As expected...
The moment Ethan saw Doregar’s talent list, he immediately felt the overwhelming power radiating from it.
Unified Assault—being able to coordinate attacks with regular 12-Tier Cyclops Kings to boost both attack speed and damage? That was practically a god-tier ability for defending cities!
Especially when you factored in their unit type—ranged attackers—and that insane Overrange Barrage skill... it cemented Doregar’s status as a top-tier defensive Hero Unit, no question.
And now it made perfect sense why the Blazeblade Kingdom was considered the strongest among the Five Sea Kingdoms. The reason? This Cyclops King—Doregar.
"My Lord," Fiesto said, stepping forward, "with Doregar on our side, even in a head-on battle, just 15 to 20 Cyclops Kings would be enough to hold off most 13-Tier Legendary Units!"
"And in a defensive scenario, that number could be even lower. So for us in the Blazeblade Kingdom, having or not having 13-Tier Legendary Units doesn’t really matter. What we truly lack... are 14-Tier Mythic Units."
Fiesto’s voice was steady, but there was a hint of pride in it as he explained.
Ethan nodded in agreement this time. He could see it now—Fiesto was right. In this situation, whether or not they had 13-Tier Legendary Units didn’t make much of a difference. The gap wasn’t that significant.
"My Lord, should we send troops to join your campaign as well?" Fiesto asked again.
But Ethan shook his head. "No need. The Cyclops Kings... they’re not the right fit for this battle. Instead, Fiesto, I’ve got a new mission for you."
"Your command, My Lord!" Fiesto straightened up, his expression turning serious.
"I want you to go to the Thundervale Kingdom and find Grand Duke Zurei. I need you to bring them into the fold—win them over. Can you do that?" Ethan said slowly, his tone calm but firm.
The moment those words left his mouth, both Fiesto and Doregar exchanged glances—and their expressions instantly turned... odd.
"My Lord... you might not be aware of this," Fiesto said with a wry smile. "But the truth is, Blazeblade Kingdom and Thundervale Kingdom... we’ve got a pretty nasty history. Honestly, we’re practically mortal enemies. So if you’re asking me to go and convince them? That’s gonna be... well, let’s just say it won’t be easy."
"I know," Ethan replied, shaking his head, eyes gleaming with intent. "But that’s exactly why you’re the right person for the job. You know what they say—your enemies know you best. Thundervale’s been under your thumb for years. That means they fear you, they hate you... and they understand you better than anyone."
"And now that even you’ve chosen to side with Emerald Castle, don’t you think Zurei’s going to wonder why? Why would Blazeblade Kingdom—why would you, Fiesto—make that choice? Grand Duke Zurei didn’t get to where he is by being stupid. He’s a ruler—he’ll do what’s best for his kingdom when it really counts."
Ethan paused, then added, "I’m also sending Seraphina with you. Her presence alone will speak volumes—proof of our strength, and of who we are. And you can tell him about Astharel’s true identity too. Got it now?"
"...I understand," Fiesto nodded, his eyes lighting up with resolve. "You have my word, My Lord. I’ll do everything I can to bring Grand Duke Zurei over to our side."
"Seraphina, I’m counting on you to go with him."
"It would be my honor, my beloved Master!" Seraphina beamed, clearly thrilled.
This was exactly her kind of mission—subjugation, persuasion, and strengthening Emerald Castle’s power base. And best of all? It didn’t require much thinking.
Perfect.
Second only to a good fight.
As for what they’d do if the mission failed?
Neither Seraphina nor Fiesto asked. Because to them, it wasn’t even a question.
They’d seen it firsthand—lived it, even.
They knew what had to be done.
This mission had to stay absolutely secret.
So if it failed... there’d be only one option: eliminate all witnesses. No loose ends.
That was the rule.
But what no one—except maybe Ethan—could’ve predicted... was just how ridiculously smooth the whole thing would go.
Aside from Grand Duke Zurei nearly trying to kill Fiesto on sight, once they laid everything out—and Seraphina gave just the tiniest glimpse of her power—
Zurei didn’t even hesitate.
He agreed. Instantly.
"...That easy?"
Fiesto was stunned.
In his mind, Zurei was a stubborn brute—thick-headed and impossible to reason with. He’d even mentally prepared to wipe out the entire kingdom if it came to that.
But this?
This was way too easy.
It didn’t make sense.
"Of course it was easy! What, you think I’m stupid?" Zurei barked, arms crossed, looking completely unfazed. "You’ve got three Crimson Ultimate heroes standing behind you. Even the Greenwave Empire only has one! What the hell am I supposed to do—fight you? You think I want to die? You idiot, I’m not that dumb!"
He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
And honestly? It kind of was.
Three Crimson Ultimate heroes.
Even the mighty Greenwave Empire only had one.
What was he gonna do—charge in and get obliterated?
No thanks.
Surrendering was the only sane option.
Simple as that.
