Chapter 400: Dragonblade Knight
Chapter 400: Dragonblade Knight
Of course, there was nothing wrong with jumping into the action every now and then.
After all, a lord was still human—flesh and blood, with thoughts, emotions, and desires. And when you had power, the urge to fight, to dominate, to crush your enemies beneath your feet... that was only natural.
Thinking about that, Ethan just chuckled and shook his head.
No point overthinking it.
"Thanks, you guys," he said, glancing over at Cicero and the others.
"No, my Lord. It’s our honor. And congratulations... you’ve become a Crimson Ultimate Hero!" Cicero replied, shaking his head with a bright, proud smile.
"It’s all thanks to you guys too..." Ethan said, then paused and asked, "How long was I out? Where’d Karnak and the others go?"
As he spoke, he looked around the area, scanning the surroundings.
But Eldrin, Karnak, even Auremax—they were all gone. The only one still nearby was little Kaiin, who was slumped against the Ebonite Colossus Foundry, his tiny head bobbing like he was dozing off.
"By now... it’s been a little over eight days," Cicero said softly.
"Eight days?"
"That long?!"
Ethan blinked, stunned.
To him, the whole evolution had felt like it happened in an instant. He hadn’t sensed the passage of time at all... and yet, more than a week had gone by?
Eight full days?
"Yeah..." Cicero nodded, still smiling. "A few days ago, I scouted the area and made sure there were no threats nearby. Once I confirmed it was safe, I let the others head out. Also, someone arrived at Emerald Castle—a guest. Elynn had to go back to receive them."
"A guest?"
"Who?"
Ethan raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued.
"They said it was an envoy from the Castle faction. One of Wisdom Angel Cain’s subordinates—a Dragonblade Knight Hero, Tier 13 Legendary Unit. And also... that Cavalier Hero from the Castle faction we met before—Roland. He came too."
"A Dragonblade Knight Hero..." Ethan murmured, his eyes narrowing slightly, a flicker of interest lighting up behind them.
To be honest, he’d never actually seen one of these Dragonblade Knights in person before. But he’d definitely heard of them. In fact, their reputation was legendary—especially among the Castle faction’s hidden elite Tier 13 Legendary Units.
The Dragonblade Knights were practically the poster children for mortals ascending to godhood in Glory Lords X.
And why was that such a big deal?
Simple.
Every single Dragonblade Knight started out as a human. And in the world of Glory Lords X, the human race was... well, let’s just say they weren’t exactly top-tier. Actually, they were at the very bottom of the food chain.
No exaggeration—humans were considered the weakest race in the entire game.
Most of them started at Tier 0. Like the infamous "weakest unit" in the game: the Farmer. Yeah, those guys? All human.
So for someone to rise from that—to go from a Tier 0 nobody to a Tier 13 Legendary Hero?
Wearing the title of Dragonblade Knight?
That was nothing short of miraculous.
And yet, despite starting from such humble origins, these warriors had clawed their way up from Tier 0—the absolute bottom—fighting tooth and nail with nothing but their lives and an unshakable belief in the light. And they’d made it. All the way to Tier 13. Legendary Units.
Even more insane? They’d earned the recognition of the Holy Dragon Elrath himself.
That blessing had awakened the Holy Dragon bloodline within them, transforming them into warriors so powerful they could stand shoulder to shoulder with the Angels—the Castle faction’s most elite.
It was the kind of story that demanded respect.
And yeah, it was also kind of terrifying.
"Any idea what’s going on?" Ethan asked, shaking his head slightly.
"Not yet... but if I had to guess, it’s probably tied to the faction wars," Cicero replied, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
"Faction wars, huh..." Ethan murmured, then gave a small nod. "Alright. In that case, we should go check it out. But as for Kaiin..."
He turned to glance at the little Ebonite Colossus, who was still half-dozing near the Foundry, his oversized head bobbing gently like a sleepy kid.
Ethan lowered his voice.
"He can’t come back with us. Not yet."
The Ebonite Colossus was already a rare and sensitive existence. But this one? This was a Crimson Ultimate Hero. That made things way more complicated. If the Tower faction caught wind of this, it’d be a massive headache—possibly even a full-blown crisis.
So for now, Kaiin had to stay hidden.
At least until Emerald Castle had enough strength to protect him.
Then they could talk about bringing him out into the open.
"That’s easy," Cicero said with a nod. "Let him stay here for now. And actually, I’d suggest we start modifying this Plane World a bit. Because honestly? This place is a dump."
He wrinkled his nose in disgust.
As a Green Dragon—an embodiment of the forest and nature itself—Cicero had a deep, almost instinctual need for a lush, vibrant environment. And this place? This barren, lifeless wasteland?
It was basically his personal hell.
No trees. No plants. No rivers. No signs of nature at all.
Not even a damn puddle.
To him, this wasn’t just unpleasant—it was torture.
"Modify it? How?" Ethan blinked, caught off guard. "What would that even look like?"
Sure, he’d made a killing in this Plane World—massive gains, no question. He’d walked away with more than he ever expected.
But that didn’t mean he disagreed with Cicero. In fact, their thoughts were perfectly aligned.
This place was a disaster.
Calling it a "natural environment" was a joke. It was a dead zone. A wasteland.
Just dry, cracked earth and endless nothing.
"Simple," Cicero said with a grin. "I can create forests. Kyros and the Kirin Legion? They can summon water—streams, rivers, even oceans if needed."
"As long as we’ve got vegetation and water sources in place, the natural environment here will start evolving on its own. Add in a steady supply of magical energy, and honestly? It won’t take long before this place starts looking like Sylvanwood."
He paused, then added with a glint in his eye, "And if you really wanted to, my Lord... surpassing Sylvanwood wouldn’t even be that hard. Just a bit of time and effort. After all, as a Crimson Ultimate Hero, reshaping the environment is basically a baseline ability."
Ethan let out a low whistle, genuinely impressed. "No wonder they say Crimson Ultimate Heroes are practically divine... This kind of power is insane."
Back in the day, the idea of terraforming an entire world—creating ecosystems, forests, rivers, even full-blown climates—was the stuff of fantasy. He wouldn’t have even dared to dream about it. That kind of feat? It would’ve taken the combined strength of all humanity, and even then, it’d be a long shot.
But now?
Now it just took two or three Crimson Ultimate Heroes.
That contrast said everything.
The title "Crimson Ultimate Hero" wasn’t just for show—it was a whole different league of power. The kind of power that could reshape worlds. Literally.
And that was terrifying in the best possible way.
