Otaku Witch
Chapter 832 - 832: 539. King of Calamity Beasts

Sophia sat on the throne in the Central Cathedral, quietly watching the torrential rain outside.

Or rather, the rain could no longer be simply described as a downpour. It was literally a waterfall from the sky, as if the heavens had turned into an endless outlet of water, with flooding torrents pouring directly onto the ground.

A month ago, the accumulated water on the ground barely submerged the bottom of the enormous Noah's Ark, but now, the area had completely transformed into a vast ocean.

Though the stagnant water seemed peculiar, it was as if an invisible force constrained the flow, keeping all the accumulated water confined within the borders of the Glorious Divine Kingdom.

It was like there was an invisible dam at the edge of the Glorious Divine Kingdom, preventing the water that should have flooded the entire world, turning the kingdom—which covered half the world's surface—into a massive reservoir.

If someone stood at the border between the two kingdoms, they would witness a spectacular scene.

An invisible barrier divided the world in two: on one side was a desolate desert stretching miles of yellow sand, and on the other side, a surface ocean several hundred meters above the ground.

One could stand in the scorching desert and look up at the cross-section of the sea, occasionally spotting the frenzied currents and fleeting massive dark shadows within them.

In this Sea of Doomsday, naturally, no normal living creatures existed. The only beings wandering in the ocean, long polluted by the Calamity Force of Leviathan, were the evolving final Calamity Beast Leviathan and its servants and guards—the Calamity Sea Successors.

Those dark shadows in the water were the Calamity Sea Successors.

Originally, they could have been ordinary calamity beasts roaming within the Glorious Divine Kingdom, but when the torrential waters flooded everything, Leviathan's power didn't show leniency just because they were all calamity beasts.

When the flood imbued with the power of the King of Calamity Beasts swept over the land and submerged everything, the weaker calamity beasts would drown instantaneously, then be eroded by the seawater, decomposing into the purest form of Calamity Force to nourish the still-evolving Leviathan.

Those strong enough to withstand the flood's currents and survive tenaciously would eventually succumb to Leviathan's power in the seawater, abandoning their original appearance and gradually transforming into marine creatures.

They would become the servants and minions of the mighty King of Calamity Beasts.

Finally, when the colossal Noah's Ark occasionally shook upon the impact of gigantic sea waves, the Pure White Angel sitting on the throne stood up.

This was an omen. When the apocalypse flood finally lifted the ark of salvation, the final calamity beast would be born, delivering the judgment day to this sinful world.

The current oscillation of Noah's Ark indicated it was about to be lifted by the sea, which was also Leviathan's awakening signal.

Such a massive ark shaking was tantamount to the impact of a high-level earthquake. Though the ark's sturdiness prevented the collapse of structures, it still terrified the mortals onboard, causing a cacophony of screams and curses.

People instinctively tried to seek refuge in open areas, but the torrential rain outside forced them to stay calm.

The rain imbued with Leviathan's Calamity Force meant mortals would die if exposed, and even those with innate talents or lucky ones who survived would undergoing transformation into calamity sea heirs similar to fish people.

In the Papal Palace, Noah swiftly and skillfully issued decrees instructing the clergy under her to reassure the frightened populace. She herself approached the window, her eyes filled with fear as she gazed at the sea beyond the ark.

Although as a mortal she couldn't penetrate the seawater with her sight, her heightened inspiration allowed her to glimpse a terror no ordinary human should comprehend.

She vaguely heard a peculiar sound like thunder mixed with drum beats emanating from the sea. Without needing explanation, Noah instinctively knew that it was the heartbeat of the King of Calamity Beasts.

Soon, various visions appeared before her eyes. In that blurred realm between reality and illusion, Noah seemingly saw a grand underwater city indescribable by human language, filled with architecture both eerie and inexplicably majestic.

A group of indescribable entities—looking like a haphazard amalgamation of various sea creatures and just a glance at them inducing nausea and dizziness—were coiled within the bizarre underwater city, worshipping toward the direction of the central eerie palace.

Inside that palace, a massive dark egg was pulsating.

Finally, a faint cracking sound was heard; fine cracks appeared on the surface of the terrifying egg, signaling that the entity within was about to hatch.

Noah's eyes widened, her reason telling her she should close her eyes and stop watching, but she couldn't control her body. Mesmerized, she stared, wanting to see the appearance of the imminent terrifying existence, but.....
