Chapter 396: Five?!
Chapter 396: Five?!
Although the only difference was their color,
these pitch-black Diamond Golems looked exactly like regular Diamond Golems. But Ethan could clearly feel it—the overwhelming pressure radiating from them, the kind of power that only came from 13-Tier Legendary Units.
There was no doubt about it.
These things were definitely 13-Tier Legendary Units.
"Maybe... these are the real successful prototypes," Ethan muttered under his breath, as if he’d just pieced it all together. Then his eyes lit up, and he gave the order. "Everyone, get ready. We’re taking those 13-Tier Legendary Unit Creature Dwellings. But... this doesn’t look like the number of guards for just one dwelling. There are way too many of them. Stay sharp!"
"Five of them," Cicero suddenly said. "Master, when we came down earlier, I took a quick look inside. There are five Creature Dwellings in total. As for the number of guards... it’s already over a thousand."
"Five?!" Ethan froze for a second, stunned—and then thrilled.
He’d expected maybe one or two at most. After all, these were 13-Tier Legendary Unit Dwellings. Just finding one or two would’ve been a huge win. But clearly, he’d underestimated this place.
Five 13-Tier Legendary Unit Creature Dwellings.
That was a whole different ballgame compared to the one or two he’d imagined.
This wasn’t even in the same league.
It was absolutely insane.
Normally, when multiple Creature Dwellings showed up in the same area, they were for low-Tier units—like Tier 1 through 6. Even Tier 7 and above were rare to see grouped together.
But was this a bad thing?
Hell no—it was amazing!
Five 13-Tier Legendary Unit Creature Dwellings?
That was insanely valuable!
He could barely contain his excitement.
It was like a gift from the heavens.
But after the initial rush of joy and surprise...
A headache started to creep in.
"Over a thousand guards?" he repeated, frowning. These weren’t just any units—they were all 13-Tier Legendary Units. Over a thousand of them. That was no joke. They’d already gotten a taste of what that meant during the last war with the Dungeon army.
Bottom line?
This fight was going to be rough.
"Cicero, Auremax—can we even pull this off?" Ethan asked, his tone serious. "I mean, can we do it without taking heavy losses?"
If the entire Emerald Castle force was here, they could probably steamroll even a thousand 13-Tier Legendary Units without breaking a sweat. But right now? They didn’t even have a third of their full strength.
Charging in recklessly and losing troops in the process?
That might not be worth it.
"We can take them!" Cicero said firmly, then explained, "Master, these Creature Dwelling guards may be 13-Tier Legendary Units, but they’re nothing like those Red Dragons or Shadow Dragons we fought before."
"Even within the same Tier, guards from Creature Dwellings are usually only about a third as strong as regular combat units. Plus, they don’t have a Hero Unit leading them, so they’re not nearly as coordinated or dangerous. Honestly, just give me a little time—I could probably handle them myself."
"That’s right, Master," Auremax chimed in, nodding confidently. "They might look intimidating because of their numbers, but they’re not that tough in a real fight. With Prince Cicero, myself, and the Gold Dragon army, we’ve got this."
"Oh, right... I totally forgot about that," Ethan said, smacking his forehead lightly. "In that case, let’s do it. Cicero, Auremax, take the Gold Dragon army and Karnak with you. Eldrin, stay just outside the battlefield and support them from range."
Hearing both Cicero and Auremax speak with such confidence, Ethan felt reassured.
"Yes, Master!"
"As you command, my great Lord!"
"Let’s move out..."
...
At Ethan’s command, Auremax led the Gold Dragon army straight into the swarm of pitch-black Diamond Golems.
Even though they were outnumbered more than ten to one, just like Auremax had said earlier—once the battle actually started, those black Diamond Golems didn’t seem nearly as terrifying as they looked.
BOOM!
With a single strike, Auremax shattered one of the black Diamond Golems into a storm of dark diamond shards that exploded outward like shrapnel. The shockwave alone knocked over dozens more of the black Golems.
And the 14-Tier Mythic Units—the Gold Dragons—were absolutely tearing it up.
Once they charged into the enemy ranks, it was like lions charging into a flock of sheep.
They were unstoppable.
Even when outnumbered five to one, eight to one, ten to one... they held their ground with ease.
And not just held it—they were cutting through the enemy like a hot knife through butter.
Then there was Karnak and Cicero.
Karnak’s fighting style was brutally simple—just fists. Any black Diamond Golem that dared stand in his way got smashed to pieces, one punch at a time.
Cicero, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. His combat style couldn’t have been more different from Karnak’s.
Whoooosh—
A storm exploded outward as the power of the Sacred Realm surged from Cicero like a tidal wave.
He barely even lifted a finger... and yet, the raging storm energy tore through the battlefield like a natural disaster, obliterating every pitch-black Diamond Golem caught in its radius.
BOOM—BOOM—BOOM!
But even after that devastating blast, more of the black Diamond Golems kept shambling toward Cicero, slow but relentless.
They didn’t flinch.
They didn’t hesitate.
Their eyes were empty—void of fear, void of thought—as they surged toward the eye of the storm like a mindless tide.
But no matter how many came, they couldn’t get close.
Their sluggish movement was their fatal flaw.
Thud. Thud. Thud...
RUMBLE—CRASH—WHOOSH—
As the magic within Cicero and the Sacred Realm’s power continued to expand and pulse outward, the battlefield turned into a maelstrom of destruction.
It was like watching a storm that could tear the heavens apart.
Wherever the storm passed, black Diamond Golems fell in droves.
In just seconds, over a hundred of them had been reduced to shattered fragments.
It was effortless.
Watching this unfold, Eldrin—who had been half-heartedly tossing a few Arcane Magic Missiles just to look busy—finally turned around with a wry smile.
"My Lord... I don’t think they need my help anymore."
"Yeah... looks like they’ve got it covered," Ethan muttered, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Didn’t expect them to go down this easy..."
"It’s not that they’re weak," Eldrin thought to himself, resisting the urge to say it out loud, "it’s that we’ve gotten way too strong."
He didn’t dare voice that out loud, of course.
After all, he was still technically a newcomer to Emerald Castle—he’d only joined recently. But that just made the contrast even more striking to him.
He knew how strong these 13-Tier Legendary Unit guards were supposed to be.
If someone had handed this fight to him before he joined Emerald Castle, he would’ve just stood there, helpless. No way he could’ve handled it.
The only reason they were steamrolling now was because of Cicero’s overwhelming power...
And Auremax, a 14-Tier Mythic Ace Unit.
And Karnak, a Legendary Hero who’d undergone a second awakening.
And nearly a hundred 14-Tier Gold Dragons.
With that kind of firepower?
Yeah, of course they were crushing it.
