Chapter 776: The Summoning of the Colossal Beast Emperor, Weak Signal (II)
Roar! Roar! Roar!
In the raging waters, colossal beasts dozens to hundreds of meters long roared and clashed in madness. The ocean was littered with corpses, the blood dyeing the waters red.
Amid these battling beasts were two alien races numbering nearly a hundred thousand.
One kind had a body with the lower half resembling a serpent and the upper half shaped like a strong humanoid. They had four arms, their bodies were fully covered in blue scales, and their heads were grotesque, somewhere between a fish and a serpent.
Most of them measured between twenty to fifty meters long, with a few exceeding a hundred meters. All of them wielded bronze-refined steel tridents, spears, and giant axes.
These aliens were divided into squads ranging from dozens to hundreds in number, surrounding the colossal beasts and continuously launching assaults against their enemies.
During combat, the leaders of each squad would chant strange syllables, resembling a hymn or ritual. Blue light waves radiated out, linking every alien and colossal beast together.
Under the effect of these battle hymns, all of the aliens, as well as the surrounding colossal beasts, saw their auras surge, and their strength and defenses doubled, allowing them to rampage wildly through enemy ranks.
Said enemies were creatures that stood upright, resembling black-scaled lizards that also measured between twenty to fifty meters in length. They bore six whip-like tentacle tails and wore crude armor, looking savage and brutal.
Around these armored black Lizardmen, raging black heavy water swirled. Together, they conjured violent tsunamis and tearing vortexes, each devastating attack shredding countless four-armed aliens.
There were also colossal beasts among these Liazardmen, each dozens to hundreds of meters long. They all looked the same—shaped like whales, but even more grotesque. Their entire bodies were clad in black armor, their backs and sides bristling with slender tentacles.
Crimson light flickered between the scale gaps of their forebodies, and blazing flames burned within their mouths, which they constantly spat out in torrents of searing flame.
It resembled molten lava, carrying intense heat and a special burning property that boiled the water and scorched the very ocean itself wherever they passed.
When the four-armed aliens and their colossal beast allies were touched by the flames, they burned uncontrollably—neither energy shields nor enhanced scales could resist it.
The explosive power was even more astonishing when the flames combined with the heavy water controlled by the Lizardmen, despite the contradiction between water and fire.
The chaotic fighting stretched across thousands of kilometers, with the fiercest battle taking place between two mythical-level beings.
At the edge of the battlefield, a black orca over 110 meters long, nearing the peak of level 8, was also engaged in a frenzied slaughter. It roared as it lunged forward.
Boom!
With a single bite, empowered by its devouring ability and the black vortex spinning within its ferocious maw, the black orca shattered the domain of an enemy level 8 Black Flame Whale. Half of the beast’s body was torn apart, flesh flying and blood spraying into the sea as the colossal beast screamed in agony.
Wooo!
The black orca let out a long, siren-like cry. Its massive body spun wildly like a crocodile while its jaws were still latched on, ripping the enemy’s remaining body apart, including its spine.
"Ula! Ula!"
Seeing the black orca tear apart a fellow late-stage level 8 beast, the nearby squads of four-armed aliens cheered and ferociously lunged at the Lizardmen.
Crunch!
The black orca chewed the flesh in its jaws and swallowed it down. Its bloodthirsty eyes glared at another nearby level 8 beast as it surged forward, waves blasting apart under its momentum.
Despite its seemingly crazed and fearless fighting style, the black orca was actually very cautious in selecting its enemies.
It always targeted level 8 beasts, preferably ones whose growth stages were slightly lower than its own. It avoided level 9 beasts, and stayed clear of the mythical-level battleground at the center.
Thus, the black orca kept its own risks carefully contained, even as it appeared wildly ferocious, tearing through enemy beasts one after another.
After nearly half a day of brutal fighting, two mighty explosions suddenly erupted from the heart of the battlefield, followed by two roars laden with mythical-level pressure.
“Kerla, next time I will tear off your head!”
“Hmph! Dorus, you've said that useless threat dozens of times already.”
After exchanging harsh words, the two mythical beings burst forth with power, separating the battlefield. The great clash came to an abrupt end, leaving only countless corpses floating across the crimson seas.
Amid the blood-drenched waters, the black orca let out a small, regretful cry as it watched the retreating enemies. Darn it, I haven't killed enough yet.
Nearby, the squad captain—a fifty-meter-long four-armed alien—shouted, "Lord Hu Batian, you already slew nine level 8 colossal beasts. That's incredible!"
The black orca blinked with a surprised squeak. Only nine? I thought I took down ten.
A four-armed alien measuring over a hundred meters, holding a trident and looking hideously fierce, swam over from afar.
Grinning broadly at the black orca, she announced, "Hu Batian, well done. You fought with great valor during this battle. Lord Kerla has specifically ordered me to bring you over to receive your reward."
Well, it was alright. These guys are just too fragile, the black orca squeaked proudly, then followed the alien toward the distant waters.
Upon the raging sea, over a dozen level 9 colossal beasts, each between two to three hundred meters in size, occupied the waters. A strong stench of blood clung to them, and overwhelming pressure spread outward.
Amid them stood a colossal four-armed alien, its body stretching over a thousand meters, radiating the terrifying might of the mythical level.
