Chapter 1034: Chapter 480: Coming and Going! _2
“I’m Mike, a Lieutenant Colonel, just like you, under the Galaxy Revolutionary Army,” Mike smiled kindly. “A lot of people like to come to me as the middleman to mediate between parties.”
“You’re here on behalf of the ‘Angel Graveyard’?” Shen Ye asked.
“I don’t represent them. I simply hope that you’ll be magnanimous and give them a chance—the higher-ups at ‘Angel Graveyard’ want to meet with you personally to express their apology,” Mike said.
Apology?
I killed your project leader, wiped out your subordinates, and considered the matter settled.
And now you’re still pestering me?
Well then—
Hold up!
Apology…
Must be bribing me with money, right?
What a joke.
Do you really think a bit of money is enough to buy me?
“How much—no, how do they intend to express their apology?” Shen Ye cleared his throat and asked.
“Do you want me to let him talk to you face-to-face?” Mike replied.
“No problem.” Shen Ye said.
—Cash isn’t entirely unacceptable.
Exchange rates aren’t bad right now.
European or American currency? Doesn’t matter, I’ll take them all.
As they continued their conversation, a man dressed in a black robe with a pair of pristine white wings on his back appeared outside the noodle shop.
Shen Ye raised a brow.
Victoria’s Secret: After-hours?
The man slowly walked over to the entrance, speaking loudly:
“Honorable Shen Ye, we performed great sacrifices and divination and have discovered that you possess an extremely formidable weapon.”
“It is precisely this weapon that allowed you to annihilate all of our people.”
“You destroyed our research project.”
Shen Ye listened intently, beginning to catch on to something amiss.
Why does every sentence of his circle back to my weapon?
—What about the money?
“What do you want to say?” Shen Ye asked.
“You’re barely in your twenties and yet, relying on an extraordinarily powerful weapon, you’ve earned the rank of Major General.”
The man’s gaze carried an indescribable meaning, both amused and mocking, as he said:
“Guess how many people would come after your weapon if this information got out?”
“You probably wouldn’t even have a chance to sleep peacefully.”
“Or rather—are you sure you want to keep living?”
Shen Ye was unsure how to respond.
Who was the last person to speak to me like this?
The Truth Eighth Layer White Night Spirit King.
It had the power and was ready to take my life anytime.
And you want my life too?
Come!
Prove your strength!
Shen Ye spoke: “Mike, you said they came to apologize, that’s the only reason I haven’t acted.”
“They might just be trying to raise the stakes before negotiating with you,” Mike shrugged helplessly.
Shen Ye glanced at the noodle shop’s entrance and said blandly: “This guy with the beard threatened me the moment we met—utterly rude, no manners, no upbringing.”
The bearded man froze in place.
He neither spoke nor made any moves, simply standing stiffly, unmoving.
—Truth Quadruple·Burst Drummer!
“You attacked the opponent’s ‘lack of manners.'”
“The opponent was too weak—this attack was overkill, creating an oppressive effect that left them in a ‘stupefied’ state.”
The bearded man trembled uncontrollably as though he wanted to retaliate.
But he couldn’t even move a finger.
—Completely immobilized!
Mike’s expression shifted multiple times. He cleared his throat and suddenly chuckled:
“Major General, how about giving him one more chance to reorganize his words?”
“—I believe this time he’ll know what he should and shouldn’t say.”
Shen Ye acted as if he hadn’t heard.
He silently picked up a chopstick from the table.
The chopstick stood upright, slicing through the air.
In an instant, a sharp arc of blade light flew from the chopstick, sweeping past the noodle shop’s entrance.
Shing—
A head shot into the sky.
Amidst the spray of blood mist, the head flew far away, landing with a “thud” on the deserted street. It rolled a few times before stopping.
The face on the head still bore an expression of disbelief.
The headless corpse stood at the noodle shop entrance, swaying slightly in the wind, but remained upright and motionless.
Dead.
Yet his corpse stayed standing, suppressed and unable to budge.
Such a bizarre scene rendered Mike pale.
Shen Ye wasn’t exactly cheerful either.
He propped his face up with one hand and tapped the table with the chopstick:
“Mike, I know you came to help mediate, but I’m still young and don’t quite understand all the intricacies of such situations. I can’t seem to figure out how exactly they plan to express their apology.”
“Whenever I feel someone’s threatening me—”
“I retaliate.”
Mike stared at the still upright, immovable headless corpse, wiping sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.
This teenager had killed the ‘Angel Graveyard’ Asian Region’s director with just a chopstick.
One chopstick!
Mike was about to say something when he suddenly turned his head to look outside the noodle shop.
The corpse and head outside had abruptly vanished.
Suddenly—
A voice followed:
“Young man, your sword techniques are impressive, but such techniques require a treasure sword to truly shine.”
“Your blade—”
“I’ll be taking it.”
Shen Ye instinctively lowered his head to look.
Sure enough, the Rain Poison Blade hanging at his waist was gone.
Two lines of faintly glowing text quietly appeared:
“You were struck by a special non-offensive technique.”
“This technique cannot harm you but can steal items from your body.”
—So it’s theft.
Shen Ye chuckled, placing the chopstick back on the table.
“No need to fight,” he said.
“Giving up so soon? Or are you planning to use this tactic to get your treasure sword back?” the voice asked.
Shen Ye spoke:
“Mike said you all came to apologize, so I’ll give you a final ten seconds.”
“If, after ten seconds, you still fail to provide a proper apology—”
