Chapter 141: The Terra Titan

When the Terra Titan stood up behind the walls of Kalusia that were visible not too far from the empress’ army, she quickly commanded them to scatter, as staying close to each other gave the titan a better shot at eliminating several soldiers with one attack.

My companions and I took flight, but before I could rush to the giant, I was stopped by Gina.

The Terra Titan was one of the protectors of Kalusia, and Gina told me that due to his mission given by Garon, the God of Beasts, he couldn’t use his titanic powers for anything other than protecting the nation.

’Makes sense, or Zagor could have just simply sent him to destroy their enemies’ cities and armies...’ I thought.

Gina expressed the importance of not killing the titan, and I somewhat agreed with her.

I mean, he was obviously being controlled by the devil, but he was also extremely dangerous, and not taking him out could cost the lives of dozens, if not hundreds, of soldiers.

Before the battle-maid could give me more tips, the titan hurled a massive boulder in our direction that was going to land on a pack of soldiers on the ground, so I used earth magic to shatter the rock in the air and propelled myself toward him.

If we got closer to the wall, then he wouldn’t need to attack the soldiers that were further away from it.

Nonetheless, the closer we got to the titan, the more I noticed his incredible size. It must have been around 100 meters tall, as I believed it could topple the giant redwood tree at End Forest if they were next to each other.

When he spotted us flying toward him, the titan waved its arm, meaning to slap us away, but Vespera, Gina, and I maneuvered quickly and avoided it. However, the air current from the wake of his heavy arm still pushed us back quite a bit.

At that moment, Yoru quickly got out of my shadow and started using air magic to run in the air, leaving me speechless for a moment.

[What the-? Yoru, what are you doing?] I asked my companion using telepathy.

I didn’t even know that he could cast a spell that allowed him to run in the air as if he were running on the ground, but that wasn’t my main concern.

Yoru was rushing straight at the titan, who waved his arm again, making us move quickly to avoid it. That time, however, I used air magic to put a barrier around me and redirected the wind from the wake of his arm so that it wouldn’t keep pushing me back.

[Yoru!] I called my companion again, who managed to land on the titan’s arm and was running up on it like a mountain.

The Terra Titan had two distinctive features that contrasted with his massive rocky body, which was as smooth as a castle wall.

One was the crack on his chest that produced a red glow, and the other was the two shiny red rocks on his face that seemed to be his eyes.

[The red rocks!] Yoru exclaimed in my head, using his telepathy.

"Huh?" I pondered out loud, wondering if Yoru had found the titan’s weakness.

Right at that moment, Gina caught up to me after she had been pushed back by the wind from the wake of his attacks and kept explaining what she was trying to tell me before.

"Yoru must have seen it..." she said, elaborating that the red rocks were the main power source of the titan.

Gina explained that the glowing that came from its chest was what they called the "titan’s heart," and as long as the heart wasn’t destroyed, the titan could always be brought back to life.

"I see... I understand." I replied, focusing on Yoru’s position and teleporting straight to him, making me appear on the arm of the titan as my companion was running up.

It was almost a 90-degree slope, so I had to use earth magic to keep my feet stuck to the titan’s body as I quickly ran up with Yoru.

[Yoru, we need to get the heart without destroying it.] I informed my companion with telepathy, who understood his task and started running in the air again to distract the titan.

Vespera and Gina were closing in, making the colossus stomp the ground and producing earth spikes that covered his body and the area around him, making me quickly jump off his arm before he could impale me.

With my body suspended in the air, I turned to look at the spiky body of the titan and clapped my hands firmly as I fused them with earth and sound magic, creating a loud soundwave that shattered most of the rocky nails on his torso.

Following my attack, Yoru crashed down from the sky like a shooting star and hit the titan in the head, making him take a step back as smoke rose from its forehead, and my companion quickly hid in the titan’s shadow.

Right after, Gina appeared, flying from the side, and used her blades to stab the titan right next to the crack in his chest. While her attack wasn’t enough to break the rocky exterior, it still pushed him back one more step.

"Now!" yelled Vespera as she landed on the titan’s chest and used earth magic to create a gaping hole that showed the massive red crystal that was powering the titan.

Without a moment to think, I teleported to Vespera’s position, who was holding the hole open with magic as the titan tried to close it with his own power forcibly.

Nonetheless, I landed with my feet against the colossus’s torso, grabbed the crystal with both hands and pulled with all of my strength until I heard the sound of stone shattering, making me fall back with the red orb in my hands.

I stopped my fall in the air and held the crystal tightly, which was the size of my own torso, then turned to look at the titan, whose body was slowly crumbling down.

*sigh* "Is it over?" I asked, feeling somewhat tired.

My companions and I slowly descended to the location with all the debris and rocks that the titan had used to transform, seeing if we could find anything suspicious nearby.

However, it was clear to us that the titan had been sent on a solo mission, as we couldn’t feel or see anything around us.
