even if she won the game, based on Sophia's character, she wouldn't outright deny her loss but would definitely sulk secretly, puffing her cheeks like a pufferfish.
Indeed, she would be sleepless for several nights due to anger.
To accommodate her troublesome roommate's personality, Dorothy decided not to run, lest she would have to comfort her later.
After all, priorities must be clear. Dorothy wasn't seeking a bizarre adventure or to experience life with a God King sister; she was simply here to help Sophia.
She wasn't very concerned about Denisha the good sister's schemes. Such grand plans were beyond the reach or contradiction of a little witch like her. Hence, helping if possible, otherwise never mind. But her matters with Sophia had reached a resolution point.
Now, it was Witch Student Dorothy's joyful festival time.
"So, my good sister, can I indulge this once?"
The homebody witch turned to Denisha's projection beside her and asked.
Even if Denisha didn't agree, she had already decided to indulge herself. This was just a formality.
Even if it might displease the God King, such a grand figure wouldn't trouble her for this little matter. Moreover, they were dream sisters; surely they wouldn't be petty.
Dorothy thought so in her heart.
However...
"My dear sister, you know, I've never been a magnanimous person. I'm just a humble village shepherdess."
Denisha, seeing through her sister's thoughts, replied in a peeved tone.
"I've told you before, showing such concern for other girls in front of me makes me very unhappy."
Dorothy: "....."
Ah, my dear sister, are you serious? No way, sibling infighting at this time would be so embarrassing, we'd become a laughingstock.
Just as the homebody witch, embarrassed by having her plans foiled, didn't know what to say, Miss Shepherdess smiled and waved her hand.
"Dorothy, you've indeed worked hard these past days. I'm sorry for making you do so many things
you don't like and bear so many unwanted responsibilities. I'll take over from here. Enjoy your festival, my dear sister."
"But you must promise me not to lose carelessly. I'll wait at home for our journey to the stars, and you've promised Mother Superior to be a good child who keeps their word. If you break your promise, don't blame me for not supporting you when Mother Superior reprimands you."
Denisha laughed gently, reaching out to tidy her sister's collar, preparing her for the upcoming battle.
