Chapter 29

Once my aunt was done explaining, and I was done deciding what I was going to do, she stood up and said, "Well, I better get going. I need to be ready for tomorrow's ceremony as well. Be sure to rest a lot and don't be late tomorrow."

I nodded and bid her goodbye. As much as I was an avid follower of 'Every hole is a goal', I'd much rather focus on the current number of holes within my current time frame. I needed to worry about the rest later.

Besides, it was time to start building the ingredients I required to go through body reformation. Body reformation was a serious subject, and I couldn't think about anything else while I focused on it, so I needed to make sure all the preparations were complete. If there was a single mistake, I'd have to not only start over again, but I might even end up sustaining some deep injuries that wouldn't be healed so easily.

So, I bid my aunt goodbye and came to the kitchen to check on Rayla, only to find her deeply asleep. I left her there and headed for my room.

As I may have mentioned before, an S rank spell required one million MP, while due to the system's restriction, my maximum MP could only be 10,000 MP. I could use several items to lower the skill cost or the class effects as well, but there was still a massive difference between ten thousand and a million.

To do that, these balls were perfect. The lowest one could store 100,000 points of mana, and the higher-ranked ones, such as an S rank one, could store a whopping ten million, so I could cast many spells using the orbs.

Anyway, I only purchased this one because that was the limit of my wealth. And besides, the cost would be the same even if I were to buy the one that stored a million MP for 100,000 SCs, so no difference there.

I began to put mana inside the orb, but I only had 1150 units of mana. Instead of purchasing a potion, I restored my mana through nature, which was then purified by the system, and then stored more mana in the orb.

The cycle of doing so went on and on for a while until I had to rest as my mind couldn't take much more of mana restoration. Still, I had managed to store about 40,000 points of mana, so I was still on track.

For my purposes, I believed mana of about a hundred million would do. I couldn't be sure, but for now, I decided to just keep that number in mind and make it my goal.

It was somewhere before noon, and sounds were coming from downstairs. Rayla was up and most probably doing the housework again. I rested for a bit before my mind was refreshed once more. My goal was to fill up that orb at least before anything else.

Once again, my mind was too tired to continue, and it was getting dark outside. I hadn't heard the voices of the family downstairs, so they probably weren't home yet.

The container was almost full, and I was confident I could fill it before sleeping tonight. Besides, I needed to calm myself down a little and focus on today's dick action as well.

So I closed my eyes to rest a little. I didn't know how long I was out for, but I could hear the commotion downstairs. I was about to go down when a worried Rayla met me on the stairs and grabbed me, "HURRY! JACK!"

As I came down, I saw a heavily injured family. Martha was unconscious with her back against the wall, but breathing. She was also covered in blood. The same could be said for Sandra, but she was at least conscious and supporting someone. On the other side, Lucas was also injured but supporting the person in the middle while the person in the middle was practically spilling his intestines on the floor.

"Lay him down flat!"

I immediately moved and arrived by his side. Although this would beg a lot of questions, I immediately purchased a healing potion from the shop and shoved it in Julian's throat, who was bleeding from every orifice.

He was almost gone, but there was still hope. I purchased another one and poured it on his body, especially his stomach, which was cut wide open.

I purchased another and gave it to Lucas and said, "Drink half and pour the rest of it on his wounds."

I did the same with Sandra, who did as she was told without question and purchased another potion to pour on Julian's wounds.

His wounds began to close up underneath the shower of healing potions, and his breathing began to become stable. I purchased another bottle and gave it to Rayla. "Give it to her!"

Rayla immediately did as she was told, and I purchased one more to remove the empty bottle from Julian's mouth, replacing it with another one and raising his head a little so he could swallow it.

Finally, he stopped breathing erratically, and his internals calmed down. I checked his pulse and slowly felt him stabilizing. He was still unconscious, but I had a good feeling he would be up soon.

I turned to Sandra, who was now not bleeding, at least thanks to the potion. I purchased another bottle and gave it to her and said, "Drink half by yourself and give him the rest."

Now that things had calmed down, she looked at the bottle with red liquid and looked at me. Still, it wasn't the time to ask questions, so she nodded and said, "Okay."

I left their side and approached Martha, who was the least injured out of all of them, but still unconscious. Her injuries were focused on her legs, but there wasn't much to worry about. They had already closed once she consumed the potion, so there was a good chance there wasn't anything to worry about now.

Still, just to be sure, I checked her internals to find her fully healed, and she, like Julian, would be waking up very soon. I sighed and flopped on my ass as well. The situation was too hectic all of a sudden, like a storm, and passed just like it as well.

I used ten healing potions in that short amount of time. I sighed and turned to Sandra, who was also looking at me, just like Rayla and Lucas, and asked, "What the hell happened?"

Sandra kept looking at me for a while before she replied, "We came across slave traders. They tried to take me and Martha. A fight ensued. We managed to escape but got heavily injured because they had a high-ranked awakened on their side."

"We wanted to go to the church for treatment, but we had no money. We came here so you could deliver first aid and then take Father to the church for healing." Sandra explained the situation, and I nodded once I got the gist of it. The number of injuries on them was anything but normal, so the guy they fought must have been quite a bit ruthless aside from being strong.

Also, another fact that surprised me was that there was slavery in this world. Well, slavery was a profitable business in this era, but I thought a world that didn't have any sexual activities wouldn't have slavery.

But then again, slaves were used to do a lot more things than just to sate sexual desires, like taking care of sick people or venting one's anger.

"Will he be alright?" Rayla asked worriedly.

Although she was sitting with Martha, she was looking at Julian, her husband, with great worry in her eyes.

I nodded and replied, "He will be fine. It may take some time for him to wake up, but he surely will."

Well, all things aside, even with the absence of sexual desire, emotions like love still existed in this world, and no doubt Rayla loved her husband and cared for her, even though I had used her body more than her husband ever did.

Damn. Not a good time to get excited over my thoughts.

While I was chiding myself, I heard Sandra's voice pull me out of my thoughts as she asked me a question, "Jack, what was that?"

It was obvious what she was asking about, and seeing as Lucas and Rayla were also looking at me with that question. I sighed and began to concoct a lie as I replied, "That was part of my..."