Compared to the mythical alien, whose upright upper body towered over four hundred meters high like a small mountain, the hundred-meter-long black orca appeared no different from a small pup.
Yet despite the enormous difference in size and strength, the black orca remained neither humble nor overbearing, letting out a squeak. Greetings to the mighty King Kerla.
Hovering above the sea, the massive alien nodded slightly, his gaze approving. "I heard Kertata mention you. You're Hu Batian, aren't you?"
Yes, Lord Kerla!
The mythical alien said, "Although you have only recently joined the Longjia, your performance in this battle has been outstanding. You slew nine same-level beasts.
"Our people have always rewarded merit generously. Since this is your first time on the battlefield and your achievements are already remarkable, your merits are doubled. This Ancient Clam Crystal Pearl is your reward."
As he spoke, a giant white pearl, the size of a water tank, floated into view from the mythical Longjia’s hand, radiating an astonishingly pure and rich energy. The nearby level 9 colossal beasts looked on with envy.
Thank you, Lord Kerla! I shall fight to the death for the Longjia Race, to slaughter every last one of the vile Black Abyssal Race and Black Flame Beasts! With that, the black orca opened its mouth, unleashing a powerful suction, and swallowed the pearl in one gulp.
Boom!
The moment the pearl entered its stomach, a boundless surge of pure energy exploded within. The black orca’s aura skyrocketed, and its body size began to expand.
All around, many level 7 and 8 colossal beasts stared on with envy.
That pearl was of extraordinarily high level, reaching the peak of level 9. Once fully absorbed, it would allow the black orca to grow to the peak of level 8, pushing it within reach of a breakthrough to level 9.
That was exactly what Kerla wanted to see. This black orca had tremendous potential, capable of crushing other same-level colossal beasts with overwhelming strength, and it fought fearlessly. It was well worth nurturing.
Moreover, rewarding it so lavishly in front of all of the other vassal beasts would inspire them to fight even more bravely next time.
As Kerla considered giving the black orca additional resources to hasten its breakthrough to level 9, the black orca suddenly let out a cheerful squeak.
Thank you, Lord Kerla! For the glory of the Longjia Race, I have decided to return and call my mother, father, and uncle to join the fight! Those disgusting Black Abyssal aliens dared to attack me. I must have my uncle teach them a hard lesson!
The black orca’s words made Kerla pause slightly. "Hu Batian, you have other kin?"
The black orca nodded. Yes, but they are very far away. It would take a few days for them to swim back here.
"What is their strength?" Kerla asked.
The black orca proudly squeaked, My mother and the others are all level 9 colossal beasts. My uncle is even stronger than my mother. As for my father... he’s powerful too, just a little... slow-witted.
A satisfied smile spread across Kerla’s face. Three level 9 whale-type beasts, and from the sound of it, all among the stronger ones of their level. If they can be brought in, they will be a substantial reinforcement.
Kerla nodded in approval. "Hu Batian, go and bring your family here. As long as they are willing to fight for our people, I will not treat them unfairly.
"Here are three more Crystal Pearls. Consider them my greeting gifts.” As he spoke, three slightly smaller, dazzling pearls appeared in the Longjia’s hand.
For the great Longjia Race, I will definitely bring my parents and uncle here! No time to lose. I'll take Little Hime and set off right away!
"Go. Be careful on your journey." Thanks to the black orca’s courageous display during the battle, neither Kerla nor the surrounding Longjia Race and colossal beasts suspected a thing.
Under their watchful gazes, the black orca cut through the waves, swiftly swimming several hundred kilometers away from the army’s range.
There, on the distant sea, a slightly smaller female orca emerged, letting out a squeak. Leader, are you alright?
The little orca swam up anxiously. Seeing the torn and battered scales on the black orca, its gentle eyes filled with heartache and concern.
The black orca shook its head proudly and chirped. No worries, Little Hime! I fought nine opponents this time—getting a few scratches is nothing!
Still, those Black Abyssal aliens are quite strong. I'm going back to call Uncle and the others to help crush them.
Understood, Leader. The little orca obediently followed behind, and the two soon disappeared into the raging waves. After swimming over a thousand kilometers, the sea erupted, and the orcas surfaced.
The black orca chirped. Little Hime, here, you eat these good things. Opening its mouth, a surge of water carried two basin-sized Ancient Clam Crystal Pearls outward.
Thank you, Leader! Little Hime’s eyes gleamed with joy. Opening its mouth wide, it swallowed the pearls whole. Immediately, a rich, pure energy spread through its body, its aura rapidly strengthening.
Watching its wife grow stronger, the black orca let out a proud squeak. Once I bring back Uncle and the others, we'll have as many pearls as we want! Let’s hurry!
The black orca then plunged into the deep sea.
After infiltrating the Longjia Race, it had uncovered a trove of useful information—namely, that the aliens ruled over a powerful micro-world beneath the sea. Their strongest Longjia King was even a titan-level existence; beneath that were two mythical-level Longjia maintaining order.
More importantly, a species of Ancient Clams lived in the seas of that micro-world. Though massive, these creatures were weak, but they constantly produced pearls rich in biological energy—ideal for colossal beast growth.
The effect of these pearls was similar to the Magma Crystal Cores the black orca had consumed before. Such treasures... Uncle will surely love them.
