Chapter 22: Haniel

A young man dressed in a white coat over a white linen shirt walked through a dimly lit, narrow corridor. His top felt hat covered his blood red eyes from the flickering radiance of wall torches. His short white hair swayed in the midnight breeze.

A pleasant smile was painted on his face as he walked through the corridor with something in his fist.

After a few seconds, he stopped in front of a large door, guarded by two tall, muscular guards.

"I am here to see the empress."

The guards examined him for a moment before opening the door for him to enter.

The young man gave a pleasant smile to the two guards and entered through the open doors.

Inside was a massive bedroom, decorated with different drawings, statues, expensive furniture, and numerous luxurious items.

In the middle of the room was a massive bed, and on it were two women enjoying their time.

One women was licking the other women’s pussy while the other enjoyed every lick with a moan.

The one getting licked had the same features as the young man. White hair and blood red eyes were the most significant similarities they had.

The young man stopped in front of the two women and lightly coughed, causing the one receiving to look at him with dazed eyes.

"Mmmmhhhhh, Haniel, you came. Aah. Tell me, did he beg for his life?"

Haniel lingered for a moment and said with his same creepy smile.

"I am sorry, sister, but we failed to kill King Leonardo."

As soon as she heard that, the girl sat up in panic. The girl who was serving her was thrown away to the side by the force.

"What did you say? You didn’t kill him? Then what did you do in those three weeks with the seventh and sixth regiments?"

Haniel put his hand on his chin and acted like he was thinking deeply. Then, after a few seconds, he gave the same pleasant smile and said.

"Well, we did a lot of things. Me and my best buddy Rodriguz marched a small army through the northern mountain chain. Then we pillaged some villages along the way. Also, Rodriguz’s daddy went on a scout mission, which is pretty stupid considering how big he is. Then we ambushed the King’s party and killed his son. Then my best buddy, Rodriguz, went to kill Leonardo and got killed. I was the only one who survived."

Haniel’s sister looked at him with bafflement and confusion. She tilted her head and asked.

"What? How did Rodriguz die?"

Haniel looked at the girl for a moment before answering her with the same smile.

"There was a powerful woman who was calling herself a dragon. When Rodriguz was going there with the seventh regiment, they encountered her and got wiped out."

"After a while, a friend of hers came to the scene as well. It was....Unbelievably powerful. Whatever that thing was, it’s very hard to kill. I think that thing was the woman’s master."

He then waited for a moment and said without any hint of fear or intimidation.

"Hannah, it seems like there is a new guardian angel in the northern kingdom...a very powerful guardian. For now, I advise you to lay low."

Hannah stared at her brother’s eyes for a moment before getting off the bed.

Then she put a white robe around her pale but beautiful body and walked toward a big window containing the view of the Red Empire.

"If that’s what you say, brother, I will believe it."

She looked at the Red Empire for a moment like she was hypnotized by its beauty. Then she closed her eyes and exhaled a long breath.

"Okay, I will tell my generals to delay the preparations for now. It would be a wise thing to attack now since Leonardo will surely suspect us and would get ready...But if there really is a powerhouse guarding the northern kingdom, then we can’t be reckless... We will lay off for now until you find a solution."

She then turned toward Haniel and asked.

"How much time do you need to kill them?"

Haniel smirked while meeting her gaze. Then, after a moment, he replied in a calm tone.

"Give me one year and I will bring you these newcomers’ heads."

In a room illuminated by the pale moonlight sat a young man dressed in formal white clothes.

Haniel scraped dried blood from a black needle and put it on a blue shimmering stone. When the blood touched the stone, a blue holographic-like panel with runes appeared in front of his eyes.

’Hmm, let’s see.’

He squinted his eyes and looked at the floating blue runes in front of him with curiosity.

’Chloe...There is no surname, that’s odd.’

’Archon level, she is strong, no wonder Rodriguz got obliterated.’

After saying that, his eyes wandered to the class and the class rank. When he saw the runes he was seeking, his eyes widened, and a chill ran down his spine.

’Hell dragon? Legendary rank? There is-There is no way. How can someone this powerful exist in the northern kingdom? What the heck is going on in the kingdom?’

His gaze darkened as he looked away from the runes. He stayed motionless for a moment and chuckled lightly in the moonlight.

He then looked toward the pale moon with a menacing look on his face.

’...Doesn’t matter though, at the end of the day I always win.’

Then he picked up a decapitated female head from the table and kissed it hungrily.

He drank the fresh blood mixed with his sister’s aroma from the mouth of the girl.

After the head became a bloodless, pale corpse, he threw it away and licked his lips.

"I love my sister’s taste.’

"God of Fire and Sun, forgive me for I have committed sins. Take my life and purify my soul, who has participated in these evil rituals."

Helen closed her eyes and thrust the blade into her neck.

Ian panicked and ran toward the woman in the hope of saving her.

Even though the time to reach her was much longer than the time the blade took to hit her neck, he still got there in time.

He doesn’t know how, but he instantly teleported near her and caught the blade in mid-air.

Helen opened her eyes and looked at him with confusion.

"Si-Sir Ian, Wh-What are you doing here?"

Ian met her gaze and pulled the knife from her hand. He then put it inside his inventory and asked with a slightly angry tone.

"What are you doing? Are you trying to kill yourself?"

Helen trembled a little from the question and hurriedly directed her gaze elsewhere.

"It-it’s not like that?"

Ian raised his eyebrow and asked in a questioning tone.

"Don’t lie to me, Helen. I saw you trying to kill yourself, and I want to know why. right now."

Helen turned her head downward and covered her face with her hands. Then she said in a weak, trembling voice.

"I had to...What you did yesterday was evil."

Ian tilted his head in confusion. Then he met Helen’s gaze and asked in a curious tone.

"You mean the Cucking?"

Helen’s head perked up as she nodded and said.

"Yes, yes, the thing you did to us in front of Leonardo is an evil ritual condemned by all seven churches. Those who are found doing so are burned alive in the city square. I don’t want to die like that. So I tried to kill myself and asked for forgiveness from the god of the sun in the afterlife."
