Only God -
Chapter 64 - 60 Giant Dragon Aus
Chapter 64: Chapter 60 Giant Dragon Aus
Celestial Kingdom.
The Thunder God, God of Prophecy, and God of the Dragon Clan, the three stars who first knew whence they came, gathered at the border of the Celestial Kingdom.
The soul forged by lightning taught the language of the Logos people to the other two Divine Beings, and soon after, They gave each other names.
The Thunder God was called Shan’en, which means rolling thunder.
The God of Prophecy was named Kagawus, a word the Logos people used to describe water that is neither clear nor murky, for to Him, prophecy was both clear and murky.
The God of the Dragon Clan was named Endora, which meant both a covering of dense clouds and the obscuring of the sky.
With this, the true names of the three Gods were settled, and They made a solemn oath to protect each other’s true names for a whole millennium.
They sought to forge a path to establish faith with the earth.
Shan’en was one of the first Divine Beings to awaken; He had seen visions of the past from the Historical Star and thus gained wisdom far greater than before.
In the distant past, that supreme being first bestowed grace, and then in fear, the people called out to God, received rewards, and finally established an unwavering faith unto death.
Perhaps this tale differed from the Logos people’s account; in the eyes of that supreme being, the emphasis was completely different.
However,
this was the myth that Divine King Shan’en saw.
Divine King Shan’en resolved to emulate the story He had witnessed.
Firstly, He would bestow grace upon the earth.
However, this grace was not meant for the Logos people.
The three Gods had already reached an agreement: they would first create their own disciples on the earth and bring down a great calamity upon the Logos people.
Only in dire times would They reveal miracles, select the earthly avatars of the three Gods, and finally erect temples for the offerings to the Gods.
Shan’en ripped open the passageway between the Celestial Kingdom and the outside world with thunder, and the three Gods selected a piece of land the Logos people had never set foot upon where the Prophetic God Kagawus made a prophecy for the beasts of the land.
He said to separate the evil beasts from the good beasts, to let the docile good beasts die first so that the ferocious evil beasts would father kill son, mother kill daughter, elder kill young, turning kin into enemies.
On the first day, for the sake of faith in the people of the earth,
They did just this, causing many beasts in that place to die.
Nearly all the docile good beasts perished, yet not one of the ferocious evil beasts died.
Shan’en commanded the Prophetic God to make another prophecy.
The latter said to the Divine King,
To incite a great disaster among the Logos people, a king must rise from among the evil beasts.
The Divine King agreed and waited for the evil beasts to fight until a king emerged.
On the ninth day, the evil beasts hunted each other, confronting with bared fangs, unaware that all they faced was the work of the Gods, leaving hunger to govern, with parent and child, mother and daughter, elder and younger in chaos.
On the twelfth day, most of the evil beasts died, leaving the rest subjugated; a massive Earth Dragon rose above all, the only one satiated, and became the king of the beasts.
When the time came, the prophecy was fulfilled, and the Dragon God Endora bestowed Divine Power, giving the Earth Dragon wings large enough to cover the heavens, naming it the Giant Dragon Aus.
The Prophetic God Kagawus then prophesied for the Giant Dragon Aus, granting it Divine Revelation, instructing the world’s first giant dragon to destroy the Logos people’s kingdom in a few decades and bring about a great disaster for the people.
And Thunder God Shan’en, the Divine King, granted nothing, waiting until the great disaster befell to bestow His grace upon the humans walking on two legs.
.........
.........
Decades passed in the blink of an eye.
The long lifespan of the Logos people gave Dertulian and Antion sufficient time to find direction.
To seek the direction of God.
Two hundred years prior, Dertulian, as a Hunter, was trapped in a state of confusion and helplessness; now, he had found the true mission to dedicate his life.
Dertulian could feel the power of the past gradually returning to him.
He had tried to question Yarlessto, but his brother had repeatedly made it clear that what was recorded in the history books was the truth.
Dertulian understood that Yarlessto would never reveal the truth to him.
However, even though Dertulian had enough confidence and a very strong sense of mission, finding the direction where God resided was far from easy.
The two of them were like headless flies, bumping around everywhere, hitting walls at every turn, never finding a definite direction.
"Let’s set sail, Dertulian."
Antion came up next to Dertulian and said,
"Retracing the journey that Prophet Al and King Yarlessto set out on in the past, maybe, just maybe, that is the direction where God is."
Dertulian slowly said,
"Without the help of the Unihorns, we cannot sail out to the open sea. You must know, those Unihorns all obey Yarlessto’s command."
Antion fell silent. Logos’ people thrived on the land, while the sea was left to the Unihorns. Over the years, although the Logos people had learned to build ships, those fifty-passenger sailboats could only navigate safely in the coastal waters. Once they went out into the open sea, they would be torn apart by storms.
"Can we, like the Prophet, take a canoe?... No, that won’t do."
Antion murmured in despair.
According to the "Book of Kings and Prophets," Prophet Al and King Yarlessto braved the storm with just a canoe, but at that time, God was still with them, protecting them. Now that God was gone, who would protect them through the storm?
Dertulian paid no attention to Antion, gazing into the distance.
On the land of the Kingdom, the construction of the giant statue of the Prophet, ordered by King Yarlessto, had been underway for many years.
"Think it over, Antion."
Dertulian pointed into the distance and said,
"I am going to where the giant statue is."
Antion suddenly looked up, staring at Dertulian, and said emphatically,
"You go there every day. I don’t know why you care so much about the slaves building the statue. Instead of going there, you should convince King Yarlessto to let the Unihorns accompany us."
Dertulian said nothing and headed straight for where the giant statue was.
In many things, Dertulian was accustomed to being alone.
After becoming close with Antion, the second son of the Prophet was surprised to find that apart from the shared mission to find God, the differences between them were so great.
Dertulian longed for glory, was brave and good in battle, quiet and reserved.
Antion, on the other hand, was contemplative, often talked to himself, and maintained the haughtiness of the priestly class.
He was a pure Priest.
But Dertulian, compared to the priestly life, would rather return to the days when Hunters threw spears.
The site of the statue’s construction was a city-state on the Kingdom Border.
The craftsmen had selected a cliff face as the fulcrum for the giant statue of the Prophet. The statue’s legs rose from the ground, and one-third of its towering body had already been completed. Valuable Brass from within the Kingdom was hammered into foil and adhered to the finished feet.
Slaves carried massive stones, their gaunt bodies drenched in sweat and shivering in the wind. The stones were brought up to the edge of the giant statue through crude ramps and supports, the scent of blood and sweat permeating the surroundings.
Dertulian felt great compassion for the slaves suffering in the Kingdom.
Why?
He was, after all, the brother of the King, the second son of the Prophet, with such a lofty status. Why should he sympathize with lowly slaves?
Dertulian also found himself to be quite peculiar.
He did not know whose influence he was under, but as the years passed, he gradually became more and more compassionate.
Dertulian drew closer to the group of slaves.
Two hundred years ago, the leaves he had plucked from the high mountains, he had always worn on his person, now pressing tightly against his chest.
Perhaps,
In the grand scheme of things, God Will had assigned a mission to this second son of the Prophet, until he established his own great nation upon the earth.
