Chapter 92: EDDISON’S FURNITURE

After her classes, Aristia flopped down on her bed. Her shoulders were still a bit stiff from etiquette class, and her feet hurt a bit from dance class.

Adeline came over and started to massage her stiff shoulders.

Aristia sighed in satisfaction as she felt her stiff nerves loosen up and relax. After a while, she took a deep breath and rolled over. "Thank you, Linny." After she had rested enough, she got up.

"Time to get down to business. Literally." She turned to Adeline. "Linny, get changed. We’re heading out. Tell Owen."

Adeline nodded and left to carry out her orders. She came back not long after putting on commoner clothes. She went into Aristia’s wardrobe and came out carrying a beige dress and coat.

Adeline helped her wear the dress and cloak, and they headed out of her room.

They met Owen on the way out of the palace.

"Everything is ready, princess." Owen informed, coming to stand in front of her.

"Good. Did you inform my mother?" Aristia asked.

"I did." Owen nodded, not looking her in the eyes. He was still embarrassed from the incident the other day.

"Aristia nodded, resuming her steps. "Then, let’s go."

The Coachman was waiting for them outside the palace.

He held open the carriage door and bowed. "Greetings, princess." He held out his hand to help Aristia enter the carriage.

"Hello, Lucas." Aristia replied and climbed into the carriage.

"Where shall I take you, Your Highness?" Lucas asked as he rode the carriage out of the palace gates.

"To Eddison’s Furniture." Aristia replied.

Her father had given her the name of the place where she could get quality furniture for the restaurant.

"Hyah!" The carriage sped through the streets of the capital into the Aristocrats’ district and stopped at a two story building with a large wooden plaque with the words Eddison’s Furniture written on them.

"Will you drink the potion?" Adeline asked.

"Yes, but not now." Aristia replied.

Lucas parked the carriage at the side, and Aristia, Owen and Adeline alighted the carriage.

They entered the building. It seemed empty since there was no one in sight. Aristia looked around and saw various furniture.

A second later, a good-looking man who looked to be in his early thirties with sandy brown hair and brown eyes came toward them.

"Howdy! Welcome to Eddison’s Furniture. I am Eddison. How may I help you?" The man, Eddison, introduced with a wide smile.

[Sandy brown hair and brown eyes. Cheerful. Quirky. Eddison. Yup. He’s the guy.]

"Hello, Mister Eddison. We came to take a look at the furniture." Aristia said.

"Take a look at the furniture here, Miss. Is there any one that catches your eye?" Eddison asked.

Aristia looked around. The furniture was indeed of good quality but it wasn’t what she wanted.

She shook her head and turned to Eddison. "I would like to see the Silver Collection." She stated calmly.

Eddison’s eyes flashed with surprise, and he glanced at her again. Then, he smiled. "Come with me," he said and turned around to head further into the shop.

He led them up a staircase and through a dimly lit corridor towards a door at the other end of the hall. He held the door open for them to enter, and then closed the door behind him.

The room looked like an office. There was a brown mahogany desk and chair placed opposite the door. It could be seen as soon as the door was opened. There were some files arranged on top of the desk.

He walked around them to stand in front of them. "Excuse me for not introducing myself earlier." Aristia pulled down the hood of her cloak.

"There is no need for introductions." Eddison replied. He would be blind to not be able to tell. Her gray hair and purple eyes said everything. Plus, how would he not know the child of his old friend? He had been expecting her.

"Greetings, third princess." He bowed.

Aristia nodded. "My father told me to meet you."

Wilson had given her the location of a man he referred to as one of his old friends. He had told her to mention the Silver Collection once she met Eddison. He also described his features and character so that she would be able to identify him when the time came.

"So I was told, princess." Eddison nodded with a smile.

He walked towards the desk and pulled open a compartment. Then, he brought out a folded parchment.

He unfolded it and handed it to Aristia. "This is the Silver Collection. It contains designs of furniture that cannot be found in the shop downstairs. Those in the shop are non-exclusive. The furniture designs here are exclusive. If a client chooses any, it will be removed from the collection and will not be replicated."

Aristia nodded. She liked it. It made these ones unique. She carefully scanned through the designs. They were all very good. She kept looking until she found one which caught her interest. It was different from the others in the parchment.

It was a chair with a very regal design. It literally screamed ’I’m The Boss’.

She pointed at that one. "I want this."

Eddison revealed a look of surprise, then interest. "That is the best design in the Silver collection."

