Chapter 147: Chapter 147: The Doe Family’s Ancestor, Returning to the Apocalypse Group

The Canvas of Illusions has its own space. After Johnnie’s game attributes were fused, he could bring it into the real world. But items inside the Canvas of Illusions couldn’t move between the game and the real world.

It seemed only the Celestial Mirror could do that.

So he needed to find a way to kill Dorian and see if he could get the Celestial Mirror.

Johnnie put the jade away and stopped thinking about it.

"Johnnie." Atlas came over and asked."what’s your plan next?"

Johnnie said."It’s hard to deal with Dorian in the real world. We need to find a way to kill him in the game. Senior, I also need you to help me track down Dorian’s location."

"No problem." Atlas nodded. He also knew they had to eliminate Dorian.

He continued."I have another thing I need your help with."

"What is it?" Johnnie asked curiously.

Atlas pulled him aside and then said."This time, I advanced my Sword Immortal class, and I took on a special hidden quest related to the Sword Immortal profession."

"Related to the Sword Immortal?" Johnnie was confused.

Atlas nodded and explained."To help the Sword Immortal school revive, I need to build a country and find a hidden realm called Dawn Mountain."

Johnnie was a bit surprised. He hadn’t received this quest.

Several previous quest advancements required helping more players change to the Sword Immortal class.

Atlas’s quest was much harder—it was about fully reviving the Sword Immortal school, which meant making it a public class like warrior, archer, or mage, available to any player who wanted to change.

This benefit was definitely huge. If more players changed to Sword Immortal, their strength would increase, making it easier to resist the alien invasion.

At the same time, completing this quest was also very difficult. Building a country was obvious, and it might face attacks from gods.

And finding the hidden realm Dawn Mountain.

He had never heard of this realm in his previous life, and he wasn’t sure where to start.

Atlas continued."About the Dawn Mountain realm, I already have some clues. The most important part is building the country."

"That’s no problem." Johnnie said. He had previously been trapped in The Shadow Abyss and had killed The Evil Monarch, dropping a National Founding Decree. He already had two of them.

But he also had a country-building quest, the Rex inheritance, to revive the Ninefold Empire.

It looked like the country built by the military had to be affiliated with either the Sword Immortal school or the Ninefold Empire.

Or, he could get another National Founding Decree.

With the Canvas of Illusions, it wasn’t impossible to kill another stage 9 legendary again.

Johnnie said."I have another quest to finish. I’ll build the country after I finish this one."

He thought about the White Spirit Tiger’s quest, to find the ruins of the Four Sacred Beasts and revive the other three Sacred Beast clones.

Only with all four Sacred Beast clones would they have a chance to fight the gods.

"Johnnie." Lina ran over excitedly, holding a vial of blood in her hand and said excitedly."I tested it. The blood of this snake clone is just as powerful as divine blood. It can be used to make The Elixir of Immortality."

"This is a good thing." Johnnie nodded, his expression also brightened.

Pluto’s clone had a huge body and a lot of blood.

With the divine blood issue solved, they could mass-produce The Elixir of Immortality, helping Yett Family disciples transform into Innate Physique.

Lina, however, was not happy. She frowned and said."But the Half-Life Lotus is almost gone."

Producing The Elixir of Immortality required a huge amount of Half-Life Lotus. The one Johnnie brought from the Yett Family had already been nearly used up.

Johnnie looked at Atlas.

Atlas quickly shook his head and said."The Yett Family doesn’t have any stock left either. The Half-Life Lotus we’ve planted will take at least a year to grow."

A year was too long for Johnnie to wait.

He said."Senior, see if you can find any Half-Life Lotus from other Ancient Martial Arts Families. I’ll figure out the rest."

Johnnie didn’t have much hope. The Half-Life Lotus of other Ancient Martial Arts Families had all been looted by the Doe Family.

The only ones who still controlled the Half-Life Lotus were the Doe Family and the Apocalypse Group.

It looked like he would have to go to the Apocalypse Group himself.

Lina said."Johnnie, there’s something else. My equipment is still in the Sunset City villa."

"Don’t worry, we’ll go back later." Johnnie decided to return to Sunset City. This crisis was over, and the Doe Family probably wouldn’t act for a while.

Lina, however, hesitated and said."Um, could we move the equipment here? Crysic and the others want to stay a few more days."

Johnnie was stunned.

Lina was usually reclusive, so it made sense for her to want to stay in the deep forest. But Crysic and the others wanting to stay was unexpected.

Atlas quickly added."That’s a good idea. We don’t get many guests here. More people would make it livelier, and I can also guide you in your training."

Lina nodded eagerly, looking at Johnnie with anticipation.

"Okay, then I’ll trouble you, Senior." Johnnie nodded and agreed. Now that he had the Canvas of Illusions, moving these items wasn’t a problem.

"Not at all. I’ll have Finn arrange it right away." Atlas said quickly. He was also happy that Cecilia could stay.

