Chapter 347: Chapter 304 The Gates of the Golden Hall are Tightly Shut
A cloud, as dire as the war that occurred a millennium ago, loomed over the entire Celestial Kingdom, and Shan’en, who once convened the Gods, now uncharacteristically remained motionless.
Perhaps this King of Gods had long anticipated the future or, alternatively, Shan’en didn’t take to heart this crisis sweeping across the universe.
Outside the Golden Hall, day and night, Divine beings sobbed desperately to meet the great Divine King, yet they were always greeted by nothing more than the firmly shut doors of the hall.
"Shan’en, O great Divine King, why do you do nothing?!"
Facing the unknown terror, the Divine beings knelt on the ground, weeping, in dire need of their King of Gods to direct the path of the Celestial Kingdom.
Yet the entire Golden Hall stood silent, devoid of any sound.
The Gods were in panic, and the stars were unsteady.
The order that Shan’en had built thousands of years ago was now, with the passage of time, collapsing bit by bit until it shattered.
And Shan’en, who had always valued order the most, turned a blind eye to its crumbling.
Because of Shan’en’s hesitation to oversee the situation, the Celestial Kingdom faced such a great division, leading Water God Angel to seek out the wandering Solamus from the mortal world.
In the entire Celestial Kingdom, no one could discern the intentions of Shan’en.
Even the Prophetic God Kagawus was unable to predict the thoughts of the King of Gods.
In recent days, due to the closure of the Golden Hall, the Divines, who were unified under Shan’en, fragmented. They gathered around the four earliest awakened Divine beings, taking them as leaders, in hopes of finding a way to survive the crisis.
As the Prophetic God, Kagawus, due to His relationship with Shan’en, naturally became one of the most supported Divines.
"Kagawus... what could be wrong with our King?"
A Divine being asked with a trembling voice,
"Why does He lock Himself away in the Golden Hall, unwilling to convene the Gods as He did before?
Now, Kagawus, what should we do?"
Kagawus sighed deeply and said:
"I cannot fathom the Divine King’s will, but I know this: He alone founded the Country of Divines and He will not allow it to fall to ruin. We must act with caution, with utmost restraint and calm, to defend the survival of the entire Country of Divines."
Even though Prophetic God Kagawus’s words couldn’t pacify all the Divine, those willing to follow Kagawus heeded His words. They began to keep a low profile, suppressing the spread of panic and striving to maintain the normal operation of the entire Country of Divines.
However, Kagawus and His followers couldn’t represent the attitudes of other Divines.
Mortals have their own grudges on Earth, and amongst the vast expanse of stars, there are rifts between the Gods.
In the past, despite the rifts between the Gods, they were limited by the Ancient Pact of Gods established by Shan’en. Within the framework of order, even with rifts, it was difficult for them to turn against each other with sword and spear. Yet, the closure of the Golden Hall exposed these rifts among the Divines, which grew wider and wider. With grudges simmering below the surface, the Country of Divines faced an unprecedented major division.
Dragon God Endora had scorned the mortals on Earth since ancient times. The Gods were so high above; the mortals bound to the earth were only fit to look up at the stars in the night sky. The Gods following Dragon God Endora were mostly cruel and violent by nature and had always clashed with those following Prophetic God Kagawus.
They feared no longer being high above, feared that mortals no longer needed to look up, but could reach out and touch the starlight. Naturally, they wouldn’t stand by as everything fell apart. They called upon the Gods to resist the descent of Heaven with all their might, even if it meant sacrificing everything, even if it caused all living beings on the vast earth to perish.
These Gods began to use every means to increase their own Divine Power. They first broke the Ancient Pact of Gods, creating massive turmoil across the broad land and sea.
War God Saiama was dead, but that did not mean the Divine Power within the War Star had dissipated.
Dragon God Endora ascended to the War Star, transforming into a Six-winged Giant Dragon. He pounded the crimson ground with fist after fist, then spewed a wildfire across the surface. The War Blood Wind moved with the fire, quickly merging with the Dragon Flame. At this moment, Endora controlled the ownerless War Star beneath His feet with the formidable War Blood Wind swirling within His massive dragon wings.
The Fifth Rank Dragon God Endora sought to use the immense war to step into the Sixth Rank.
From the distant lands, the white Plague God Sturad came at the call of Dragon God Endora, spewing flies, centipedes, venomous snakes, mosquitoes, rats... a total of seven hundred and sixty-one kinds of poisons, each one in the thousands. These invisible plagues quickly accumulated in the dark corners of the Mortal World’s gutters, and before long, would sweep across everything.
The Wind God caused gales in hundreds of mortal nations, one after another, toppling forests and causing mountains to collapse. This allowed the God of Despair to harvest the despair on the earth and forge higher powers for Himself.
Bow God, God of Hunger, Warhorse God, God of Regret... the list was endless. Dragon God Endora and His followers sought to achieve more terrifying Divine Power through the shattering destruction of the Mortal World.
Curse God Yikabe was among the first five Gods to awaken, holding the least prestige among them. The Gods following Him could not compare with the followers of the other three Gods, and Gods like Him, such as the God of Secrecy and the God of Night... didn’t care about the survival of the Country of Divines.
Among these more isolated Gods, they sensed that the Country of Divines was doomed to decline and deeply believed in the mortal saying—there is nothing immortal in the world, just as the splendor of the Golden Age was destined to end.
Curse God Yikabe advocated that they should indulge in pleasure before the end of the Golden Age arrives. Wine God Sibos brewed endless exquisite wines for them, and Food God put all their effort into cooking various delicacies, allowing the Gods to seek pleasure amidst the approaching collapse of the Country of Divines and to enjoy the last bit of beauty.
Finally, there was Water God Angel.
Angel represented the Gods in the Country of Divines who inclined toward "the Father."
Among the Gods following Her, some had long admired "the Father," such as Death God Nakbet and the God of Mountains and Craftsman Hiris, while others like Forest God Lipo, who held immense fear of "the Father," had resolved to submit directly.
They yearned to submit to "the Father" as soon as possible, hoping to find their own place in the new order to come. That’s why Water God Angel had come to Earth, to meet with Solamus.
Now the Celestial Kingdom, with the closure of the Golden Hall, was no longer the orderly place it had been for thousands of years. The rule of the Divine King, who wielded thunder, had fragmented into different factions among the Gods. They wrestled and faced off with one another, and the Mortal World became the grand stage for the Gods.