Aristia still continued to scan the designs. She found another design which she liked. It wasn’t on the same level as the first one she chose, but it was another notable design.

"I also want this one." She stated.

Eddison raised a brow. She wanted two designs of chairs? Nevertheless, he nodded.

"I see. You have good taste, Princess." He said.

"I want only one of this design made. But for the other, make six hundred." Aristia instructed.

Eddison was curious. What would she need six hundred chairs for?

Aristia went ahead to choose table designs she liked along with the quantity she needed. She also chose a few sofa designs.

"I want to add some designs to the first chair design I chose." Aristia said. Then, she explained what she wanted to be included in the design.

"I would like for you to begin production at the earliest. Send the bill to the Grand Duke’s Mansion." Aristia finished and returned the parchment containing the designs to Eddison. Needless to say, the price of the exclusive chair designs would not be little.

They exited the office and went back downstairs.

Downstairs, Aristia turned to face Eddison.

"I want non-exclusive chairs. I need the same number of six hundred."

At her words, Eddison was even more curious.

"When do you estimate the furnitures will be ready?" Aristia asked.

"Approximately two months." Eddison said. "When would you need it?"

"Coincidentally, in two months." Aristia said and Eddison nodded.

"It will be ready by then, princess." He said.

Aristia was done here so she turned to leave. She pulled the cloak back over her head.

"Goodbye, princess." Eddison waved and Aristia nodded and waved back.

"I wonder what she needs that amount of furniture for." He muttered to himself. "Well, I’ll find out sooner or later."

When they were no more in sight, Eddison turned around. There was no smile on his face and the happy-go-lucky expression Aristia had seen on his face was no where to be found.

The next moment, his face lit up with a smile and he chuckled while shaking his head.

"Oh, Wilson, your daughter seems different from what I’ve heard and know."

Meanwhile, Aristia led Owen and Adeline further into the street and into a corner. She took out a vial and drank its contents. Because of the cloak covering her hair, the process of her hair and eyes changing colors was not witnessed by anyone.

"Princess, what else do you want to purchase?" Adeline whispered softly to Aristia as they left the corner.

"I want to check out some cutlery." Aristia replied.

They stopped in front of a store that sold kitchen utensils. This time, they didn’t waste much time. They just chose the utensils and cutlery they needed and told the staff the quantity they needed. Adeline did most of the talking.

As they strolled through the section of the store that contained pots and pans. Aristia chose a few when she came across a wok*.

"We’ll buy this." She told Adeline, pointing at the wok. Since there was a wok, did that mean that there were countries similar to eastern culture in the book world?

The salesgirl who accompanied them came forward. "Miss, you should buy this pan. It was brought to Amberale from a distant kingdom in the East. There are only very few of it in the store." She finished cheerfully.

Adeline stole a glance at Aristia who nodded subtly in approval, then she turned to face the salesgirl. "Pack them all."

The salesgirl’s eyes showed surprise, then she smiled widely. "Right away, Miss."

The salesgirl was obviously very happy. After all, someone was purchasing kitchen utensils and cutlery in large quantities in one go.

She looked at the three people who were purchasing the utensils in the store. Judging from their dressing, they seemed like commoners. They were wearing cloaks so she couldn’t see most of their features.

Perhaps they were servants of wealthy families who were purchasing the items for their master’s household.

Aristia and Owen were disguised to look like commoners. AristiaThey consumed the hair and eye changing potion after they exited Eddison’s carpentry store, while Owen had done so immediately they had left the palace.

Therefore, anyone who saw them would think they were wealthy commoners since they could shop in the Aristocrats’ District, or servants to wealthy people.

"Send it to the Grand Duke’s Mansion." Adeline said.

On hearing that, the salesgirl felt that her analysis was correct. These customers were definitely servants from the Grand Duke’s Mansion.

"Right away, Miss." She nodded her head in reply to Adeline’s words and watched as they left the store.

They headed back to the carriage. It had taken about one hour to finish purchasing goods from those two stores.

"Lucas, let’s leave this place." Aristia knocked on the carriage partition seperating the Coachman from the people in the carriage and pushed it open.

Lucas gave an affirmative answer and rode the carriage away from the Aristocrats’ District.

"Is there anything else we need to buy, Princess?" Owen asked. He had been silent during the entire journey.

"No. Actually..." Aristia shared her plan with them. "We’re going to meet Dahlia and Dorothy."
