My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty -
Chapter 756 - 756: Shanggu Yan's Unwillingness
Inside the palace, Ding True Man's face darkened, and the flames of fury in his eyes had already ignited. He had originally thought these people would not dare to return, but it seemed they had come back quickly enough.
At this moment, Gu Lan was also drawn to the overwhelming power approaching. He wasn't at all surprised by their arrival. After all, Shanggu Yan was the young lord of the Upper God Clan. It was only natural that he wouldn't swallow his pride after the last defeat.
Hongmeng Sword emerged, and Gu Lan's aura stirred. Since they had come, he would take this opportunity. How could he let it slip by?
But as he took a step forward, Mu Yuyan suddenly stood and walked toward him, a smile still on her face.
"I'll go with you."
Upon hearing this, Gu Lan smiled faintly and turned to say, "This kind of trouble, I can solve it alone."
From the aura in the air, it was evident that Shanggu Yan had come fully prepared. While Gu Lan could handle it, Mu Yuyan might not be so safe. He didn't want her to face any danger.
Refusing her offer, Mu Yuyan, unwilling to back down, spoke with determination. "With you there, how could I be in any danger?"
Seeing her firm stance, he stepped forward and spoke gently, "You wait here. Don't worry."
With that, he leapt into the air. Ding True Man and Shadow Slave, who had appeared at the same time, greeted him respectfully.
"Greetings, master!"
Their expressions were grim as their gazes locked onto the approaching threat. Though neither moved, their anger was palpable, their eyes burning with fury.
"A bunch of useless fools! I'm going to kill them!" Ding True Man growled, his voice cold as his aura flared to life.
However, Gu Lan raised his hand, stopping him before he could advance. "Can you handle all these hundreds of people?"
These individuals were not weak. No matter how strong Ding True Man was, he couldn't guarantee that things would go smoothly.
Ding True Man opened his mouth to respond but was silenced by Gu Lan's sharp words. His face shifted slightly with realization.
"Are we just supposed to watch them come and cause chaos?" Ding True Man's anger flared again, but Gu Lan remained unresponsive, his face cold.
Without a word, Gu Lan walked forward, his ice-cold gaze locking onto Shanggu Yan.
"I don't understand. I let you go once, and you're so eager to die again?"
"Last time, I was careless. If not for that, how could I have been defeated by you?" Shanggu Yan sneered, his eyes full of killing intent.
Upon hearing these words, Gu Lan sighed helplessly. His energy surged, and the Hongmeng Sword emitted an eerie, resounding hum.
"Since that's the case, don't blame me."
Before Shanggu Yan could react, Gu Lan blurred into motion, his figure like a shadow, dashing toward him.
Gu Lan's strike was so fast that Shanggu Yan didn't even have time to dodge.
The sound of tearing filled the air, and blood splattered as Shanggu Yan was sent flying several hundred feet away. He still wore a grimace of rage, but the pain was evident in his features.
"Damn you! How dare you strike me! I'll make you pay for this!" he roared in fury, before turning toward his hundred-strong team of warriors.
"A bunch of useless trash! What are you waiting for? Kill him!"
At this moment, Shanggu Yan was seething with humiliation, his power no longer concealed. However, his current state was far from ideal. The strength he showed wasn't enough to make any difference.
The hundred warriors, not hesitating, unleashed an onslaught of cold light that rushed toward Gu Lan.
Gu Lan's face darkened, and a murderous glint flickered in his eyes. He didn't wait for them to close in. With a cold expression, he raised his hand and swung his sword.
The sound of tearing air rang out as a sword light descended from the void, immediately cutting off their attack and halting the warriors in their tracks.
The power of Gu Lan's strike was terrifying. The warriors were stunned, their faces filled with shock and fear.
"I advise you all to leave now. If you don't want to die, don't waste any more time. Otherwise, you will all die!" Gu Lan's cold words rang in the air.
Although he had already given them a chance, the warriors, despite their fear, didn't back down. None of them moved, but their resolve was unwavering.
"You dare harm the young lord of the Upper God Clan? You will regret this!" a voice of ice-cold malice echoed, followed by hundreds of sword shadows that flew toward Gu Lan.
Gu Lan sighed in exasperation. "Why won't you listen? Do you want to die here so badly?"
As the warriors closed in, Gu Lan's expression turned cold. With a swift motion, he unleashed a devastating strike.
This time, he showed no mercy. His sword descended like a divine retribution, and dozens of the warriors were instantly cut down and left to fall in pools of blood.
The remaining warriors managed to dodge, but many were still wounded, their bodies marked with gashes.
Gu Lan chuckled coldly, watching the sight. "So you still have a little fight in you?"
From the void above, hundreds of sword shadows appeared, surging down toward the remaining attackers.
"Prepare yourselves," Gu Lan warned, his voice echoing with finality.
The warriors, now fully aware of the deadly force closing in, immediately adjusted their stances. They knew they were facing something far beyond their capability. The energy was too overwhelming.
"Boom!"
The sky shook as a tremendous explosion reverberated through the heavens. The surrounding space tore apart, and the hundred warriors were swallowed by a black hole in the air, their screams echoing as they were consumed by the dark void.
Gu Lan, standing at the center of it all, was unscathed, his eyes colder than ever. The few remaining survivors were trembling in fear, their faces ashen with dread.
"Do you still want to fight?" Gu Lan's voice carried an ominous tone, and he raised his sword once again.
He swung it effortlessly, and several more warriors fell, their bodies crumpling to the ground, lifeless.
The others, unable to continue fighting, fled in terror, their morale shattered.
From a distance, Shanggu Yan watched the carnage unfold, his face now pale with disbelief. He had never imagined that his powerful warriors would be so easily slaughtered.
"A bunch of useless fools! Why aren't you forming a formation yet? Do you want to just stand there and watch me get killed?" he bellowed angrily.
His voice crackled with authority, and finally, the remaining warriors snapped out of their stupor. They quickly formed a battle formation, launching a counterattack with all their might.
Golden lights surged into the sky as their weapons transformed, ready to clash once again with Gu Lan. Though they were still afraid, their resolve had been reignited. At the very least, they could now stand and fight.
Gu Lan raised an eyebrow in surprise. He hadn't expected them to still have a trick up their sleeves. Though it seemed to be a last-ditch effort, it was still something to consider.
But to him, it was nothing more than a desperate struggle.
"This is just pathetic. Surrender already. Why waste any more time here?" Gu Lan muttered, his patience running thin. His killing intent was evident as he stepped forward, his cold eyes locked onto his enemies.
The battle was about to reach its deadly conclusion, but the Upper God Clan's forces were still clinging to the hope of victory.
