Only God -
Chapter 426 - 377: Reborn Today
Chapter 426: Chapter 377: Reborn Today
Human nature?
Mira paused.
After all, she had taken theology classes at the Thousand Cities Academy and certainly understood what human nature was.
Though there were many metaphysical interpretations, simply put, human nature is the expression of the soul’s consciousness.
"Why, why... God, why would you do this?"
Mira asked incredulously,
"It would be so easy for the majestic you to destroy it."
Her words reached Chen Yi’s ears.
She was right, just as Schiller had said at the time.
For the current self, destroying the Primordial Will was not a difficult task.
Those Stars discontented with the Law, eager to strengthen the Primordial Will’s power, sought to unlock its seal to force oneself to concede, allowing Them to rebuild the old order.
But the Stars did not understand,
as heaven is high above the earth, so is the present God above the primordial.
Chen Yi gazed at the Primordial Will surging within the seal.
After a moment, Chen Yi said softly,
"This is for you, Mira, and for everyone."
Mira paused.
"Countless souls, intermingled with the Primordial Will over thousands of years of sacrifice, have perhaps already made it something more than a ’dead thing’ with bare instincts in that darkness."
Upon the throne of Heaven, Chen Yi peered into that profound darkness, which was retreating step by step.
Its retreat was not cold; the darkness around it surged, like bowing down, like begging.
"All this may trace back to Shan’en, in the Golden Hall, where He, through the entire Country of Divines, bore the Primordial Will, which in turn took and mimicked."
The explanation from God entered Mira’s ears.
Hearing these words, Mira came to understand something and further recognized the secrecy from thousands of years ago.
"God, does the Primordial Will... now have its own emotions?"
Mira spoke,
"Through those sacrifices, has the Primordial Will imitated... souls?"
"Yes, but it is still only imitation."
The words of God lingered by her ear as Mira gazed at the boundless darkness around her.
The Primordial Will had mimicked souls, but they were not true souls.
Mira knew well that the souls of all beings in this world originated from God.
And now... God was about to bestow human nature upon the Primordial Will.
For God, it was so easy to destroy it.
In fact, even for mortals, "destruction" itself is not difficult.
With a drawn Sword, one can slaughter each other, obliterate the life of another; with a single lie, wreak havoc for a moment, causing countless to dedicate their lives before realizing it was all for naught...
By contrast, salvation is fraught with difficulty.
Two people with drawn Swords seldom offer each other an embrace; a hundred years of grudge between two Clan Leaders doesn’t dissolve with temporary forgiveness...
The cost of salvation is often much greater than that of destruction.
Humans living on the earth often must destroy someone, yet rarely must they save someone.
A starving slave with a Sword can destroy a world-renowned Hero, through assassination, plotting, or torture, but it’s challenging to use that Sword for their salvation.
On the other hand, a world-renowned Hero can offer a helping hand to a starving slave.
Mira softly asked,
"God, why is it salvation... and not destruction?"
God told her,
"Because heaven is above the earth."
In an instant, Mira seemed to understand something.
It’s not that I must save...
"But I wanted to save you, between destruction and salvation, it was I who made the choice."
"Just as the firmament always towers above the earth, you had no choice in the matter."
The girl eventually had an epiphany.
As for the Primordial Church related to the Primordial Will,
Mira understood that even without the Primordial Will, there would still be a Primordial Church.
Because the Primordial Church was not the church of the Primordial Will, but that of the Six Gods.
Its establishment stemmed entirely from those Six Gods’ misinterpretation of the truth, from their dissatisfaction with the Law, from their desire to return to the old order.
Chen Yi looked at Mira like this and just smiled.
At this moment, Mira scratched her head, somewhat puzzled by something.
"God, why did you say: ’This is also for my sake’?"
Chen Yi gently uttered a name,
"Anos, is it?"
In an instant, Mira’s cheeks flushed with red.
She bowed her head and then very slowly, very gently nodded.
Above the throne, Chen Yi no longer looked at Mira, but focused her gaze upon the Primordial Will.
At that moment, She extended a hand.
Blinding white brilliance spread out, the entire vault of heaven illuminated as if countless suns had risen.
The eternal light that had endured for tens of thousands of years crossed distances beyond imagination, a strand of bright gold flame streaked across the vast expanses of the Celestial Kingdom, reaching directly into the heart of the Historical Star.
The profound darkness surged, seeming to fear, yet also seeming to revel in ecstasy.
The strand of bright gold flame merged into the Primordial Will.
Around Mira, the darkness that surrounded her retreated, and as far as the eye could see, there was light.
The flame sank into the deepest part of the Primordial Will and then gently planted its own roots.
Mira watched this miraculous spectacle.
Within the viscous darkness, countless sacrificed souls were expelled, each like a cocoon, aimlessly falling upon the misty star-studded sky.
Chen Yi pulled Her hand back, and in an instant, innumerable souls were gathered into Her hand, awaiting the judgment of the Law.
Mira stood in place, the surroundings becoming much brighter than before.
After she saw God complete everything, she asked:
"God, now... are you going to take me out?"
Contrary to her expectations, God gave a negative reply.
"No, Mira, you have to find your own way out."
Mira was taken aback, looking around, having no idea how to leave.
Then, a force from nowhere turned the girl’s head, making her gaze deep into the Primordial Will.
"Right there, talk to it, converse with it, let it understand who it is, where it comes from, and where it must go."
After this, God’s voice disappeared, but God’s light remained.
The surroundings were no longer pitch-black but faintly illuminated, though the source of the light was unseen.
After scratching her head, Mira seriously gazed deep into the Primordial Will.
This was the mission God had given her...
In a sense, it was a mission well suited for her.
So, Mira shook her head and temporarily cast aside some miscellaneous concerns, then began to tiptoe forward.
At first, her steps were slow, but the path to the very depths was very long, and she could not help but run carelessly through the interior.
She ran fast, and the road was clear and smooth.
Eventually, after an unknown length of time, Mira finally reached the depths.
She raised her hand and pushed open the great door within.
A vast space appeared before her.
At the very center, a viscous black mass floated in the air, like an embryo about to come into the world, and at its heart pulsed a flame-like soul.
Slowly, Mira put her hands on her hips, took a deep breath, and spoke in the tone of a Prophet from the Scriptures:
"Child, today you are reborn."
