Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Chapter 25
"Alright," Brother Xiong said, "if you’re not drinking, then get out. But, your woman must stay."
Song Guanchao narrowed his eyes and responded, "Let me discuss it with my girlfriend first."
Brother Xiong was taken aback. Was this man really that cowardly?
Fu Cheng had made it clear that they needed to teach this kid a lesson.
But the other party was so damn cowardly that they couldn’t find any reason to strike.
Song Guanchao had already turned around and pulled Liang Jiajia to the side of a green belt, whispering, "Don’t worry about anything later, just run towards where there are people. I’ll come find you later."
"What are you going to do..."
"Don’t ask, just do as I say."
Leaving those words behind, Song Guanchao turned around and walked back.
As he approached, his gaze swept over the few men, quickly assessing their positions.
Brother Xiong asked, "Have you discussed it?"
"Yes," Song Guanchao said with a smile, "Brother Xiong, right?"
"Huh?"
"Give me some face."
"Give you some face? You?"
Brother Xiong laughed as if he’d heard the funniest joke, "Who the hell do you think you are...?"
"Bang!"
Before he finished speaking, a fist rapidly enlarged in his vision.
The next second, Brother Xiong felt his head buzz, consciousness momentarily lost.
As the punch landed, Song Guanchao, without looking back, shouted, "Run!"
Then, with a sidestep, he moved in front of the man on his left, grabbed his hair, pushed down, and simultaneously lifted his knee, brutally smashing it into the man’s face.
With a crack, blood immediately smeared across the man’s face, filling his vision with red.
At that moment, the remaining two men reacted.
"Damn!"
The two converged from left and right, fists and legs raised, attacking him.
Song Guanchao half-turned, took a punch with his left shoulder, and quickly closed in on the third man, right arm bent, elbow like a blade, violently smashing into his temple.
"Bang!"
The man’s eyes rolled back as he fell straight down.
The curses of the last man reached Song Guanchao’s ears. He twirled, using his left foot as a pivot, his waist twisting, and lashed out a whipping kick backwards.
With a "smack," the sole of his shoe accurately whipped across the man’s face.
The man instantly lost balance, tumbling sideways to the ground.
At this point, Brother Xiong, who had received a punch earlier, regained his senses just in time to see Song Guanchao overturn his last cohort with a beautiful whip kick.
Seeing the three brothers lying on the ground, he momentarily forgot the pain on his face.
As Song Guanchao approached him, Brother Xiong, scared witless, backed away, gesturing, "Brother, let’s talk this over..."
Song Guanchao closed in and aimed a punch at his face.
Thud—Brother Xiong also fell down.
Behind him.
Liang Jiajia, who was just about to rush over to help, saw this scene and gasped in shock.
In a black sedan across the street, Fu Cheng was also stunned.
Was this guy really that fierce?
One against four, and he just toppled them all?
Not far behind Song Guanchao, Wu Qiangwei and Bai Ruyi were equally astounded.
They had left the restaurant shortly after him, following not because they intended to trail Song Guanchao, but merely because it was on their way home.
Yet, they hadn’t expected to witness such a scene.
Bai Ruyi’s eyes sparkled with excitement, "Qiangwei, isn’t your driver incredibly fierce?"
"One against four, and he knocked them all down; it’s like something out of a movie!"
"Did you see that last whip kick? It was utterly cool!"
"Qiangwei, how about you let me have him? I just happen to need a secretary!"
Bai Ruyi chattered incessantly, and Wu Qiangwei couldn’t help but say irritably, "Alright, let’s go now."
"Hey, not this way, you’re going the wrong direction."
"I’m taking a detour."
"Why take a detour? Oh, I get it, you don’t want to run into him?"
"Isn’t he your driver? Why are you avoiding him so much? Could it be that you two really have a problem?"
Wu Qiangwei couldn’t be bothered to engage with her gossiping best friend.
But in her mind, she couldn’t help but recall the awkward scene that had occurred in the office that afternoon.
"Why didn’t you leave?"
Seeing Liang Jiajia not only staying put but also clenching her fists as if ready to fight, Song Guanchao didn’t even know what to say.
"Why should I leave!"
Liang Jiajia declared righteously, "I learned combat in police academy!"
"They were four guys, and they came after you; in this situation, what you should do is run as far as you can!"
This woman, she’s damn fierce!
"But aren’t you here too?" Liang Jiajia looked at the four men writhing on the ground and said, "Didn’t expect you to be so powerful, taking down four by yourself."
"If I had known you could fight like this, why waste time talking to them?"
"A gentleman does not stand under a collapsing wall."
Song Guanchao felt weary, "Even if I can fight, there’s always a chance of losing. It’s better not to resort to violence if it can be avoided, especially with you here. What if I lost and they took you away and harmed you? How would I ever explain to your family?"
"Remember, in future confrontations, don’t always think about resolving them with violence."
"Got it."
Liang Jiajia knew he was right.
But this was not quite like the men she had encountered before.
The guys in the department would duke it out at the slightest provocation.
Song Guanchao, however, went the complete opposite way.
Though capable, he preferred to play it safe, only resorting to fighting when negotiation failed.
This man, he thought things through very comprehensively and acted without impulsiveness.
Moreover, he didn’t care about saving face at all.
Others might feign bravery out of fear just to not lose face in front of a woman.
But this man dealt with matters very calmly and rationally, not swayed by emotion.
Subsequently, Liang Jiajia reported the incident.
This area was under the jurisdiction of the Longjiang Road Police Station. Upon hearing Liang Jiajia had been harassed by thugs, the officer on duty immediately rushed over.
Following the arrival of the police, the four men were taken into the police van, and both Song Guanchao and Liang Jiajia went with them.
After they finished giving their statements, it was already 11 p.m.
Liang Jiajia said, "Thanks for today, let me drive you home."
"No need, I’ll catch a cab..."
"Get in the car!"
Liang Jiajia didn’t give him a chance to refuse, heading straight to a sedan.
Once in the car, as he fastened his seatbelt, Song Guanchao suddenly hissed.
"What’s wrong?"
"I got punched." Song Guanchao rubbed his left shoulder.
Only then did Liang Jiajia remember he indeed caught a punch on his shoulder; concerned, she asked, "Are you alright?"
"It’s okay, I’ll just buy a bottle of Trauma Wine and rub it on tomorrow."
Liang Jiajia hummed in response and drove out of the parking lot.
Ten minutes later, the car suddenly stopped at the roadside.
Just as Song Guanchao was about to ask her why she had stopped, he saw her open the door, get out, and walk to a nearby 24-hour pharmacy.
A moment later, she returned with a bottle of Trauma Wine.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped under Song Guanchao’s apartment building.
Song Guanchao opened the door to get out, just about to say goodbye when he saw her also getting out, locking the car in the process.
"You..."
She shook the bottle of Trauma Wine in her hand, "Come inside, let me apply it for you."
