Chapter 344: Level 4 Special Resource?

Ding!

"Player Valkarion, attention: Dungeon King Vorundar has chosen to destroy the dungeon entrance and return to the dungeon. Mission complete! Beginning mission completion assessment... Ding! Assessment complete!"

"Congratulations, Player Valkarion! You’ve successfully completed the SS+ tier special storyline mission: Dungeon Army Siege Battle! Completion rate: 94%. Mission rating: SSS. You’ve earned the following rewards!"

"Light Alliance Reputation: 5,000,000. Main World Reputation: 800,000. Gold: 1,000,000,000. Basic Resources (all six types): 30,000 units. Tier 13 Units (specified or random): 200. Tier 14 Units (specified or random): 100. One Level 4 Special Resource Mine (random or specified)!"

"Order Dragon Asha’s Power Fragment (Grade B): 1. Order Dragon Asha’s Power Fragment (Grade C): 2."

"All Hero Units under Player Valkarion’s command in Emerald Castle: +3 Levels. Talent Skill Levels: +1 (random), not exceeding the maximum cap for each skill..."

"Whoa..." Ethan froze for a second.

Then his eyes widened, and he sucked in a sharp breath.

"No way. What the hell—this much?!"

Honestly, from the start, he hadn’t even dared to imagine the rewards would be this insane. This wasn’t just generous—it was straight-up ridiculous.

"Holy crap—jackpot!" Ethan was practically shaking with excitement.

He couldn’t help but blurt it out—it was just too much.

This haul was insane. Like, life-changing insane. He’d never seen rewards this generous before!

A billion gold coins!

Thirty thousand units of each core resource!

And when you added that to what Emerald Castle already had in storage, that was probably enough to resurrect most of the regular troops they’d lost in the war. And that wasn’t even the craziest part—he was also getting 200 Tier 13 Legendary Units and 100 Tier 14 Mythic Units!

This wasn’t just about recovering from losses anymore—

This was a straight-up power spike from the heavens.

And on top of all that? He was getting fragments of Order Dragon Asha’s power—one Grade B and two Grade C—and every single Hero Unit under his command was getting a level boost, plus a random bump to their talent skills.

Ethan just stared at the screen, eyes glazed over.

Grinning like an idiot.

Because honestly? These rewards—especially the Hero upgrades and Asha’s fragments—might actually be even more valuable than the rest.

But then, as the initial wave of excitement started to settle, a new thought crept in.

"Still... I need to think carefully about which regular units to pick..."

The thrill was still there, but now it was tangled with a bit of hesitation.

After the war, his main regular unit forces—Green Dragons, Gold Dragons, Kirins, Sacred Kirins, Behemoths—had all taken heavy losses. He had to replenish them. No question.

Otherwise, what was the point of calling them "armies" if he only had a handful left? A few stragglers—ten, twenty, maybe thirty units—didn’t cut it. Not for the kind of battles they were facing. And honestly, the cost-effectiveness just wasn’t there.

Because when it came to regular units, numbers mattered.

Once you hit a certain threshold, their overall strength would jump significantly. Take the Sacred Kirins, for example.

According to Kyros, once you had 50 of them, their collective power would undergo a qualitative transformation.

Same with the Gold Dragons.

Auremax had told him before—if you could field more than 30 Gold Dragons, you’d see a noticeable boost in performance. And if you could push that number past 100? The power spike would be massive.

All of that had to be factored in.

And there was something even more important on Ethan’s mind right now—

Now that he had that Grade B fragment of Order Dragon Asha’s power, he could finally try evolving Ancient War Tree Oakenmaw into a Crimson Ultimate Hero Unit.

If it failed, well, so be it.

But if it worked?

A Crimson Ultimate Hero wasn’t someone you just left hanging like Seraphina or Cicero had been before—commanding nothing, leading no one. Back then, it was because he didn’t have the resources or troops to support them. He’d been strapped for everything.

But now? That excuse was gone.

Even if he had to force it, he had to pull together a full-fledged Ancient War Tree army—at least thirty to fifty units strong.

And if that was the case, then honestly? Even the 200 Tier 13 Legendary Units and 100 Tier 14 Mythic Units he just got as mission rewards might not be enough.

Not even close.

That gap was still pretty damn big.

"...Whatever. I’ll shelve that for now—wait until Cicero awakens, then I’ll deal with it," Ethan muttered, shaking his head.

His eyes flicked back to the mission reward screen, narrowing slightly as he read aloud, "One Level 4 Special Resource Mine... Level 4 Special Resource? Gotta ask Auremax about that."

He turned toward Elynn and spoke softly, "Elynn, I’m leaving the battlefield cleanup to you. Let everyone rest—we’re in the clear for now. Oh, and send Auremax to me. I’ve got a few questions for him."

"Yes, my lord," Elynn nodded and left without hesitation.

A few moments later, the sound of wings slicing through the air echoed above as Auremax soared down and landed gracefully in front of him.

"You summoned me, my lord?"

"Auremax, I’ve got a question. What exactly is a Level 4 Special Resource?" Ethan asked.

"Ah, Level 4 Special Resource..." Auremax paused for a second, then chuckled. "That’s a classification system the archmages from the Tower faction came up with. It ranks the value of Special Resources. You probably already know—not all Special Resources are created equal. Some are way more valuable than others. A Level 4? That’s already considered pretty damn good."

"Special Resources are ranked from Level 1 to Level 7. Levels 1 and 2 are your standard Special Resources—nothing too fancy. Levels 3 and 4 are considered rare. Anything above that? Super rare and insanely valuable."

"Level 5 Special Resources are what we call ’Legendary Resources.’ Level 6? That’s ’Mythic Resource’ territory. As for Level 7... I honestly don’t know much. Info on those is scarce—practically nonexistent."

"I see..." Ethan nodded, the pieces clicking into place. Then he asked, "So where does Dragonblood Crystal fall on that scale?"
