My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty -
Chapter 887 - 887: One Man Is Enough
An Ying stopped in his tracks, instinctively tightening his grip on the Hongmeng Sword.
"It's them."
If they were stronger, he wouldn't be able to handle them, but these guys were just the right level of strength.
With a step forward, An Ying raised his hand and struck.
After all, the Hongmeng Sword was filled with power; he didn't need to channel his own energy into it.
He wasn't planning to fight; he just needed to prepare for an escape.
The Lava Clan warriors, unprepared, were caught off guard by his sudden strike, which nearly cost them their lives.
"Shhh..."
A tearing sound echoed as the dozens of Lava Clan warriors were sent flying a hundred paces away.
Regaining their balance, their faces twisted in rage, their eyes burning with murderous intent.
"How dare you strike at us!"
They already hated An Ying, and now his attack had enraged them further.
Sensing the power radiating from them, An Ying sneered and quickly retreated.
"A bunch of useless fools. If you've got the guts, come chase me!"
He couldn't be bothered to waste time here—Gu Lan had probably already prepared.
An Ying's speed was fast, but how could the Lava Clan warriors swallow this insult?
Their eyes flared with fury as they began to release their power.
An Ying's speed was certainly not slow, but it still wasn't enough.
Soon, they were closing in on him.
"In Lava Clan territory, you'll never escape today!"
The Lava Clan warriors, already filled with rage, had no intention of letting this go.
"Think you can kill me? You'll need the strength to back it up!"
With the Hongmeng Sword in hand, An Ying wasn't afraid of these opponents.
As his words fell, the Hongmeng Sword shot out from his grasp.
The shrill sound of the blade slicing through the air filled the space as it transformed into nearly a thousand sword shadows.
Though the Hongmeng Sword's power was formidable, it had reached its limit—after all, it wasn't in Gu Lan's hands.
It couldn't pierce them, but it was enough to allow An Ying to escape to a distance of ten thousand feet.
Seeing they hadn't kept up, An Ying slowed his pace deliberately.
"You useless trash, if you can't keep up, I'll be leaving!"
His taunts only fueled the Lava Clan's fury.
Faces twisted, eyes bloodshot, they were ready to tear him apart.
"As members of Lava Clan, if we don't shred you to pieces today, we are unworthy of the name!"
Roars erupted as the Lava Clan warriors let loose with all their power.
But this played right into Gu Lan's plan!
After a short while, An Ying reached the location he had agreed upon with Gu Lan.
Stopping, he didn't advance any further.
"Gentlemen, today may very well be your last day!"
An Ying's sudden words left the Lava Clan warriors momentarily stunned.
But soon, they realized something was wrong—there were no other presences around them.
"Your last day? We'll be the ones tearing you apart!"
The Lava Clan warriors didn't hesitate to pour out their energy, intent on killing.
An Ying chuckled dismissively, completely unperturbed.
"You think you can do that?"
"Master Gu, I've brought them here. It's up to you now!"
An Ying understood his own limits. Against these warriors, there was no way he could win.
Such trouble was better handled by Gu Lan.
His words hadn't finished when a figure suddenly appeared in the distance.
"Such big words from you all!"
With that voice, the Lava Clan warriors all looked up in surprise.
"You?"
"Just you?"
Facing their doubts, Gu Lan smiled coldly.
"One man is enough!"
With that, he tightened his grip on the Hongmeng Sword, which flew back into his hands.
He infused his true energy, and the power within the sword surged.
Thousands of sword lights shimmered, and the piercing sound of the sword cut through the heavens.
The Lava Clan warriors had no idea how to respond. They hadn't expected such a sudden burst of power from Gu Lan, making them cautious.
"How... How could you?"
Before the question could even finish, Gu Lan's sword pierced through one of the warriors' bodies.
"How could I be this strong?"
"Did you really think my strength was limited to what you've seen?"
With that, Gu Lan raised his sword again.
Though the Lava Clan warriors were powerful, they were no match for the strength Gu Lan unleashed.
In moments, they were all lying in pools of their own blood.
Gu Lan wiped the blood off his Hongmeng Sword, and his aura immediately subsided.
"Thought you'd be tough? Turns out you're just a bunch of useless trash."
He had hoped these warriors might have some use, but they were disappointing.
An Ying didn't hesitate, quickly stepping forward.
"Master Gu, the problem is solved. We should leave now."
He knew it was best to leave.
They were near Lava Clan territory, and their little skirmish had likely drawn attention.
Staying any longer would only be dangerous, so escaping was the better option.
Gu Lan didn't seem to have any more tricks up his sleeve this time. He took a single step and disappeared.
An Ying followed immediately. He was already ready to leave and didn't want to stay any longer.
Soon enough, they were back in the palace.
But as they stopped, Gu Lan noticed that Xue Lengyan's face was not looking too good.
Seeing her expression, Gu Lan raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Is something wrong?"
At Gu Lan's question, Xue Lengyan's face turned serious.
"Master Gu, the Wizard Clan's attacks are growing more frequent. Our Blood Clan has already lost over a hundred powerful warriors!"
Gu Lan was shocked by the news.
Wasn't Mo Xuan focused on Lava Clan? Why was the Wizard Clan attacking them?
Just as Gu Lan was puzzled, Xue Lengyan spoke again.
"It's not Mo Xuan. It's the second elder of the Wizard Clan!"
"That guy again?"
Gu Lan was speechless. He hadn't killed him before, thinking he wouldn't cause more trouble. But it seemed he was wrong.
"Since he's here, let's make sure he doesn't leave!"
Gu Lan wasn't planning to intervene, but since this second elder had already shown up, there was no way he'd let him go.
The Hongmeng Sword reappeared, and just as Gu Lan was about to step out, Xue Lengyan suddenly stopped him.
"Master Gu, don't be too hasty. Even if you go, he won't meet with you."
Xue Lengyan knew Gu Lan's strength very well, and she was certain that even if he went, he wouldn't be able to force the second elder to show himself.
They needed to come up with a more balanced solution—otherwise, they might be caught in a never-ending war with the Wizard Clan, causing even more casualties.
Xue Lengyan and Gu Lan were allies, but she didn't want the Blood Clan to keep losing warriors.
"Does the Blood Clan master have a good plan?"
