Chapter 122: On-shelf Speech [Come in and have a look? It’s okay if you don’t?]
The novel is about to go live, so I guess it’s customary to share my thoughts first?
First of all, I’d like to thank my editor, since they signed on my book, giving thanks is only right.
Then...
How should I put it?
Let’s talk about the future novel creation!
It’s also for those friends who haven’t subscribed to this book, to give a brief overview of the creative direction of this book in the future. If you find it doesn’t suit your taste, you’ll be able to steer clear in advance.
At the very beginning, this book was actually set up as the protagonist collecting one Magic Book after another, and then they all turned into cute girls, causing trouble together in an alternate world.
But after some thought, I decided to abandon that idea.
As the author, I have a very clear understanding of my creative abilities. My writing style, plot construction, and grasp of storylines are all quite inadequate. This was a problem I was conscious of from the start.
So later, in the writing process, I hoped to resolve these issues and made plans specifically for that purpose.
After all, "writing a story that can move people" is one of the requirements of writing.
First, with a purpose-driven plan, I set myself a three-stage goal.
The first one is the one I’m writing now, "The Mysterious Dominator".
This book features a complete world framework, basic worldview settings, and some miscellaneous things. These were all determined from the beginning, and by establishing these contents, I hope to practice my ability to write stories within this book.
As for the cool moments, monster fighting, leveling up, showing off...
Those things are secondary goals in this book and probably won’t be too prevalent.
So the content of this book, to put it simply, is a series of stories pieced together to form a novel. Of course, there is a real main storyline threading through, but now only a small beginning has been unveiled.
That is the original intention of this book’s creation.
Next, there are plans to write books that give readers a thrilling ride, the kind that blows their minds with cool moments and improved plot control.
Of course, that will be after this book is completed.
Oh, right!
There’s also the matter of the details within the novel.
Ensuring a minimum daily update of several thousand words, it’s nearly impossible for me, with my limited talent, not to make mistakes.
So I’m bound to make some errors in the process of creation, and if readers notice and point them out, I’ll be very happy to accept them and make changes.
Just like at the beginning of this book, some readers pointed out that it was not possible for candles to light up an entire village. That was my misuse of words, and I’m very grateful someone brought it up, so I went ahead and changed it.
Then.... what else should I say?
Oh, right!
Let’s talk about extra updates; people keep urging for more.
Regarding this, there will definitely be extra updates, but I need to have time for that...
And I don’t want to get the sequence of things wrong.
From my perspective, writing a novel is about making everyone happy with what I’ve written, and then the readers are delighted to reward me, cast some votes, which is what I can satisfy.
But if it requires the readers to vote beforehand, to reward the author first, and do various things, and then I make an effort to give back by adding updates...
This is putting the cart before the horse, so I don’t plan on doing it that way.
Simply put, I’ll still ensure steady updates in the future, and if I’m in a good mood, I might do extra updates from time to time.
Everyone can cast a vote or subscribe if you’ve enjoyed it, and that makes the author very happy.
Of course, that’s just my thinking.
It doesn’t involve right or wrong of others; you can just consider it an excuse I’ve made up for being lazy and not wanting to write more.
Heh...
That’s probably it for now; today is the first day of going live.
Just one update doesn’t seem quite right.
My home computer broke again, so I guess I’ll head to an internet cafe to write later.
Above all, I would like to thank all readers once again for your support of this book.
