Chapter 463: Chapter 404: The God of Lady Suffering Has Descended_2
Immediately afterwards, the enigmatic woman spoke calmly,
"I had thought that such rhetoric could only deceive those greedy Divine."
Mira looked shocked,
"What, what?"
The Lady of Suffering pointed to the Path to Divinity beneath her feet,
"This is a path... anchored to the future, the Six Gods used it to anchor Anos’s future divinity, and what I have done is to use it to anchor my future god."
"Mira, did you really think that my arrival was meant to vie with the Six Gods against Heaven?"
Mira’s face suddenly lost its color, and her breathing became rapid.
A truth hidden behind the Primordial Church and the Six Gods was slowly surfacing.
"Why am I here?"
The Lady of Suffering said word by word,
"Just like you, just like the Prophets before, I am here for my god."
As these words fell one by one, the fragments of the Path to Divinity scattered across the starry sky returned to their places,
The Lady of Suffering’s purpose had never been to have the Six Gods reshape the old order.
Rather, it was to use their crafted Path to Divinity to anchor her god from the future.
Even if Mira had not appeared, Anos would ultimately have been unable to ascend the throne.
The Golden Hall would shatter before the Six Gods, the truth would be revealed, and this Path to Divinity would extend to the future.
Mira stared intensely at the Lady of Suffering, who slowly stepped back, standing on the now stagnant Path to Divinity.
"Without the Primordial Will, how could you..."
Before Mira could finish her sentence, the Lady of Suffering raised her head, grasped the Sword of Suffering with both hands, and fiercely plunged it into her chest.
At that moment, countless screams erupted from her body as nearly numerous souls of suffering filled her giant-like body, causing veins to bulge as if laid bare.
Then, the Lady of Suffering’s body spontaneously combusted, and under the pale flames, her body slowly cracked apart, turning into pieces, and began to extend an end for the stagnant Path to Divinity!
Mira realized the danger and hastened to dash forward, but the Gatekeeper Slaier blocked her path, the deceived and tricked Divine doing their best to stop Mira from proceeding.
The Lady of Suffering smiled at Mira, then bowed her head, clasped her hands, and chanted the final prayer, before slowly collapsing backward on the Path to Divinity.
Her entire body instantly shattered into pieces.
The Lady of Suffering used all her remaining strength to forge an end for the Path to Divinity.
As Slaier, entangled with Mira, suddenly fell backward, falling from mid-air and as the black mist around him was drawn away, his eyes, weak but clear, regained a trace of lucidity.
Mira leaped over Slaier, rushing toward the Path to Divinity; she saw the countless pieces laying the steps of the Path to Divinity, section by section.
She kept rushing toward the end, putting all her energy into trying to stop the extension of the Path to Divinity, but it extended faster and faster, increasing the distance between her and its end.
It extended into the starry night, nearly infinitely toward the deepest part of the Celestial Kingdom, the stars fading along the journey; it was like a road with no end in sight, with Mira seeing only the tranquil darkness, as if it swallowed all light.
After what felt like ages, the stars had disappeared, and around Mira, nothing else emitted light; looking around, all was an abyss-like darkness.
Mira gradually felt fear, praying constantly in her heart, her steps unceasing as she sprinted toward the increasingly distant end.
The surrounding darkness seemed to press in, Mira’s breathing rapid, the darkness similar yet vastly different from the Primordial Will; the former was coldly silent, whereas every inch of the latter seemed to hide a despairing sigh, almost as if alive.
Mira kept running wildly, the extension of the Path to Divinity slowing down, misleading her to believe she could reverse everything.
But, the Path to Divinity had already extended to its end.
It was a gate made of bronze.
It was coated in dust, with complex, ancient patterns spread across its surface, beginning to tremble slowly in the dark night, pushed open from the inside out.
As it shook, the floating dust fell like mournful sighs, filling Mira’s ears as if all creatures were grieving at that moment.
The bronze door was pushed open, Mira widened her eyes, trying to see everything inside, but no matter what she saw, everything was unclear, she was clearly opening her eyes, yet she saw nothing, this indescribable feeling brought her unprecedented fear.
As if... she was not worthy to see what was behind that bronze door.
Mira stood frozen on the spot, her whole body trembling with terror, and for a moment, even her thoughts ceased.
Behind that bronze door, in its depth, there came a faint lament,
"Poor Geddesilde, things often don’t go as desired, even for me."
As that sentence ended, Mira felt as if all her senses had been stripped away.
She saw nothing, heard nothing, and could touch nothing.
Mira just perceived, through the darkness, that someone was facing her.
This perception was both marvelous and terrifying.
Behind that bronze door, there seemed to be an ineffable presence.
He approached her, with his whole body exuding humility and mildness, as well as a faint despair, He seemed to come from someone, to signify something in this world.
His voice, unless permitted, was unheard, His face, unless nodded to, unseen,
A sadness seeped into Mira’s heart, impossible to dispel.
She had never experienced this sensation before, in the presence of the Divine before whom the Lady of Suffering spoke.
From His gaze, there was a hint,
A breath charged with despair that all creatures embraced,
The only statement left in Mira’s heart was, "Mourn!"
Her lips trembled as she stammered out a question...
"You... who are you?"
He gazed at Mira, his gaze profound and long-lasting,
"Heidewich."
Mira shivered, astonished that this Divine, mentioned by the Lady of Suffering, did not claim to be any of the Divine, but softly spoke his own name.
This plunged her into a vortex of confusion.
The being seemed to notice Mira’s puzzlement but said nothing, His gaze shifting from her and focusing behind her.
When Mira came to her senses, she suddenly felt an indescribable force from behind, taking her and the Path to Divinity beneath her feet somewhere.
"This..."
Mira was about to say something.
Yet, in her heart, there came a warm voice.
"Mira, from now on, see nothing, hear nothing."
The voice was incredibly familiar, Mira certainly knew who it was from.
She nodded slightly, closed her eyes, covered her ears, as if she had fallen asleep.
Mira could not feel that the Path to Divinity beneath her feet was being lifted by an incomparable mighty force, heading towards the vast and distant Cloud Sea above.
And the being in front of her, gazing towards the end of the Cloud Sea, looking far to that divine glow, his eyes reflecting a nostalgic hue.
