Mystique Soul: A Cultivator's Flame -
Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Chapter 47
With te help of the ’Medical Practicioners’ Feng Haoyang hired, Feng Jiao Xue managed to get better.
Her sickly pale complexion started to get a more healthy hue. The nourishment they gave her thin, bony physique back to being healthy.
Feng Jia Xue was not foolish enough to actually detriment her health for her plot but the proof of the neglect and abuse was plenty enough to give them a solid impression of what she have been through.
Feng Jiao Xue glanced to the side where Mo Tianze was resting.
Weakly, she stood from her bed and to pick him up startling him.
Golden eyes opened like a startled chipmonk. "Sister?" He asked confused before his ees cleared from the hazy sleep. "sister, you shouldn’t be out of bed"
Mo Tianze abruptly stood up abuptly and urged her back to bed.
’Cute’
"You can’t just sleep like this. Come on, the bed is big enough for the both of us" Feng Jiao Xue pulled him to bed with her.
"Sle-sleep here!" Mo Tianze squeeked scootching away from her as if she would eat him.
Feng Jiao Xue’s lips tilted up slightly. "What’s wrong~" She looked at him, her head perched up by her arm.
Teasingly, Feng Jiao Xue caressed Mo Tianze’s cheeks. "Didn’t you say you’ll warm sister’s bed?" she whispered in a soft tone, voice like that of a honey, her warm breath tickling his ear.
"Puff!" Mo Tianze’s ears and tails that he had been hiding puffed out as he blushed profusely, red as a tomato making Feng Jiao Xue giggle.
Yin Xiao looked at Feng Jiao Xue and Mo Tianze curiously from the side before his eyes widened realising his master is playing with his ’mate’.
Yin Xiao’s eyes widened as his jaw slacked to the ground before immediately leaving the bedroom to give them privacy.
Feng Jiao Xue glanced at the closing door before chuckling and pulling Mo Tianze towards her, cuddling her.
"Sleep" Feng Jiao Xue smiled down at Mo Tianze who was as stiff as a bored, his cheeks as red as a tomato that Feng Jiao Xue was tempted to take a bite.
He had filled out considerably under Feng Jiao Xue care. His once hollow cheeks that thingly clung to his cheekbones was now a little plum, his silver hair curls around his cheeks ever so slight, framing his slightly round face perfectly. And his lips, the once dry and cracked pair now had a pinkish shine, smooth and pouty. If Feng Jiao Xue could think of the perfect personification of an angel, it would be him.
"I was just teasing." She assured the frightened puppy. "Sleep, nothing more. You still need to recuperate more than I do."
Mo Tianze shyly looked at her at that. "I.. I don’t mind..."
"Hmm?" Feng Jiao Xue raised a brow at that.
"Wa-warming your bed" Mo Tianze squeeked out making Feng Jiao Xue buffer before giggling softly.
"Do you love me?" She asked with a raised brow and Mo Tianze immediately nodded.
"Why?" She asked again, looking at him indulgently.
"Because sister saved me and is very nice to me." Mo Tianze replied sincerely, his eyes pure and so light.
She wonders, ’how could someone that have been through the things he had’... tenderly, she brushed her thumbed over the lead of his eye... ’still have eyes as clear these’
Crash!!!
"What’s going on here?" Feng Haoyang asked scandalized as he entered the room, a bowl of soup now messily on the floor as Yin Xiao tries to keep him out.
"Uncle" Feng Jiao Xue greeted, making her, sitting up. "Do you always like to break thing?" she raised an eyebrow.
"Ehem" Feng Haoyan coughed waving servants over to clean it up.
"You two are?" He asked uncertainly turning slightly green, to red, to white, then green.
If his niece is dating someone, as an absent uncle he can’t really dictate who and when she can date but it still feels uncomfortable as her uncle to see his little peach about to be stolen by this... this... pretty boy!
Feng Jiao Xue rolls her eyes. "Friends uncle." She clarifies as Mo Tianze scrambles out of Feng Jiao Xue’s bed.
"Oh, oh..." Feng Haoyang heaved a sigh of relief at that. "Ehem, right, you both are still to young for that." He smiles brightly, blocking Mo Tianze’s sight, stepping in front of him and subtly trying to push him away.
