Chapter 785: Keep Chen Chu, Damn Mating Season (II)
The Silver Dragon opened its mouth with a roar of excitement, and unleashed a powerful suction that drew one high-grade pearl straight into its gullet.
Boom!
A surge of immense energy erupted from within the Silver Dragon. Its entire body radiated a dazzling silver light, gleaming like a mighty dragon cast from pure silver.
The Golden-Blue Dragon didn’t hold back either. Overjoyed, it swallowed the other high-level divine pearl. In the next instant, energy exploded within it, and its whole body shone with a resplendent, stunningly magnificent rainbow-hued glow.
Compared to the pure-silver dragon, whose only color variation was the dorsal fin on its back, the Golden-Blue Dragon appeared even more elegant and radiant, with crystalline scales like flowing gems.
So radiant... Damn it, I can’t believe I just thought a dragon looked beautiful. The Dragon Emperor blinked in genuine bewilderment, golden vertical pupils flashing with disbelief.
What is going on? Am I entering mating season or something? Why have I been getting these troublesome urges lately, thinking those two dragons are attractive?
Seeing the black-and-red colossal beast staring off in a daze, the Kunpeng flapped its dark golden wings and flew up to its face, letting out a flattering chirp. Thunder Fiery! Thunder Fiery! What about me? I want something tasty too!
Snapping back to its senses, the Dragon Emperor suppressed the strange impulse stirring within and lowly growled, You, Zhulong, and Qiongqi—three middle-level pearls each.
As the Dragon Emperor spoke, nine divine pearls the size of water tanks, glowing with radiant blue halos, floated over to the three mythical colossal beasts.
Thank you, my king! Qiongqi’s voice trembled with excitement as it stared at the pearls, the combined energy equivalent to two top-level divine items.
Sure enough, following a boss like this meant enjoying the finest things in life. It had only been with the Dragon Palace for less than a month, yet it had already raked in such a bounty.
Even the usually sluggish Zhulong couldn’t hold back this time. Along with the others, it swallowed the three pearls. In the next instant, wild energy erupted from within them as well.
Of the remaining six middle-level pearls, the female orca received two, while the Dragon Turtle, the Nine-Headed Serpent, the Blue Giant Crab, and the black orca each received one.
On top of that, each beast received ten low-level divine pearls produced by level 9 Ancient Clams. The few leftover pearls were handed to the young female orca.
Once all of the pearls had been handed out, the Dragon Emperor turned toward the Longjia King and growled, Alicia, once Saixitia and the others wake up, take them to the Black Abyssal Lizardmen's lair. Have Saixitia lead the operation, but be careful—don’t let anything go wrong.
“Yes, my king.” The Longjia King bowed respectfully.
Though Alicia was a middle-stage titan, capable of blasting the beginning-stage mythical-level Silver Dragon apart with a single slap, she dared not show even the slightest disrespect.
Since the Dragon Emperor had declared it the great king of the Dragon Palace, no one would dare treat the Silver Dragon lightly.
The Dragon Emperor was quite pleased with Alicia’s conduct. Her strength was formidable, but more importantly, she understood the situation, knew her role, and stayed in her lane. That kind of awareness was rare among colossal beasts.
Due to your status as a titan-level being, from today onward, you are the eighth Dragon King of the Dragon Palace, it growled. As the Longjia King, you will continue to command your people. Your status is second only to mine and Saixitia’s.
As for Kerla and that special Draconic Horse, they’ll be vanguard generals like Qiongqi, and will be under your command.
The Longjia King had performed well and was no weakling either, so the Dragon Emperor decided to make an exception for her.
A genuine smile spread across Alicia’s face.
All right, let everyone get back to their tasks. With that, the Dragon Emperor signaled Alicia to disperse the hundreds of thousands of bowing Longjia, along with the thousand-plus colossal beasts above level 7 circling the island. Then, it slowly turned around.
It was time to eat.
Boom!
The Titanic Flame Whale’s thick armored scales shattered under the Dragon Emperor’s jagged, razor-sharp fangs, and its flesh erupted with thunderous explosions as it was torn apart piece by piece.
The flesh of a titan-level colossal beast had long transcended the concept of "toughness.” Even in death, it could remain incorruptible for hundreds of thousands of years, unless the laws infused within it began to dissipate.
It was virtually impossible to digest such flesh unless one was a fellow titan-level being. A mythical-level beast would take ages to process even a single bite, if its teeth didn’t break apart first.
Yet the Dragon Emperor merely chewed twice with booming crunches and swallowed a chunk of flesh over a hundred meters in size. An intense burst of energy, rich with law particles, instantly surged and spread throughout its stomach.
Crunch! Crunch!
The Dragon Emperor’s body swelled slightly in size. This rate of energy conversion and growth made the Longjia King’s eye twitch again in disbelief.
As the Dragon Emperor continued to devour the titan’s flesh, its already immense body grew visibly heavier, and the aura emanating from it grew increasingly dreadful, causing the world itself to tremble ever so slightly.
At the same time, a steady stream of evolutionary energy flowed from within the Dragon Emperor’s body, traveling along the soul passage that spanned across time and space to appear within Chen Chu’s body and heal his wounds.
However, whether due to the immense space-time distance, or because most of the evolutionary energy was still "en route," barely one percent of it was reaching the past.
While the Titanic Flame Whale had been at the same stage as the golden Dapeng, it was nearly three times larger in mass. Naturally, the biological energy it contained was far greater.
If the Dragon Emperor consumed this Flame Whale’s entire body, along with the flesh of the other two mythical-level Black Flame Whales, it could grow by over a hundred meters.
That wasn’t much, but its colossal form already far surpassed that of other titan beasts. For every single meter of growth, the energy required was dozens, even hundreds of times greater than normal.
Especially once it reached the peak of the titan level, around three to four thousand meters in length, the energy needed for each additional meter would be astronomically higher due to the massive scaling of its form.
As it devoured the Flame Whale’s flesh, the Dragon Emperor’s gaze shifted toward the distant sky, deep in thought.
Hundreds of kilometers away, a massive clam shell emerged from the sea, towering over a thousand meters high and spanning more than four kilometers wide like a small island.
That Ancient Divine Clam’s raw energy alone rivaled that of ancient colossal beasts. The energy contained in its flesh would be just as formidable.
If it could consume that clam, the biological energy gained could potentially be enough to propel it straight to the middle stage of the titan level. The Dragon Emperor couldn’t help but feel tempted at the thought.
After all, just a single condensed pearl from that clam had made it surge nearly two hundred meters in size.
Hum!
The gray-white island on the horizon began to quake. The clam’s heavy, enormous shell trembled, and within several hundred kilometers, the surrounding transcendent energy began to stir violently, kicking up towering waves of qi and ocean water as the shell slowly opened.
"Look! The Ancient Clam is opening its shell!"
"Whoa, it’s so beautiful!"
Cries of excitement rang out from countless Longjia as they gazed upon the fan-shaped shell rising several thousand meters tall from the sea.
Inside the pale white shell, there was not a single trace of flesh—only a slowly rotating white galaxy formed entirely of energy, faintly radiating the aura of laws. The sight made the Dragon Emperor pause.
