Chapter 337: Nessa’s Rage

Chapter 337: Nessa’s Rage

As Nessa’s demonic energy was rising while talking with the pink goblin shaman, I started to position myself behind the monster in an effort to assassinate him quickly.

Our devil friend was seconds away from snapping and attacking the monsters, so I wanted to take out the strongest one before she alerted all of them.

I took out my adamantite sword and stood behind the throne, fusing it with lightning and fire magic in a second before slicing horizontally, aiming at the neck of the goblin shaman.

My attack sliced the back of the throne and removed my invisibility. Still, when I realized the lack of resistance on my blade, I noticed that the shaman wasn’t sitting on the throne anymore.

"Intruders?" I heard the raspy voice of the goblin behind me.

I quickly turned around and tried to slice the monster’s head, but he took a quick step back and avoided it before casting a surge of wind magic that pushed me away from him.

"INTRUDERS!" the goblin shaman shouted loudly, his voice echoing throughout the entire cave and alerting the rest of the pink goblins.

As the goblin soldiers approached the throne room, Melina and the rest of my team got out of their invisibility to fight them. Still, we needed to be careful with our masks since they were the only thing that allowed us to breathe inside the cave.

I got a little distracted by the excessive amount of goblins that were coming for us, leaving an opening for the shaman to produce a fire slice spell that covered the entire throne room.

Luckily, I was able to coat my body with a thick layer of MP before it hit me, so I didn’t receive much damage from his attack. Nonetheless, if I hadn’t done that, it would have sliced my body in two.

Nessa followed up by attacking the shaman. Her fists were charged with demonic energy that made the cave shake with her strike, sending the goblin into a wall.

I could tell that she was angry about what the goblin had said before, but she was also confused about it.

The goblins recognized her as their creator, but Nessa had no recollection of creating any monsters, as we all knew that was something that Drakzen did.

’Somehow, I feel like this is also his doing...’ I thought as I watched Nessa rush at the goblin with raging eyes.

In a quick succession of attacks, Nessa landed dozens of punches on the monster, breaking some of his bones and kicking him face-first into a wall that crumbled on top of him.

However, the shaman had regenerative powers, just like the first goblin king did.

Their powers to regenerate would get slower the more we hurt them, but that didn’t mean that it would be easy, considering that the shaman was at least ten times stronger than the previous goblin king we fought.

The rest of our team was fighting the other goblin soldiers, who were casting spells all over the place and making the cave even harder to transverse as the rocks and debris covered the paths.

Suddenly, the goblin shaman’s energy rose up with a threatening aura that made me freeze momentarily.

He was bloody from the beating he was receiving from Nessa, but his wounds were healed by his regeneration skill.

He raised both of his arms to the sides, and the entire underground throne room started to shake.

’Earth magic?’ I pondered for a very brief moment before rocky spikes extruded from every single corner of the room.

From the ground, walls, and ceiling. It only took half a second for the massive spikes to appear, and even though I reacted quickly and tried to avoid them, I was still impaled on my right arm.

Nessa wasn’t as lucky, however, and when I glanced in her direction, I saw that she had both of her arms and one leg impaled by the spikes.

Still, the goblin shaman wasn’t done, and I noticed how the spikes were turning hot red as if they were being heated up.

"Nessa!" I shouted while I tried casting a barrier to protect us from the explosion that was about to take place in the throne room.

Before I knew it, all of the spikes exploded, and a massive torrent of fire covered the area.

I was able to cast the barrier around me, except for my right impaled arm, which was severely burnt from the attack.

I couldn’t see Nessa from the cloud of smoke and dust, but I could feel her demonic energy was double of what it was when we started the fight.

As my eyes adjusted, I saw Nessa in her true demon form, holding the goblin shaman by the neck.

She looked much taller than in her half-demon and human form, with two black wings on her back, black face marks that trailed from her eyes to her cheeks, and her two fangs had grown in size.

It had been years since Nessa used her true transformation, as she explained to us that the point of becoming a human was leaving behind their demon forms.

Even Jackson didn’t fully transform when fighting the others in Guanghua, so we knew that this was an unspoken rule they took seriously.

"I understand now..." said Nessa while holding the goblin shaman in the air by his neck.

"That bastard Drakzen..." she continued.

’Uh, oh...’ I thought.

"STOP! USING! MY! BLOOD!" she shouted loudly, her voice echoing and reverberating in the cave.

Using her other hand, she stabbed the shaman in the chest while still hanging in the air from the grip on his neck.

With her hand inside the monster’s chest, she found the blood orb and squeezed it, making it sound like shattering glass and dropping his body on the ground.

"Lady of the Pink... Why?" the goblin asked as his body turned to dust.

Nonetheless, Nessa didn’t reply and simply looked down on the shaman until his body had utterly disappeared.

"Nessa... Are you okay?" I asked, noticing that she was still in her true devil form.

When she glanced at me, it was as if she didn’t recognize me, so I got a bit nervous since I didn’t want to fight my friend.
