My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty
Chapter 883 - 883: Meeting the Elder of Wizard Clan

The Second Elder merely gave him a cold glance, and Mo Xuan swallowed the words he had been about to speak. His heart felt unwilling, but he knew he could not afford to offend this person standing before him.

As Mo Xuan stood there in a daze, the Second Elder's icy voice cut through the silence.

"Does young Lord have anything else to say?"

Mo Xuan shook his head repeatedly without speaking. He knew now was not the time to talk.

"Apologies, Second Elder, I was too hasty," Mo Xuan responded humbly.

The Second Elder nodded, his expression still stern. "I hope young Lord does not take offense."

With that, the Second Elder patted Mo Xuan's shoulder before turning and leaving.

Mo Xuan didn't dare speak out of turn in front of him. However, that didn't mean he had swallowed his anger.

He knew the Wizard Clan soldiers here were unreliable, so he had no choice but to resort to his trump cards. As the young Lord of Wizard Clan, surely he had some power of his own.

Mo Xuan didn't hesitate further. After sensing the absence of the Second Elder's presence, he turned and left without delay. The other two Elders didn't stop him, knowing better than to interfere with the young Lord's decisions.

At the Jing Nation Palace, Gu Lan had just concealed his aura when Xue Lengyan entered.

Xue Lengyan bowed slightly and spoke.

"Master Gu."

Gu Lan raised his head slightly. "How is everything progressing?"

Gu Lan wasn't interested in anything else; he simply wanted to know what the situation was between the two clans now.

"It's not going well. A strong member of Wizard Clan has arrived," Xue Lengyan replied.

Gu Lan raised an eyebrow in surprise. "A strong member of Wizard Clan? Who is it?"

He had expected Wizard Clan to be in a frantic rush over this matter, but he hadn't anticipated them sending someone here.

Xue Lengyan's face became serious as he hesitated for a moment before responding. "It's the Second Elder, one of the most powerful figures in Wizard Clan."

Gu Lan nodded thoughtfully, sensing the gravity of the situation. His aura flared instantly.

"Since he's here, then we should meet him," Gu Lan said without hesitation.

The other party had already come to him, and it wouldn't be good for him to continue hiding. This was his domain in Jing Nation, and he couldn't let anyone undermine his authority here.

Without further delay, Gu Lan took a step forward and vanished into the void.

Xue Lengyan, seeing this, followed suit. Their auras synchronized as they quickly arrived miles away.

As they surveyed the surrounding area, Gu Lan sneered coldly. His Hongmeng Sword appeared in his hand.

Since the other side had already come, there was no need for further concealment.

With a flick of his sword, the space ahead exploded.

"Since you've come, why hide in the shadows?" Gu Lan's cold words resonated as a blood-red figure descended from the distant void.

The figure's power was overwhelming. With each step, the air crackled with energy.

Gu Lan frowned as he took a quick glance at the newcomer. No wonder this person had the courage to come alone—his strength was indeed formidable.

"I assume you are the Second Elder. What brings you here?" Gu Lan asked, his tone steady.

Although he had not yet made a move, his aura made his intentions clear. The other party was clearly not here with friendly intentions, so there was no point in wasting time.

"You must be Gu Lan, the so-called one," the Second Elder said with a slight frown, clearly dismissive.

Gu Lan was at the same cultivation level as the Second Elder, and the energy they exuded was nearly identical. In fact, the Second Elder had never been at a disadvantage in a fight against someone of the same rank.

"Enough of the idle chatter. What is the Second Elder's purpose in being here?" Gu Lan asked impatiently, his eyes narrowing.

He didn't want to waste time on this encounter. Once he dealt with the Second Elder, he would attend to other matters.

The Second Elder, however, didn't take the question seriously. He waved his hand, and a powerful surge of energy swept across the area, shattering the sword light that Gu Lan had unleashed.

"Boom… Boom…" The explosions echoed, and the space around them began to crumble.

Gu Lan was slightly taken aback and was pushed back several steps by the force of the blast.

He steadied himself, his face darkening. His eyes gleamed with cold fury.

At first, Gu Lan had not taken this person seriously. But now, he had to admit that the Second Elder's power was much stronger than he had anticipated.

Gu Lan realized that continuing the fight could result in unfavorable outcomes. More importantly, he didn't want to waste too much of his energy on this battle.

"If we keep fighting, neither of us will win," Gu Lan said coolly, trying to gauge the Second Elder's intentions.

The Second Elder's face darkened at Gu Lan's words.

"Master Gu, are you not planning to fight?" he asked.

"If you don't intend to fight, that's fine," he continued. "But you must admit that you offended Lava Clan, not Wizard Clan."

Gu Lan frowned, confused by the Second Elder's words.

"What do you mean? I don't understand."

At those words, the Second Elder's expression turned grim. His eyes darkened with murderous intent.

Gu Lan smiled coldly, noticing the change in the Second Elder's demeanor.

"I don't know Lava Clan, so why are you pressing me so hard?" Gu Lan asked, his tone indifferent.

He had only just managed to steer the situation to this point. He certainly didn't want the Second Elder to ruin everything now.

"As the ruler of Jing Nation, do you only dare to act but not admit your mistakes?" The Second Elder's voice carried a sharp edge.

He had come here to resolve the conflict between Lava Clan and Wizard Clan. He understood the cause of the issue, so he was unwilling to wait any longer. But Gu Lan's refusal to admit fault left him at a loss.

"Don't look at me like that. Do you really think you can handle me?" Gu Lan's face remained calm, but his words were a warning.

He knew this person was difficult, but he also had the strength to protect himself.