Seeing that there was nothing else to do, Johnnie said a quick goodbye. His black wings appeared behind him, and he returned to Sunset City to retrieve the lab equipment Lina needed to make The Elixir of Immortality.

The Demon Wing flew faster than the Controlled Sword, and most importantly, it didn’t consume Mana points.

Under the dark sky, a black shadow flashed by. Johnnie moved at an incredible speed, heading straight for Sunset City.

...

The Hundred Hills, the location of the Doe Family.

A fluctuation in space energy appeared, and a figure materialized.

It was Dorian.

He didn’t stay long. His body pulsed with wind-element energy, and he flew through the air, heading toward the mountains behind the Hundred Hills.

There were layers of seals here, and using the Celestial Mirror, he passed through them and entered the core of the Ten-Thousand-Mountain Range.

Buzz...

The space energy fluctuated, and suddenly everything opened up, revealing a paradise-like place.

The place was bustling with people, all of them disciples of the Doe Family.

The Doe Family hadn’t descended onto the Universe Continent. Instead, they were hiding deep in these ten thousand mountains.

"Master of the Family!"

Surrounding the Doe Family disciples, upon seeing Dorian arrive, all bowed respectfully and greeted him.

Dorian gave a slight nod, then entered the family’s inner sanctum, opened a hidden mechanism, and revealed a deep underground passage.

He took a deep breath and stepped into the secret tunnel.

The tunnel was dark and stretched deep underground.

After a long time, a dim candlelight appeared ahead, and the space suddenly opened up into a spacious, hidden chamber filled with simple furniture.

"Did the plan fail?" a deep, aged voice asked.

On the bed in the chamber, an old man with withered, thin skin sat cross-legged, emitting a heavy aura of death.

Dorian bowed respectfully before speaking: "Ancestor, the Pluto clone is dead. Your guess was correct—the Map of Heaven and Earth is indeed the Canvas of Illusions, and it appeared in Earth, awakening one of its strong figures."

"Did you find out who it was?" the old man asked coldly.

Dorian shook his head: "No, the energy was very strong, but it didn’t belong to any of the sect masters I know."

"It’s probably not from a cultivation sect. Even if they haven’t been completely destroyed, they would be hard to revive." the old man said coldly. "Let’s start the next part of the plan."

Dorian hesitated, frowning and said: "Ancestor, Johnnie and I are almost enemies to the death. Are we really going to work with him? He won’t believe us anyway."

"You don’t need him to believe." the old man said coldly. "He wants the pieces of the Map of Heaven and Earth, right? Just give them to him. As long as we kill Pluto, we won’t have to worry about this guy anymore."

"But if he finds out the secret of the Map of Heaven and Earth, will we be his match?" Dorian still didn’t want to agree and continued: "Also, I don’t think Johnnie can kill Pluto."

The old man looked at him and said: "Even if he knows the secret of the Map of Heaven and Earth, he can’t easily revive the gods within it. Also, don’t underestimate this guy. I’ve confirmed that he has tamed the Goddess of Life. The Demon God is already dead, and it’s very likely connected to him. This has to be done. Go and arrange it."

The death of the Pluto clone would also badly wound its true body, making it the perfect moment to strike.

Dorian opened his mouth, still hesitant, but seeing the old man’s firm determination, he said nothing more and gave a respectful bow before turning and leaving.

...

On the other side, Johnnie returned to the villa and put all of Lina’s lab equipment into the Canvas of Illusions.

"Now is the time to take care of the Apocalypse Group." he said. He didn’t return to the Yett Family immediately but headed straight for the Western Alliance, to the Apocalypse Group.

The Demon Wing flew fast, but even so, he didn’t arrive at the Apocalypse Group until midnight the next day.

Johnnie silently landed on the rooftop of the Apocalypse Group building and locked onto Macbeth’s energy.

Crack!

A loud explosion shattered the huge sliding window.

Macbeth was in the game at that moment, and the huge noise caught his attention. He immediately disconnected from the game.

"Huh? Angel or vampire?" he exclaimed, looking at the figure before the broken window, who had a pair of huge wings on his back.

He looked a bit like the legendary vampire.

"Macbeth, it’s been a while." Johnnie said coldly, folding his Demon Wing behind him.

"It’s you!" Macbeth’s eyes widened, his expression full of fear. He immediately pressed the alarm button on the table.

The entire building roared with alarm sounds, and the door burst open as a squad of fully armed soldiers rushed in.

These guys were all Cyborgs from the Apocalypse Group.

Johnnie stood before the dark barrels of the guns, not at all afraid. He looked at Macbeth and said calmly: "Do you think these guys can stop me?"

Macbeth swallowed hard and hesitated for a moment before waving his hand and ordering."All of you, back off."

He had already seen Johnnie’s terrifying strength, and if the guy really attacked, these guards wouldn’t have time to react at this close range.

The guards obeyed, bowed, and then retreated, closing the door again.

Macbeth suppressed his fear and looked at Johnnie, saying: "Johnnie, you should already know that the background of the Horizon game isn’t controlled by me, but by the Doe Family. I was just used."
