Chapter 212: Chapter 182: Battle of the Gods
Celestial Kingdom.
Hiris had at last found the belligerent blood-red star.
The God of Mountains and Craftsmen, wielding the Divine Hammer and clad in war armor forged from thirty-three metals, his feet fitted with the Four-direction Flying Boots crafted by the East Wind, South Wind, West Wind, and North Wind, and his wrist armor cast from the horns of Earth Dragons, the tusks of mammoths, and hard obsidian.
Although the divine artifacts upon him were not his finest work of a lifetime, they were close to the pinnacle.
Hiris stood upon the crimson star, where the blood wind of war swirled.
He intended to destroy the God of War soon to be born on this planet.
On the War Star, victory’s glory, bloody plunder, trampled lives, infamous notoriety, songs of praise for heroes, and the oblivion of the dead... All things of war coalesced into red whirlwinds after another, gathering at the core of the star, slowly birthing a soul with self-awareness.
The lesson of Slaier’s past prevented Hiris from colliding his own star with the War Star, as such commotion would alarm the Gods of the Country of Divines.
Thus, Hiris had decided to ascend the War Star himself.
The frenzied Blood Wind spun, grazing the tips of Hiris’s hair.
Countless blood winds, with force immense, made even Hiris, clad in divine artifacts, tremble ever so slightly.
That would be a Fifth Rank Divine.
Fourth Rank Hiris was acutely aware of this.
Yet, he was still bent on destroying the war.
As a father, he would not stand idly by and watch his reckless son die amidst war.
The God of Mountains and Craftsmen gazed at the accumulating blood wind, his conviction unshaken.
He merely awaited the soul to form before he would swing his Divine Hammer.
"My Father, protect me,"
Hiris prayed softly, his grip on the Divine Hammer tightening amidst the howling winds.
On the land filled with war’s furious winds...
A soul drenched in blood was slowly awakening.
It covered its face with a hand, much like an infant cannot stare directly into bright light.
Violent, bloody, and glorious emotions converged upon the War God, dominating every corner of His soul.
He opened His eyes fully, casting His gaze towards the battlefields of the Mortal World.
The War God was on the verge of reaching out, His nature calling, yearning for the war to intensify.
A heavy shadow plunged from the high skies.
The War God looked up sharply.
An immense hammer descending from heaven, carrying an unstoppable force, aimed to destroy this newborn soul.
Sudden, fierce blood winds sprang up around the War God, converging into a huge barrier, surging upwards, slowing down the hammer’s fall, yet it still plummeted swiftly.
Boom!
The ground upon which the War God stood was smashed, forming a wide, deep pit.
The newborn War God spat out blood, narrowly dodging the blow by instinct, but still suffered vast impact.
Hiris held the Divine Hammer, stepping across the ground, the war armor upon Him now making Him resemble the God of War.
"Who are you?" roared the God of War.
His voice stirred the blood winds of the star.
"Hiris, father of Shanon."
The voice was calm, imbued with a father’s determination.
Hiris lifted his Divine Hammer, appearing in a flash.
Riding the blood winds, the God of War quickly retreated, vigorously stirring up the winds, yet saw not only was Hiris not hindered, but He was also drawing near!
The battle boots forged by the winds allowed Hiris to traverse the tempest as if swimming in water.
Realizing escape was futile, the War God halted, His powerful hands pressing to the earth.
The entire star heeded His will, and the ground erupted instantly, peaks rose like shields in the blink of an eye.
These shields made of mountains would have elicited endless sighs from any mortal who saw them.
However, Hiris’s sturdy arms clenched the Divine Hammer, He faced the mountains, and the weapon in His hands suddenly enlarged.
In an instant, the hammer shattered the mountains.
The tremendous force caused the mountains to collapse and the earth to cave, and the aftermath of that powerful strike generated fiendish fissures of terror.
The War God roared in fury, and the winds obeyed his call, manifesting as projections of warfare heroes.
Tiger-man Patro, lion-man Torras, serpent-woman Chira, Medes, Tusi, and even Baird, who had shined in the war...
Countless heroic warriors formed by the winds of war poised their swords against the God of Mountains and Craftsmen.
Hiris charged forth, swinging the Divine Hammer and mercilessly crushing the spectral heroes before Him.
None of the projections could stop this divine being.
Until...
Hiris saw the projection of Shanon.
The centaur held a mighty bow, aiming at Hiris.
The God of Mountains and Craftsmen froze, His hammer suddenly becoming unbearably heavy.
An arrow flew from Shanon’s spectral hands, striking straight at Hiris’s heart.
The war armor of the God of Mountains and Craftsmen deflected the arrow; He looked up, clenched His teeth, and with a hefty swing, crushed the projection before Him.
Intense winds pressed upon Hiris.
Despite the Four-direction Flying Boots, Hiris’s figure still inevitably became slowed.
The God of War began to laugh maniacally; by now, He had gradually mastered His own power.
The power of a Fifth-Rank Divine!
Hiris’s brow furrowed tight, teeth clenched, determined to destroy the God of War quickly.
"Why do you do this?!" the God of War, watching Hiris approaching at high speed, shouted.
"For my son," Hiris replied.
