Chapter 439: Four against one
Chapter 439: Four against one
Whoosh!
A flash of light burst behind Ethan as his radiant wings ignited in a blazing inferno. In the next instant, a surge of pure Light Force flooded into his hands, condensing into a gleaming, white holy sword that shimmered with divine energy.
Then—he struck.
The holy blade tore through the air, slicing the sky itself apart.
"Fwoooosh—!"
The overwhelming power of the strike shattered the monstrous tsunami barreling toward him. And in the same breath, the sword came crashing down on the massive Kirin, Olyrant.
Splat!
Blood sprayed like a geyser.
Olyrant was sent flying, his enormous body hurled through the air before crashing into the ocean, swallowed by the churning waves.
"No way... What the hell?!"
Olyrant froze midair, stunned.
He couldn’t believe what had just happened.
That was a Tier-13 Legendary Ace Unit—one of the most powerful beings in existence!
And Ethan had just launched him like a ragdoll with a single swing of his sword?
How was that even possible?!
"Tch... As I thought. A Tier-13 Legendary Ace Unit is still too weak," Ethan muttered, shaking his head with a hint of disappointment. "At best, that kind of power might put up a decent fight against an orange-tier Legendary hero. But against me—or any Crimson Ultimate hero, really—it’s no threat at all."
The truth was, even now, Ethan hadn’t gone all out. He hadn’t needed to. With his ability to teleport instantly across the Sacred Realm, he could weave through the ocean-spanning Kirin army like a ghost—untouchable, unstoppable.
It was like walking through an empty field.
And when he finally decided to put a little more force behind his attack...
Well, this was the result: a single strike that sent a Tier-13 Kirin flying.
But even that wasn’t enough. Not for him. It didn’t even make him break a sweat.
It couldn’t push him to unleash his full strength.
Which meant...
His hope of testing the limits of his power?
Yeah, that was probably a bust.
Unless...
"Unless..." Ethan lifted his gaze, eyes narrowing as he glanced toward the other battlefield—where Maelthorak was still locked in a brutal standoff with Seraphina, Cicero, and Kyros.
He tilted his head, then muttered to himself, "Maybe I’ll give him a shot later."
But just as the words left his mouth, a sudden jolt of danger prickled at the edge of his senses.
Without hesitation, Ethan activated his Sacred Realm teleportation—vanishing from the spot in a blink.
BOOM!
Right on cue—just as Ethan vanished from his spot in a flash of light—a massive figure slammed down where he’d been standing. The ground cracked beneath the impact, and a wave of foul, rotting stench rolled out in every direction.
A hulking Wyvern Monarch, its scaly hide a sickly, menacing green, stood there, wings half-spread, eyes glowing with murderous intent.
"A 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch Hero, huh?" Ethan murmured, eyes narrowing as he took in the beast’s towering form.
[Kargasmor]
Level: 63

...
Overall Rating: SSS-Class Orange Legendary Hero (89% Evolution Progress)
A Fortress-aligned 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch unit—an SSS-class Orange Legendary Hero with nearly 90% evolution progress. That rating alone said everything about how dangerous this thing was.
But even with all that power, the ambush had failed.
Because with Ethan’s infinite teleportation ability, sneak attacks were basically useless. The odds of landing a hit on him that way? Close to zero.
Still...
"This one’s definitely more interesting than that Kirin from earlier," Ethan said, his voice low, almost amused. "A 12-Tier Hero Unit, huh? Let’s see what you’ve got."
His expression shifted—no more casual smirks. His eyes sharpened. He was getting serious now.
"Kargasmor! Kill him!!" Regnar XI’s voice thundered across the battlefield, laced with fury and desperation.
Kargasmor was his trump card—his most powerful, most well-hidden asset. He hadn’t planned to use it unless absolutely necessary.
But now? He had no choice.
It was either Ethan dies... or they all do.
So he had to go all in. No holding back.
"RAAAHHH!!"
With a deafening roar, Kargasmor launched himself at Ethan. His speed was insane—so fast he left afterimages in the air.
In just a few seconds, he was already clashing with Ethan midair. The two of them shot upward from the ocean’s surface, trading blows in the sky, then diving back down in a blur of motion. They clashed again and again—ten, maybe twelve times in rapid succession.
"Not bad," Ethan said with a grin, clearly enjoying himself. "You’ve got some real power."
This Wyvern Monarch Hero was definitely a cut above the rest.
Which meant Ethan could finally cut loose a little.
But just as the fight was heating up, a massive surge of energy erupted from the ocean below—Olyrant, the giant Kirin, came roaring back into the fray, bloodied but far from beaten.
And he wasn’t alone.
Regnar XI and Grand Duke Opriston were charging in too, all three of them converging on Ethan at once.
Four against one.
This was it—their strongest formation, their last shot at victory.
They had no other cards left to play.
It was win... or die.
They had to kill Ethan. They had to end this.
But what they didn’t realize—what they still hadn’t grasped—was just how far out of their league Ethan really was...
SHLUNK!!!
A massive claw—one of the Kirin Olyrant’s front limbs—was sliced clean off midair, blood spraying in a wide arc before the severed limb crashed into the sea below, staining the water crimson.
Olyrant let out a bone-rattling shriek, stumbling backward in agony.
It was clear now—
Once Ethan stopped holding back, Olyrant didn’t stand a chance.
Just one strike.
That was all it took for Ethan to hack off the forelimb of a proud, Tier-13 Legendary Ace Unit.
The gap between them? Absolutely staggering.
"RAAAHHH!!"
Olyrant thrashed wildly, retreating in a frenzy of pain and rage.
But this time, Ethan wasn’t letting him off the hook.
BOOM!
The ocean trembled as Ethan surged forward, his blade cleaving through the combined blockade of Kargasmor, Regnar XI, and Grand Duke Opriston like it was nothing.
He was going straight for the kill.
"No—NO! Stop!!" Grand Duke Opriston’s face twisted in panic, his voice cracking into a desperate, furious scream.
"Judgment Sword."
"Die."
Ethan was already there—right in front of the wounded Kirin.
He slipped past Olyrant’s flailing counterattack like it was in slow motion, then drove his sword upward in a brutal arc.
The blade pierced straight through the Kirin’s skull, slicing down through its massive body and pinning it to the sea below.
To the stunned onlookers, it was like watching a divine execution.
The holy sword impaled Olyrant from head to hoof, and the colossal beast dropped like a meteor, crashing into the ocean with a deafening roar.
KA-THOOOM!
A tidal wave exploded outward from the impact, towering high into the sky.
The sea turned red.
