My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty
Chapter 777 - 777: The Request for Gu Lan's Assistance

"My Lord, I have something that I am unsure whether I should speak about," Zhongren suddenly spoke up. Gu Lan, intrigued, cast a questioning glance at him.

"Speak freely," Gu Lan replied, his tone calm.

Zhongren's face grew serious as he said, "The people from the Reincarnate Clan probably have no good intentions. I ask my Lord to remain vigilant."

Although he had not had direct contact with those from the Reincarnate Clan, Zhongren had a feeling that they harbored ulterior motives. Seeing Zhongren's grave expression, Gu Lan gave a meaningful smile.

"Rest assured, I am well-prepared," he said, his voice steady and confident. These people wouldn't dare to make a move against him. If they did, Gu Lan was certain that none of the Reincarnate Clan would leave Lanyan Royal School alive.

As the master of this place, how could Gu Lan easily place his trust in others?

"You all stay alert as well. Do not disturb them unless necessary," Gu Lan continued.

"Please rest assured, my Lord," Zhongren and the others responded. They certainly wouldn't stir up trouble, and there were some matters in which they had no interest.

At this moment, a figure suddenly entered the palace. The newcomer was dressed in a blood-red robe, and an eerie aura of blood energy surrounded them. Upon seeing this person, Zhongren and the others furrowed their brows, their expressions darkening.

"Blood Clan. Why are they here at Lanyan Royal School?" Zhongren muttered.

They had little contact with the Blood Clan and had no interest in their presence. However, when the Blood Clan member stepped forward, they did not respond to Zhongren's inquiry. Instead, their gaze remained fixed on Gu Lan, and they respectfully bowed to him.

"Master Gu, our Young Lord has a matter to inform you about," the Blood Clan member said.

Gu Lan's curiosity was piqued. Xue Lengyan had something to report? That caught his interest.

"What does the Blood Clan's Young Lord wish to tell me?" Gu Lan asked.

The Blood Clan member did not speak. Instead, they waved their hand, and a scene appeared before them. It was a scene showing the Golden Armour Guard of the Bright Clan, and the location depicted was the land of the Reincarnate Clan.

Seeing the image, Gu Lan's expression darkened slightly, and a hint of seriousness appeared in his eyes.

"What is this?" he asked, his voice a bit more tense.

The Blood Clan member did not provide a direct answer but instead stood and walked towards the exit.

"How you handle this is up to you, Master Gu," the Blood Clan member said, not looking back as they spoke.

Zhongren and the others were puzzled by the cryptic message, while Gu Lan's expression grew more somber. Though the Blood Clan member hadn't elaborated, the implication was clear. This matter needed to be communicated to the Reincarnate Clan leader, but not just yet. It was best to wait until the Bright Clan made a move. Only then could the tensions between the two factions be escalated.

However, this approach meant that the remaining members of the Reincarnate Clan would likely meet their end, and Gu Lan did not want their deaths to be on his conscience, as they had no personal grievances with him.

With a flick of his hand, Gu Lan released a golden light that shimmered from his palm.

"Reincarnate Clan's leader, come here," he called out, his voice resonating throughout the palace.

Changsheng, who was present, furrowed his brows upon hearing the summons. He was puzzled but responded quickly, standing up and walking toward the palace.

"Master Gu, what is the matter that you need me here for?" he asked respectfully.

Gu Lan gave him a neutral glance before turning his attention to the image before them.

Changsheng followed his gaze and, upon seeing the image, his face immediately darkened. His eyes filled with murderous intent.

"They are from the Bright Clan... why are they at the land of my Reincarnate Clan?" he demanded coldly.

The Bright Clan's strength was far superior to the previous group that had come. They were much stronger, and they were also equipped with treasures.

Seeing the anger in Changsheng's expression, Gu Lan finally spoke calmly.

"They may take action soon," he said.

Changsheng's face softened slightly, but the seriousness did not leave his expression. "I ask Master Gu for your assistance."

Although Changsheng was powerful, he wasn't confident he could handle this group alone. If he used all his strength, he would likely suffer significant injuries. He certainly didn't want to risk death.

As soon as he finished speaking, Gu Lan spoke slowly, "I can accompany you, but you know that there's no such thing as a free lunch in this world. You'll have to offer something in exchange."

Their relationship was one of cooperation, and without mutual benefit, Gu Lan had no reason to act.

"We will offer you two more favors from our clan," Changsheng said, his tone urgent.

Gu Lan shook his head lightly with a smile.

"Not enough," he said simply.

He had expected Changsheng to be willing to offer something more, but this sudden turn of events caught him off guard.

"Master Gu, what is it that you desire?" Changsheng asked.

"I want the Reincarnate Skill from your clan," Gu Lan replied with cold determination.

At this, Changsheng froze in place. His eyes hardened, and his face darkened.

The Reincarnate Skill was the Reincarnate Clan's most precious treasure. Gu Lan knew about it, which surprised Changsheng greatly.

Seeing the change in Changsheng's expression, Gu Lan spoke with a calm demeanor, "You can consider it, but I fear time won't wait."

"Very well," Changsheng said after a long pause, his voice steady despite the internal conflict. "If you help me deal with them, I will offer you the Reincarnate Skill, no hesitation."

Gu Lan remained unmoved, extending his hand toward Changsheng.

Changsheng was momentarily stunned, his face paling further. He had not expected Gu Lan to take such a direct approach.

"Master Gu, isn't this a bit too much?" he asked.

"This is not an act of opportunism, but a negotiation," Gu Lan replied smoothly. "If you do not agree, then so be it."

Changsheng still didn't quite grasp the situation. He was the one asking for help, not Gu Lan. But even with this realization, he had little choice but to agree. After all, the current situation left him with few options.

Reluctantly, he handed over one of the two ancient books in his possession. "This is the first volume of the Reincarnate Skill. After this matter is over, I will give you the second volume as well."

Gu Lan looked at the ancient book with satisfaction. He nodded slightly, then took the book and tucked it away.

"Since you have shown such sincerity, I will accompany you," he said with a slight smile.

With that, Gu Lan's aura flared as he leapt into the sky.

---

The speed at which they moved was incredible, and in the blink of an eye, they arrived in the dim expanse of the void.

Once they stopped, Changsheng's expression grew dark. He saw that the few remaining members of his clan were desperately holding off the attackers, but they were gravely injured.

Seeing this scene, Gu Lan was deeply shocked. Not a single one of these warriors had perished despite being outnumbered by over a hundred opponents. They were still managing to fight back fiercely!

Suppressing his shock, Gu Lan turned his gaze toward Changsheng.

"Since the situation in your clan is not at its worst, why did you bring me here?" he asked, his voice carrying a hint of suspicion.
