Chapter 466: Chapter 406 Where Love Takes Me.......

Everything had ended.

The souls of the Six Gods had been harvested, judged by the Law, and descended into the different strata of Hell based on the severity of their crimes. From then on, the Celestial Kingdom had six unclaimed stars.

Slaier had also broken free from his bonds. As a victim, he had not been deprived of his life by Vina Kana or Mira but continued to exist in the world as the god of lies and deceit.

As for the Primordial Church, with Anos’s repentance and the fall of the Six Gods, the whole Church collapsed from the top down. Pastor Flora couldn’t accept everything she had witnessed and chose to end her own life, her husband followed her in death, and the remaining believers spent their lives in penitence until they were judged after death.

The city beneath the city was destroyed, and those who had lived in darkness for years returned to the light of day. Some could not accept the truth, thus choosing death, while others led some believers to repent anew. Still others formed societies of various sizes, upholding their faith in more secret places, surviving for the time being. Unprecedented chaos erupted within the Primordial Church, but Mira knew that one day, everything would eventually get back on track.

When the scriptures that had been so faithfully believed were now denied, the Primordial Church lost its foundation, and soon perhaps in ten years, a hundred years, this heretical belief in the eyes of the world will slowly fade away into the river of history. As seasons passed, perhaps one day when the last Primordial believer closed their eyes during their final moments, a faith would invisibly turn to dust and come to an end.

Anos had lost the Golden Heart, and even though her body had been transformed by the Golden Heart to possess vitality far beyond ordinary people, how long could one live without a heart?

The joint ruler of the Empire was ultimately at death’s door, and Mira sustained her life, allowing her to remain in the Mortal World for a time.

Anos, who should have inherited the throne of the Danschel Empire, had ultimately left Danschel, that heart-wrenchingly painful place. Henceforth, the Delos Family became nothing more than a fleeting illusion.

She had once harbored a chasm in her chest, and under the white gloves were hands stained with the blood of ambition. In her mind, there once existed grand blueprints for the Empire, but Anos could no longer bring them to fruition and could only make a sighing farewell.

The throne of the Empire was once again vacant, and yet another political whirlpool of blood and banquets ascended the stage of history. Anos, however, had said goodbye to the life of blood for wine, indifferent to whatever happened next.

She was destined to fall, and after death, all the blood she had been stained with would turn into flames that would consume her...

.........

In the blink of an eye, several years had passed.

The Danschel Empire had undergone an unprecedented political purge, and after successive changes of power, the throne finally welcomed a fitting King.

But these events were unrelated to a small town situated on the frontier.

"Anos!"

Mira caught a large, gray-green fish, cradled it in her arms, and ran towards the house standing on the beach. The fish cried and struggled as Mira tightly bound it, not loosening her grip in the least,

"Anos!"

Mira shouted again.

But there was no response from inside the house. Instead, a maid approached cautiously—it was Phibinu, who had once delivered meals to Mira. Her only noteworthy deed in this life was finding two silver coins in a fish’s belly.

"Madam... fell asleep."

Phibinu came forward, speaking in a lowered voice.

"Oh, I see."

Mira also spoke quietly, then suddenly asked,

"Phibinu, how did you know I caught a big fish?"

As she spoke, she lifted the bouncing fish in her hand.

The fish’s tail splashed water, causing Phibinu to step back two paces, her face showing a resigned, wry smile.

When Mira and Anos decided to leave the Danschel Empire, Phibinu followed them, volunteering to serve them. No matter how much they tried to dismiss her, she could not be driven away, and thus the three of them began living together.

They spent two to three years touring the wonderful sights of the world, during which Mira was always full of youthful enthusiasm and vigor, as if she never knew fatigue. Anos, on the other hand, grew tired. So, they settled in a small town on the frontier of the Danschel Empire, leading an almost secluded life.

Mira picked up a piece of wood and knocked the fish in her hand unconscious before handing it over to Phibinu to deal with. Then she ran to the bathroom, started a fire using the Ancient Language, soaked in a hot bath to cleanse herself of the fishy smell, and only then did she cautiously approach the bedroom.

Upon opening the door, Mira discovered that Anos had already awakened.

She looked at the former Emperor, whose eyebrows had lately gained a trace of barely noticeable sorrow, yet her eyes were as captivating as ever, and overall, she appeared to be in good spirits.

Just a few years were not enough to add the marks of time to Anos.

Mira approached the bedside, and the other smiled at her, then kissed her on the forehead.

"Anos, I caught a big fish."

Mira lay on the bed, gesturing as she said,

"Super big."

Anos replied slowly,

"I heard it in a half-asleep, half-awake state..."

Mira nodded and continued,

"You haven’t seen it with your own eyes, only after Phibinu has cooked, you will know how big that fish really is!"

Anos smiled and nodded, not saying a word.

The two fell into a cozy silence, just looking at each other without speaking, as if that was all that was needed.

After a while, Anos said out of the blue,

"I... I may be about to die."

Mira nodded and said,

"I know."

"It’s okay, even if you die, Mira will still be here."

That childlike statement made Anos somewhat melancholic, no matter how much time had passed, Mira was always the same.

"Mira... where will I go?"

Anos spoke,

"To Hell?"

Mira lifted her face, gently grabbed Anos’s hand, and held it in her embrace.

"Yes... Anos."

Upon hearing this, Anos cast her eyes down and said slowly,

"I know... my hands are stained with blood, it’s what I deserve."

No matter how devoutly a person repents, the mistakes made in the past remain as such, and the road to redemption is not so easy. The Heavenly Road is not easy to travel; its path is narrow and filled with thorns, a life of tears and repentance, where the pain you inflict on others comes back upon yourself.

"Anos, I’ll be with you, always with you... You know, after going through Hell, Heaven follows. I’ll accompany you to Hell, and then we’ll go to Heaven together..."

Listening, Anos slowly closed her eyes and said nothing. An indescribable warmth and fatigue filled her chest; she lay in Mira’s embrace, feeling an unspeakable sense of peace,

Mira sat up and gently embraced Anos,

"Wherever you go, I will go."

Anos asked in a weak voice,

"To the place... love will take you?"

Mira nodded earnestly and said,

"Even if it’s down to Hell,

wherever love takes me, that’s where I’ll go."

This girl really had no idea what death was.

Perhaps in her eyes, death did not exist.

Anos thought so, now extremely weak, soon she would bid farewell to the world.

Mira whispered softly,

"Anos, don’t be afraid..."

"Your pain, I will share."
