Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Wang Yao Advanced Again (Fifth Update)
As soon as Leng Xin made a move, Shi Feng sensed it and saw Leng Xin lunge fiercely with a claw, aiming for the power of Martial King. Full of disdain, Shi Feng directly struck back with the Nine Nether Soul-Shaking Seal.
Leng Xin saw his right claw was about to strike Shi Feng’s chest, just inches away from piercing through, when suddenly his head was wracked with intense pain, as if his soul were being hammered brutally, issuing a mournful howl.
Immediately after, Shi Feng’s hand moved with the Bloodthirsty Sword; Leng Xin still airborne with a head full of pain, and from the beheaded corpse kneeling on the ground, copious blood sprayed toward Shi Feng, turning the body instantly desiccated.
Even the head flying in the air spilled blood onto Shi Feng, then, as if drained of blood, the wrinkled, shriveled head fell to the ground.
Lord of Western Wasteland City, a Nine-star Martial King Realm power, Leng Xin, had fallen.
"Leng Xin, to die just like that." Many people muttered in dismay. Just a short while ago, the imposing City Lord of the Western Wasteland had become nothing but a shriveled corpse, not even a whole one at that.
Then, the blood-curdling scream from Leng Feng also ceased, and the blood-colored flame rolled back into Shi Feng’s body. The Young City Lord of the Western Wasteland was burned to death, having suffered immeasurably agonizing torment while alive and leaving not even ashes after death.
At that moment, all of Western Wasteland City became eerily silent. The people didn’t even notice when the violent winds had stopped or when the swirling sands had vanished.
Looking at the densely packed Black-armored Cavalry kneeling before him, Shi Feng flicked his finger, launching a fist-sized, ghostly white seal into the void, where it violently burst apart, splitting into over a hundred smaller ghostly white seals that dispersed into the bodies of the more than a hundred Black-armored Cavalry.
These hundred-plus Cavalry, initially gathered for Shi Feng to scout when entering the ruins of the Northwest Desert, were mere soldiers. Although they now seemed devoutly worshipful as they kneeled before him, if he were but a weak Little Martial Practitioner, they would mount their warhorses and charge at him.
"All of you, gather at the North City Gate," Shi Feng commanded the Cavalry.
"Sir!"
"At your command!"
Each, upon hearing Shi Feng’s command, respectfully complied and then stood up, mounted the Black-armored warhorses beside them, and spurred their steeds toward the North City Gate immediately.
Shi Feng turned around, looking back at Wang Yao and said, "This settles things between us, Wang Yao."
"That is natural, certainly natural," Wang Yao quickly nodded in response, who dared disagree? The incident the other night involved only leading away his white horse, without any expectation of favors, if I had known a white horse could lead to this outcome, I would have prepared hundreds, even thousands more that night for you to lead away.
Realizing he might have misspoken, Wang Yao bowed deeply to Shi Feng and said, "Wang Yao thanks Young Master Feng for saving my life this time! Should Young Master Feng need anything in the future, just call on Wang Yao, and I shall serve like a dog or horse for Young Master Feng."
"That’s enough, no need for that," Shi Feng said, "You, a Two-star Martial Spirit Practitioner, offer nothing of use to me." His words were blunt and straightforward, disregarding Wang Yao’s feelings.
"Ghost Wolf," Shi Feng looked up into the void and suddenly shouted, "Roar!" Suddenly, a black figure flew from the void, the Ghost Wolf, flapping its black flesh wings, descended toward the city of the Western Wasteland.
"My beast is even more formidable than you," Shi Feng said as he watched the descending Ghost Wolf.
Even a beast is more formidable than me, saying that I’m even less than a beast!
Shi Feng’s words, stirred Wang Yao to tightly clench his fists.
As the Ghost Wolf landed, Shi Feng leaped onto its back, then waved at Wang Yao, "Fatty shorty, goodbye!"
Fat and short! Wang Yao clenched his fists tighter.
"Ghost Wolf, let’s go!" Shi Feng commanded, and the Ghost Wolf ascended, heading north.
Wang Yao, looking up, watched the figure gradually disappearing to the north, and suddenly his entire body began to tremble violently, "I must become stronger! I absolutely must become stronger! Ah!" Wang Yao howled at the sky, and suddenly a flash of white light enveloped him, advancing him directly from the Two-star Martial Spirit Realm to the Three-star Martial Spirit.
"Look, that fat guy just now seemed to have advanced!" In a tavern, suddenly someone cried out in surprise.
Soon after, someone seriously nodded and said, "Yeah, I just saw Young Master Feng seem to say something to him; he definitely received guidance in Martial Arts from Young Master Feng, which allowed him to successfully advance."
"Yes! It must be so!" Another person hastily nodded in agreement and seriously added, "With Young Master Feng’s knowledge in Martial Arts, guiding someone in the Two-star Martial Spirit Realm to advance wouldn’t be difficult at all. That fat guy really has some good fortune from a previous life!"
"Truly some good fortune indeed!"
"Ah, what a lucky fat man!"
I wonder if Wang Yao, hearing these comments, would be angered enough to successfully advance another star.
...
Riding the Ghost Wolf, Shi Feng quickly arrived at the North City Gate of Western Wasteland City, where over a hundred Black-armored Cavalry had already assembled. Shi Feng coldly ordered them, "Depart, and keep heading north."
"My lord!" Just as Shi Feng finished speaking, a member of the Black-armored Iron Cavalry respectfully called out, addressing Shi Feng in the void, "May I ask how long we are to head north? If we keep going this way, we will enter the Lizardman Clan’s territory."
"Oh? The Lizardman Clan." Upon hearing the name, Shi Feng recalled having seen Lizardmen before—upright bodies, walking erect like humans, about the same height as the Human Clan, with the heads and skin of lizards and a lizard’s tail dragging behind them.
"What is the highest realm of strength among the Lizardman Clan?" Shi Feng inquired.
"In the Lizard Tribe, there is the Lizard Ancestor, whose strength is said to be extremely terrifying. As for which Realm, your subordinate is not sure," the man replied.
"Then take a look, see if we might enter the Lizardman Clan’s territory." Saying this, Shi Feng pulled out the Beast Skin Map and handed it to the Black-armored Cavalry member.
The Black-armored Cavalry member took the Beast Skin Map from Shi Feng and after scrutinizing it for a while, spoke to Shi Feng in a deep voice, "Reporting to the boss, according to the destination marked on the map, if we keep going straight, we will not only enter the Lizardman Clan’s territory but will also enter the Snake-man Clan’s territory. Your subordinate suggests that we take a detour, although it will mean arriving a few days late, it will help us avoid some unnecessary troubles."
After hearing this, Shi Feng nodded and then asked, "What is your name?"
"Reporting to my lord, your subordinate is Long Xiaotian!"
"Good," Shi Feng nodded again after listening, "You are a smart person. From now on, you are the commander of this Black-armored Iron Cavalry, and this unit will be under your command from now on!"
"Thank you, my lord!"
Being the commander of the Black-armored Iron Cavalry may sound trivial, but it actually carries significant meaning. As the commander, when it’s time to face death, one can simply send others in one’s place.
