Chapter 72 Shi Feng’s Anger
Chapter 72: Chapter 72 Shi Feng’s Anger
"Stop gawking! Keep moving!" Shi Feng scolded the Martial Artists of the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group ahead.
At Shi Feng’s command, they all turned their heads back and continued on.
"What kind of flame was that just now? I felt like my Fourth-stage King Level Beast Fire was cowering in its presence. It must be due to the suppression between levels of flames," Yuel Wushuang asked Shi Feng.
"If I said it was Heavenly Fire, would you believe me?" Shi Feng said.
"Of course not. Even my master, after searching all over the Tianheng Continent, has only managed to subdue Earth Fire and Hell Black Flame," Yuel Wushuang said.
Shi Feng naturally knew of Qin Rufan’s taming of the Hell Black Flame, a feat from years ago; he remembered that when Qin Rufan found the Hell Black Flame, he even sought the help of his eldest disciple, Lingg Yefeng.
"We’re coming up to the Green Poison Swamp," a Martial Artist from the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group spoke up. Following that announcement, the crowd once again urged their Demon Wolves to stop and began to spread out to the sides.
Shi Feng urged his Demon Wolf forward and saw the endless green swamps stretching out ahead, with green bubbles and poison constantly emerging from the mire.
"The map indicates that the Green Poison Swamp stretches for twenty kilometers to the end. After this swamp is your destination. Since you’ve hired Martial Artists to go there, you must have a way to get through the swamp, right?" Shi Feng turned his head to ask Yuel Wushuang.
"Naturally," Yuel Wushuang said with a confident smile to Shi Feng before taking out a gourd from a storage ring, shaking it at Shi Feng, and saying, "Watch me."
Upon finishing his words, Yuel Wushuang uncapped the gourd and poured a stream of white powder toward the swamp. As the powder fell into the swamp,
People noticed that the mire, which looked soft and was somewhere between liquid and solid state, suddenly began to solidify as if freezing, and though Yuel Wushuang had only poured it at the forefront, a large area in front quickly became solid.
After all that, Yuel Wushuang turned back and said to Shi Feng with a smile, "This powder was specially developed by me for these poisonous swamps and can temporarily freeze them for an hour and a half."
"Good! Let’s continue," Shi Feng nodded and said. "But this time, you take the lead, I’ll protect you."
"As it should be—that’s what you’re supposed to do," Yuel Wushuang said with a smile.
"Everyone, pay attention to your surroundings!" Shi Feng ordered the fourteen Martial Artists, then proceeded ahead with Yuel Wushuang, while the mercenaries behind them kept vigilant eyes on their surroundings, watching for sudden attacks from demon beasts.
This place was said to be home to a Fourth-stage King Level demon beast and other poisonous beasts of various ranks; no one dared to take it lightly.
Sure enough, the group hadn’t traveled far when a black poisonous frog the size of a dog leaped out from the green mire in front, opening its repugnant mouth to spray out a black poison mist. Seeing this, Shi Feng emitted a Sword Qi that cut through the black mist, then sliced the frog in two.
In the sky, a swarm of Green Poison Mosquitoes appeared, instantly annihilated by Shi Feng’s unleashed Blood-colored Sea of Fire.
Every so often as they encountered green mire on their path, Yuel Wushuang would pour out white powder from the gourd. Shi Feng and the warriors of the Demon Wolf Mercenary Group fought off waves of attacking demon beasts, and in the midst of it all, Yuel Wushuang would also cast the Nine Nether Soul-shocking Seal to aid in the battle.
Shi Feng leaped into the air and with a single swing of his sword, he split a giant python-sized, two-winged black poison centipede in half before landing back on the Demon Wolf. At that moment, Yuel Wushuang turned her head and said to him, "The Poison Beasts here really are numerous. Without you, I’m afraid the Martial Artists I recruited would have suffered heavy casualties by the time they got here."
"If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have made it here at all; you would have become a snack for the Yin Wolves in the Yin Forest," Shi Feng replied.
"That’s true," Yuel Wushuang nodded earnestly, then she turned the mouth of her gourd towards the mud pit in front and poured in white powder.
After doing all this, Yuel Wushuang turned her head back to look at Shi Feng and smiled at him again, "Thank you!"
"Crack!" Suddenly, a sound like ice fracturing filled the air. Shi Feng saw that Yuel Wushuang, who had just smiled at him, along with the Demon Wolf she had been riding, had both disappeared.
Shi Feng hurriedly looked down to the area where Yuel Wushuang had just been and saw a huge, seemingly bottomless pit had appeared on the green ground.
"Wushuang! Damn it!" Shi Feng roared in anger. Yuel Wushuang had been abducted right under his nose!
"Everyone stay right here!" Shi Feng shouted at the Martial Artists of the Demon Wolf Corps and then leaped down into the gigantic pit, the world around him instantly replaced by darkness.
Then, with a "plop!" Shi Feng felt himself plunging into the mud pit, his vision engulfed in a green haze—this was the depth of the Green Poison Swamp that Yuel Wushuang’s powder had not solidified.
Submerged at the bottom of the swamp, a nauseating stench assailed his nostrils, smelling like rotting corpses. At that instant, from all directions, green Poison Scorpions, green unknown bizarre poisonous bugs, black poison centipedes, and black Poison Toads, together with green Poison Snakes, one poison creature after another, both familiar and unheard of, all converged on Shi Feng.
"Burn!" Shi Feng commanded inwardly, and blazing Blood-colored Flames erupted from his entire body, spreading in all directions. Many of the Poison Beasts that hadn’t yet approached were incinerated into nothingness by the flames.
"There!" Shi Feng had imprinted a talisman on the Demon Wolf, and he quickly sensed its location, breaking through and rushing towards it. At that moment, a huge Third-stage Green Venom Spider that had survived the blaze of the Blood Flame blocked Shi Feng’s path.
Shi Feng thrusted his sword, using his movement technique to pierce through the Green Venom Spider’s head from behind in a swift motion, then continued without pause towards the sensed location of the Demon Wolf.
"Kill! Kill! Kill!"
"Burn!"
Shi Feng charged forward, burning and killing any Poison Beasts in his way until he arrived at the entrance of a massive cave. It was situated at the bottom of the mud pit. Without hesitating, Shi Feng charged through and discovered an invisible Prohibition at the entrance. It was this very Prohibition that kept the cave separate from the muddy waters outside, preventing the swamps from flooding into the cave.
Shi Feng made contact with the Prohibition and found it too inferior to stop him. A mark was imprinted, and he rushed unobstructed into the cave.
Inside the cave was dark and emitted a strange green light. Every three meters or so, the ceiling of the cave was embedded with a green, strange stone, which emitted a faint green glow.
Shi Feng, worried about Yuel Wushuang, had no time to marvel at the cave’s peculiar sights and bolted inside as soon as he entered.
At that moment, Shi Feng also realized from the cave’s entrance Prohibition and its layout that everything here was man-made, and Yuel Wushuang had been abducted by someone. "They’re practically courting death!" Shi Feng fumed as he ran furiously through the cave.