Looking wronged, Mo Tianze stepped to the side with his ears and tails drooping down as the healers checked on Feng Jiao Xue again.
The entire clan was startled when even the crown prince sent the royal healers but Feng Haoyang made sure that no one tries to approach them to have a semblance of connection to the crown prince.
"Qi..." The healers checking Feng Jiao Xue frowned and entered his Qi to her.
Feng Jiao Xue eyes widened slightly as she immediately surpresed her magic to stop it from being noticed. "Jin De!" She called in her mind, panic.
"You want me to cover your Qi?" Huang Jin De immediately replied immediately.
"No, my magic. Can you do it?"
"I can, Jiao Xue" Yin Xiao replied instead, using his innate ability to cloud the healer’s mind slighty
"What’s wrong? Did the poison spread? Is she hurt? is she sick? Is it permanent?" Feng Haoyang fretted as he immadiately appeared by Feng Jiao Xue’s bedside.
"No, no" The healer eased "I can sense some Qi in her"
Feng haoyang buffered while Feng Jiao Xue tried to look shock, hopeful and excited at the same time.
"Hold up, hold up, hold up. Are you saying my niece, the empire’s well known inacaple to cultivate or wield magic... has Qi in her body? because in case you forgot, those who do not possess the ability do not have a trace at all." Feng Haoyang’s expression slowly darkened again.
It was clear what that implies. The moment the poison was cleared, they felt a dou qi in her body.
Feng Jiao xue’s eyes flashed before she bowed her head, cowering on herself making Feng Haoyang’s heart ache and churn. So he pulled her into a protective and warm embrace.
"I’m so sorry, little peach. I’ll do whatever I can to make it up to you. Those who wronged you, everyone involved, will pay"
Feng Haoyang and those in here immediately comcluded that the reason she can’t cultivate was because of the poison which means she had had that poison since young.
"Actually... uncle, can you..." Feng Jiao Xue timidly looked down as she trailed off.
"What is it, little peach?" Feng Haoyang asked as if talking to a fragile child.
"I want to ask you for something"
"Anything" Feng Haoyang immediately promised making Feng Jiao Xue inwardly smirk.
"I want a Clan Clash" Feng Jiao Xue dropped causing everyone to pause.
"Jiao Xue, little peach." Feng Jiao Xue cut him off by showing them her Qi.
There, on her palm, was a dazzling golden yellow glow.
"This is-!" Feng Haoyang grabbed her wrist giddily.
"Yellow..." One of the healers breathed out in amazement.
"Rank 3. Your rank three!" Feng Haoyang excitedly grinned at him.
Feng Jiao Xue nodded. "I- I was afraid that second uncle and second aunt would get angrier at me if- if they knew that I could cultivate. I didn’t want to continue being a shame to the clan so I kept cultivating in secret even if it hurts..."
Feng Haoyang was even more furious but prioritized comforting and celebrating with his niece.
A clan clash is when the youth and disiples of the clan all compete with each other and whoever wins will get to chose a prize they want as long as it does not harm the clan, it’s members or the clan’s interest and this is used encourage the youth to keep being stronger while serving as an assessment.
Feng Jiao Xue is planning to invoke a cultivator’s autonomy. She would still be a part of the clan but they can not tell her what to do, they may ask her but not force or pressure her.
Feng Haoyang once invoked this promise to get the elders off his back. And many used this to ask for more resources.
"Jiao Xue..."
"Uncle, I want to prove myself to the clan" Feng Jiao Xue informed him with conviction.
"You know how dangerous it is right?" Feng Haoyang asked seriously and grimly. "It’s not a game, Jiao Xue. You can get very hurt..."
"I know uncle but... when I cultivate, it was always like something in me is stopping me. Like there’s always been a block... but, but I persevered because I wanted the clan to be proud of me as they’re Fourth Miss." Feng Jiao Xue stated, digging deep into her soul to echo the wish of the ’Feng Jiao Xue’ before her. What ’she’ had always longed for. To be accepted into her own home, by her own family. Mixing the truth with the lies.
