Chapter 381: Chapter 337 Red Olive Poetry Society

"Red Olive Poetry Society..."

Mira followed Anos to the society’s gathering place, which was a mansion within the academy.

Anos extended her right hand and knocked on the door three times—thud, thud, thud.

Moments later, the door opened from inside, and a drowsy-eyed woman poked her head out.

"I was wondering who would bother me this early in the morning, but it turns out to be Your Highness."

The woman yawned and then opened the door wider, lazily curtseying in a casual manner.

Mira looked inside and saw a set of couches arranged for receiving guests, complete with woolen backrests and cushioned seats. A round table stood between them, adorned with fine red and blue tapestries from Ajia Land.

She slowly withdrew her gaze, her eyes inadvertently catching sight of the sign hanging above the door; like a tavern would have a sign carved into the shape of a beer mug, the Red Olive Poetry Society also had a sign engraved with red olives, its edges delicately coated with a layer of red lacquer.

"Stephanie, you should change your habits, like learning to pray at the chapel in the morning."

Anos walked further in as she spoke.

"Yes, yes, but my faith lies with the Forest God Lipo."

Stephanie lazily responded, only noticing the girl as Mira stepped inside.

"Who is she? Your maid?"

Stephanie turned and asked Anos.

"I am not a maid."

Mira lifted her face to look at the disheveled brown-haired woman before her, whose skin was smooth, features neat, and small, faintly red freckles dotted along her nose.

Stephanie turned to look at Mira,

"Indeed, there’s no maid that behaves so improperly."

It was clear she was displeased with Mira for interrupting her.

However, this also indirectly confirmed to her that Mira was not Anos’s maid.

Anos looked at Stephanie and then began to introduce Mira:

"This is Stephanie, as you see, she is the mistress of this estate and a heathen. She is also a special person in this academy.

After all, she is the niece of the former vice chancellor, so she is a person worthy of respect, and she provides the gathering place for the Red Olive."

Stephanie seemed pleased with the princess’s introduction, puffing out her chest and nodding repeatedly.

Then, Anos introduced Mira to Stephanie.

After the introductions, Stephanie looked surprised,

"What, she’s your lifesaver?"

Then she turned to look at Mira,

"Such a petit thing, it’s really hard to believe."

Mira showed her displeasure, muttering,

"Petit thing, I am several hundred years old."

Her voice was so soft, neither Stephanie nor Anos heard her.

In Anos’s story to Stephanie, the princess had omitted many details, such as Mira using the Ancient Language to slow down time, and Olivia’s betrayal.

Stephanie could only grasp the general picture; had she known the details, she would have thought it supernatural.

Anos and Mira sat down on the couch while Stephanie clapped her hands and brought up some pastries, pickled meat, fruit pudding, and wine from upstairs.

Mira looked around the environment of the mansion while enjoying the pastries Stephanie brought, which were mostly made the night before and not particularly fresh, but Mira still ate them with relish.

Before long, the members of the Red Olive society began to arrive one after another, three men and two women. As they entered, they saw Mira seated next to Anos, and each had a different reaction—some waved friendly greetings, some bowed politely, and some looked at Mira with caution, as if judging her...

When everyone, including Stephanie’s maids, had arrived, Anos stood up again to introduce Mira to the group.

"May God watch over you,"

a brown-haired man said with a smile as he bowed slightly. His attire was simple, giving him the air of a would-be Poet,

"Although Your Highness Anos has already introduced her, I’ll introduce myself again. I am Karen from Oloron."

"Um... may you also be watched over, I am Mira."

Facing so many strangers at once, Mira felt a little uneasy.

One of the blonde-haired women stepped forward with a gentle gaze upon Mira and said softly:

"You remind me of my little sister, but she passed away from a high fever at the age of two. May the Lord have mercy on her and take her to Heaven."

A two-year-old child had died, struck by misfortune at such a naïve age, and according to the Law, she would be taken directly to Heaven.

Mira almost said: That’s wonderful.

"That, that..."

Mira started to smile, but quickly realized and immediately arranged her face into an expression of sympathy,

"That’s such a pity..."

For Mira, who came from Heaven, death didn’t feel real, and in some sense, it didn’t even exist.

Her expression was awkward, and the blonde woman chuckled upon seeing it.

"It’s alright, I’ve come to terms with it long ago. My name is Elena from the Sofia Family."

Both by surname and by given name, she was clearly a pure-blooded Danschel Noble.

After Elena, a woman with plain looks turned her gaze to Mira, her eyes that had previously shown wariness now softened.

"I’m Mona."

The introduction was succinct, prompting Elena beside her to add:

"Mona is of common birth. Her scholarly achievements are exceptional; she’s been highly praised by teachers from both the Divine College and the Ancient Language Academy."

Mira put on an expression of sudden realization.

Being a commoner, Mona had no surname, let alone a family name; her name was taken from the Book of Thousand-Year-Old Prophets, where it belonged to the Witch Mona taught by Solamus in the forest.

The remaining members of the society and Stephanie’s maids all gave brief introductions, and Mira realized that even though the Red Olive Poetry Society was called a poetry society, it had little to do with poetry. Only Karen from Oloron seemed to have a bit of a Poet’s flair; the rest did not appear to have much talent in poetry.

"Don’t think too hard about it. From the very beginning, the society had little to do with poetry,"

Anos said with a smile in response to Mira’s hushed sharing of her doubts.

Mira was shocked by this answer.

So... what then is the poetry society actually related to?

Ancient Language, as well as the political dealings amongst the Nobles.

Anos, a Princess of the Empire, though her father and the Delos Family’s foundations in the Imperial City were not as stable compared to the established Council of Elders’ Nobles, nearly half of the present company were Nobles who had risen to prominence since the Delos Family took control of the throne.

"Your Highness, I’ve heard that the Olive Guild has some tasks they would like us to handle,"

After a casual conversation on the bench, Mona spoke up unexpectedly.

"Mona sure likes talking about work,"

Stephanie said with a yawn, her figure leaning on the back of the bench was very graceful.

"It piques one’s curiosity, what kind of assignment would be entrusted to a bunch of students?"

Karen’s tone fluctuated, as melodious as the rhythm of a poem.

"It’s related to the Ancient Language."
