Only God
Chapter 50 - 46 Answer

Chapter 50: Chapter 46 Answer

God had fallen into slumber.

For the people of Logos, it was as if God had departed.

No one knew when God would awaken—perhaps tomorrow, perhaps the day after, or perhaps the next moment... Of course, it was also possible that by the time all the people of Logos had perished, God would not have awakened.

Al watched as God’s figure gradually dimmed, he heard God’s words, he saw God’s figure move from illusion toward oblivion—his eyes could no longer see God, nor could his ears hear God’s voice.

The old man wept inconsolably, kneeling down powerlessly as his eldest son also sobbed, the father and son supporting each other in their tears.

Both Al and Yarlessto, the father and son, sensed that with God’s departure, their lives had utterly lost a part, differing only in degree.

"God..."

"You have endured so many hardships..."

Al muttered amidst sobs.

No words could describe such a moment.

A hurricane swept through the forest of the soul, God had departed, and all the leaves had fallen.

Grief, panic, helplessness...

Al felt as if the sky had fallen.

Massive clouds moved across the sky, the woods rustled under the sea breeze, tiny waves churned—the darkness was profound, yet the sun would eventually rise, and the forest, after losing all its leaves, would bloom again.

Al and Yarlessto silently departed, neither uttering a word, carefully boarding the canoe, the Unicorn God placed in the boat shining under the sunlight.

The Prophet tightly gripped the broken horn, raising it high towards the sea, naturally, the unicorn emitted a bright light, the seawater parted slowly, and the canoe moved forward slowly.

The boat rocked severely, but Al still kept his lips tightly sealed, gazing toward the departing island. Yarlessto grabbed the canoe’s paddle, turned his head, wanting to say something, but he did not speak.

The canoe quickly left the sea region dominated by Ancient Chaos, the island abundant with berries and flowing with clear springs gradually disappeared behind them, Al stood at the bow of the canoe, intently gazing at the great island on the sea’s surface until dusk fell, and everything became blurred.

Al finally sat down, his hands trembling as he brought them together in prayer, bowing his head.

Father and son immersed in mourning, unaware of when the sky had darkened, the lights of jellyfish already shining beneath the water, blending in with the reflections of stars.

Al felt cold on his skin, and hunger in his stomach, he and Yarlessto started eating the berries brought on board the canoe.

Groups of jellyfish passed over the surface of the sea, their lights fading into the distance, extinguishing from the father and son’s view. The salty scent of the surrounding sea water grew stronger. In the darkness, Al’s tears started anew.

God’s departure felt like it had happened a very long time ago.

He reminisced about these days.

A tough trek, a long journey.

They had first climbed a high mountain, following God’s guidance to the edge of the world, facing Sea Demons, Unihorns, storms... so many hardships, they had all been weathered.

Al’s thoughts drifted away between the waves of the sea.

Suddenly, he remembered the day they reached the summit of the mountain, God appearing behind the clouds.

At that time, he had found the answers about death, and then asked God, how they could triumph over death.

"What doesn’t blame, what doesn’t fear, what doesn’t oppress, what endures forever, what never ends, what triumphs over death."

Al remembered those words, closed his eyes, tears streaming down his aged face, his hands brought together as he trembled:

"Love... the answer is love..."

"Before we were even born, God already loved us."

Yarlessto sat at the other end of the canoe, looking up at the night sky with moist eyes, nearly bursting into tears again at his father’s words.

The waves were parted by the canoe, propelled rapidly by the brilliance of the Unicorn.

"Yarlessto."

Al raised his face and looked at his child.

Yarlessto also gazed at his father, who seemed to have aged a great deal, his eyes no longer bright.

"Yarlessto, my Yarlessto..."

Al’s voice was choked with tears.

When they had embarked on this journey, God had pointed to the boundary of the world and told them,

"In that place, there are some stories that are destined to have witnesses."

And now...

"We witnessed God’s sacrifice."

In this story,

the Prophet and his eldest son witnessed the sacrifice of God.

Logically, God’s love was fully revealed to them.

At dawn the next day, Al and Yarlessto glimpsed land in the distance.

The great flood had still left its mark on the world, Yarlessto keenly noticed that the land had diminished considerably, pale muddy water accumulating in pits everywhere.

Al and Yarlessto were amazed to find that the original land had been submerged by the sea, and they had directly arrived near the Logos Kingdom.

Father and son disembarked, Yarlessto hesitantly looking at the canoe, reluctant to leave it here, yet finding it difficult to take back to the Kingdom.

However, as they walked away, Yarlessto was surprised to find that the canoe stayed steady on the water’s surface, unmoving as if waiting for them.

Al and Yarlessto fully let their guard down, moving toward the direction of the Logos Kingdom according to their memory.

The father and son moved through mountain forests tormented by mountain torrents. The once lush forests had turned into brutally broken trees, the wood either floating on accumulated water or dead in the mud, with no trace of the usual roaming beasts.

Al and Yarlessto walked out of the forest, arriving in the Logos Kingdom, where houses were half-submerged in water, which had now dropped to just below their knees.

However, as they moved deeper into the Kingdom, they suddenly found the water level rising, reaching up to their chests, making it difficult to walk.

At that moment, Al raised the Unicorn, God-given to him, and a pale blue brilliance emerged, gradually parting the waters as damp land appeared before them.

As they moved forward, they gazed into the distance.

Before long, the tall palaces of the Kingdom appeared in their view, along with the Unihorn whales gathered beneath them, their huge bodies gathering vast amounts of seawater controlled by their Unicorn, which did not flood the palace, forming an open area there.

"Impossible, impossible!"

"You are supposed to be the ones sent by the new God! Why do you not heed my command!"

As Al and Yarlessto advanced, they heard an all too familiar voice.

Yarlessto stared at the palace; he saw a man standing at the very top, hysterically shouting.

"Don’t you recognize your God! The new God has bestowed you to me! To rule over all people, to share Eternal Life!"
