Chapter 209 Southern City

Chapter 209: Chapter 209 Southern City

The young man surnamed Ding, hearing the discussions about their identities around him, grew even more arrogant. With his hands clasped behind his back, he advanced step by step and continued to say, "If it weren’t for Frost City’s rule against killing, you and your dog would have been dead long ago for being such a clueless dog. Now, I’ll count to three, and you and your dog better disappear from my sight, or you know what the consequences will be!"

"One!" The young man in white, surnamed Ding, was already coldly staring at Shi Feng and Wu Xiaoyun, starting to count.

"Count your sister!" Shi Feng, seeing the pretentious air of the white-clad youth, raised his head and his right hand, which suddenly lit up with a dazzling, bone-white light, and slapped straight towards the pretentious Ding.

"Huh! Courting death!" The young man in white hadn’t expected that, after the discussions of the people around, someone would still dare to make a move on him, knowing his identity—especially someone he completely looked down upon, a weak Three-star Martial Monarch who dared to strike him. This was undoubtedly a death wish.

The young man in white kept his right hand clasped behind him, and, with contempt and casualness, raised his left hand to grab at the hand Shi Feng had swung at him. Thoughts flashed through his mind like lightning, and a cold smile appeared on his lips; he’d already thought of dozens of ways to torment Shi Feng.

Yet immediately after, although everyone clearly saw the young man in white grab Shi Feng’s hand, somehow, they saw Shi Feng’s hand pass through the white-clad youth’s hand. Then, echoing between heaven and earth, was a crisp "snap".

On the arrogantly smug face of the white-clad young man, a deep five-fingered handprint now appeared. Having been slapped, he felt as if his entire world became incredibly surreal, standing blankly in place, "How could this be... how could this happen..." The proud genius disciple of the Spirit Dark Sect had never suffered such humiliation, let alone from a piece of Three-star Martial Monarch trash.

Immediately, the white-clad youth snapped back to reality, his face filling with rage as he roared at Shi Feng, "You dared to hit me! Today, you must die!"

As he shouted in fury, his hands burst with fierce blue Fiery Flames, radiating intense heat and burning fiercely.

"Scram!" Shi Feng snorted coldly, and with another slap of his right hand—with a speed the white-clad youth simply couldn’t react to—he struck his face again. A crisp "snap!" resounded through heaven and earth. This time, the furiously fuming young man was directly sent flying by Shi Feng’s slap.

"Is... is this real? That white-clad youth is in the Nine-star Martial Emperor Realm, yet he was slapped in the face twice by this youth! And this youth is just in the Three-star Martial Monarch Realm!" someone said in disbelief.

"Maybe this youth has mastered some ultimate skill in slapping faces," suggested another.

"But, he’s from the Spirit Dark Sect, right? Rumor has it that the Sect takes care of their own, so I doubt they’ll let this go so easily."

"That will depend on the power backing this youth. If he dares to oppose the Spirit Dark Sect, his support must also be strong."

"It must be strong. Look at the young age of this youth, he has already reached the Three-star Martial Monarch Realm, and he can even challenge a Nine-star Martial Emperor, stepping beyond his level. He must belong to some great force’s lineage of extraordinary youth."

"Indeed, he must be!"

After sending that young man in white flying, Shi Feng still looked coldly into the inn, where two more young men shivered under his icy gaze as if being targeted by a fierce beast, hastily running out to join their fallen brother, Ding Zhong.

"Let’s go," Shi Feng said to Long Meng, Wu Xiaoyun, and Yee Wuxie, then led them into the inn.

Brother Ding was helped up from the ground by his fellow disciples, his fists clenched, body trembling, face twisted in a snarl, eyes filled with venomous hatred as he stared at the fading figures of Shi Feng and the others into the inn.

"I, Ding Zhong, swear this vendetta will be fulfilled, or I fail to be human!" Ding Zhong’s body shook more violently, his fingers digging fiercely into his palms, blood flowing from them as if he felt nothing.

"Xiaoyun, do you realize the trouble you’ve stirred up this time!" Just then, an elderly man resembling an innkeeper said to Wu Xiaoyun. This man was the shopkeeper of the Ten Thousand Guests Inn, Old Qian, the friend Wu Xiaoyun had mentioned.

Shopkeeper Qian then continued, "Those young men are from the Spirit Dark Sect! That’s one of the great forces of Heavenly Mist Empire, with unimaginable depths. Xiaoyun, I advise you not to stay here any longer; better flee for your lives."

"Enough with your rambling," Shi Feng interjected impatiently. "There are four rooms left, right? We’ll take them all." Although Old Qian wanted to keep talking, having just seen Shi Feng strike the Spirit Dark Sect’s genius disciples, he feared aggravating this dangerous man and possibly invoking his wrath, opting to remain silent and instructing the waiter to proceed with the check-in.

Shi Feng and his group, one room per person, took up the four corners on the second floor, with Shi Feng and Long Meng taking the central rooms, flanked by Yee Wuxie and Wu Xiaoyun on either side.

Long Meng, already overcome with sleepiness, began to snore softly shortly after entering her room.

Yee Wuxie and Wu Xiaoyun also retreated to their respective rooms, while Shi Feng stepped back outside of the inn, intending to venture out to see if the Sacred Flame Assembly had unearthed anything new near Southern City.

With Frost City now teeming with a mix of people, flying within the city had been forbidden, a decree that no one dared defy. Everyone knew that Frost City now sheltered a mysterious and powerful presence. Even Shi Feng could sense an unfathomable force emanating from the direction of the City Lord Mansion.

Unable to fly, he sprinted southward, taking a full hour to reach the gate of South City. Outside, the crowds had thickened considerably, all drawn by Blood Light’s allure and hopeful for a clue—perhaps believing destiny favored them, that Heavenly Earth Strange Treasure might fall inexplicably upon them, granting them a Peerless Divine Artifact or Divine Art, thereafter becoming the foremost under heaven, reigning over Tianheng Continent, a terror in all directions, revered by the multitude.

Once outside the city gate, Shi Feng ascended into the Void and, pausing midair, asked Sacred Flame, "Do you sense anything?"

"Wait!" Sacred Flame replied.

Shi Feng then began to float slowly in the Void, hoping the movement would help Sacred Flame make a discovery.
