The sounds of monster howls echoed through the morning sky as the camp started coming alive and the soldiers got to work. While they did this, Leo continued eating the Feast Stick, which he found delicious, while checking out the rest of the notifications.

Following that, Leo pulled out some Frostpeak Ale and started drinking it, which was chilly but strong. He started coughing, causing Amara to walk into the tent with a concerned expression, ’’Are you okay, Hero?’’

’’Stop calling me that. My name is Leo, not Hero,’’ he replied to the older woman while handing her an ale. ’’Try some of this Amara, it’s delicious.’’

The purple-haired woman settled beside him as she raised a flask of Frostpeak Ale to her lips, taking a hearty swig. As the last drop slid down, a shiver coursed through her body, which made him chuckle.

Wiping her lips with the back of her hand, she let out a satisfied sigh before speaking. ’’That’s delicious. Where did you find ale like this?’’

Leo didn’t answer while standing up. ’’Are we ready to move out? The caravan should arrive at Greenslade soon?’’

Amara nodded, ’’Yes, another two days and we can work from there. The outbreak originated from that area of the empire,’’ she revealed.

Following that, the two of them left the tent and waited for it to be packed up before climbing into the carriage. Leo used Mana Echo to scan their surroundings and, whenever sensing a monster, he attacked them.

His power, which wiped away the enemy with ease, amazed Amara. Leo was leveling up at a terrifying pace and the soldiers could sense it. They visibly relaxed, knowing he was there to deal with the monsters.

They only had to fight the weaker ones Leo ignored while he annihilated the creatures that would be harder to deal with. By the time they reached Greenslade, thousands of monsters ended up in his Item Box.

Leo landed outside the town gates as the caravan appeared minutes later. Amara and Octavia climbed down. The blonde princess smiled, causing him to think with a confused expression, ’She’s been hiding since we left the capital. I wonder why?’

He shook his head and let Amara deal with the town guards who opened the gate when they saw the royal carriage Octavia was traveling in. The commander, who was a man in his forties, led them inside while exclaiming, ’’Bless the emperor for sending help, Greenslade is on the brink of collapse thanks to the monster hordes.’’

The purple-haired woman waved the older man away as she replied, ’’It’s been chaotic all across the empire. We’ve been having issues containing the outbreak, but the emperor sent the strongest Hero to deal with the problem.’’

When the surrounding soldiers heard this, they turned to Leo, who was admiring the town with a mix of wooden and stone buildings. People went about their business, but most stopped to gawk at the caravan.

’Looks like they don’t see many soldiers from the capital,’ he mused while spotting a group of excited children bouncing around. ’At least they seem safe, but the monsters will break through sooner enough.’

Leo ignored them as they were led to a nearby inn where Amara spoke to the group, ’’We’ll be staying here for the next week, we need to clear out and find the source of the outbreak to put an end to the chaos plaguing Duskwood.’’

The soldiers erupted into cheers, their voices ringing through the air, but Leo remained unfazed. He casually pulled out a Griffin’s Thigh from his Item Box and began eating, the sight leaving those around him wide-eyed with shock.

Amara couldn’t suppress a giggle at the scene, her amusement clear. Meanwhile, the soldiers busied themselves setting up tents on the grassy expanse behind the inn while the commanders slipped inside.

Leo stepped inside where a young woman led him to his assigned room and when entered, he quickly noticed the sun was setting. Seeing this, he stepped into the Monster Domain, where he was met by Roxy, Bella, Luna, Agatha, and Lirael.

The four girls were sitting around drinking tea, but when they saw him, Roxy jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck. Leo smiled as he grabbed her waist before giving the tanned beauty a passionate kiss.

Minutes later, the two broke away just as Luna appeared and gave him a kiss, followed by Bella. The elf waved at him with a big smile as she spoke, ’’Hello Leo, having fun traveling with the general?’’

’’It’s not bad, it would be worse if I didn’t see you girls every night,’’ he replied while slumping into a nearby chair.

When Leo was comfortable, he pulled out six Golden Griffin Puffs and handed one to each girl. They were confused, but he quickly explained, ’’A gift from the goddess, she gave me so much food that I don’t know what to do with it.’’

’’This smells delicious babe,’’ Roxy exclaimed before taking a bite.

The others followed suit and enjoyed the food as Leo ate his while telling them everything that had been happening. Agatha was amazed by all the monsters he had killed and was excited as the monster outbreak would end soon.

’’With you out here destroying the swarms, the army will turn south to deal with the desert people,’’ the brunette announced, which made Leo nod in agreement.
