Chapter 84: Chapter 84 - Cruxius Manipulation

"I will come back next time with gifts, Seleyena," Cruxius said with a wave of his hand, tilting his head and giving a wink.

Zipping up his pants, he exited the room. Already dressed, he focused ahead—where Darithi stood, composed and vigilant in her bodyguard attire. She glanced in his direction as he approached.

"Report," Cruxius inquired curtly as both he and Darithi moved down the hallway together.

"Thalia seems to be adjusting to the family without attempting to escape. The Hero Association is playing tactically in Zone 7, clearly on edge after the recent loss of their heroes," Darithi reported, having gathered up-to-date intel.

She was closely monitoring the growing tension between the Hero Association and the Villain Syndicate, as well as keeping an eye on Thalia’s progress at the main family estate, where she had been sent to learn the family business.

Naturally, there was some resistance.

Thalia had no prior connection to the household and no influence over its inner workings. It wasn’t easy for the family to simply trust her with their secrets or teach her their ways.

However, Cruxius had lied to the family head—claiming that Thalia was the woman he intended to marry.

’She’ll learn soon enough, given their desperation to marry me off.’

He had told the head of the family that if this woman could prove herself by learning the business, only then would he consider marrying her.

Otherwise, he would refuse to marry anyone—Thalia included.

It was a strategic ultimatum, placing pressure on the household.

This forced the butler and other key members to act strictly and ensure Thalia was trained, even if it had to be done against her will.

So, for the family head—who wanted a daughter-in-law—he got one, but with terms and conditions.

This, in turn, served another hidden goal for Cruxius: to force Thalia into taking interest in the family affairs and learning everything the hard way.

A plan to kill two birds with one stone.

Moreover, Cruxius had calculated that this ultimatum would put the family head in a tight spot.

Since he claimed he wouldn’t marry anyone if Thalia failed, the family head wouldn’t want to risk everything on a single uncertain prospect.

To avoid wasted efforts, he would likely continue sending other potential wives as backup—playing it safe on all fronts.

"Did you find the train?" Cruxius inquired about the train he had asked Darithi to investigate, given his plan to use it against the boiling tension between the Hero Association and the Villain Syndicate.

"Yes. Whenever you order, we may commence," Darithi replied, giving the latest update based on the file she had been processing throughout the night. She had finally secured the necessary resources.

She had fully arranged for the train to pass through the nearest station around the unknown headquarters of the Villain Syndicate in Zone 7, which was a vast stretch of land lying near the tracks.

"Fine then. Make an official announcement through the Blac family’s channels regarding the items on the train. It will depart in five hours," Cruxius ordered without hesitation, knowing he had to make efficient use of time rather than delay, given the rising tensions with the Hero Association. He was going to use this opportunity.

An opportunity to use the train as bait—with valuable cargo intended to attract villains, especially those in Zone 7.

The likelihood of it being targeted was high, and this would naturally give the Hero Association a clear justification to retaliate.

They would have solid grounds to validate their actions against a faction of the Villain Syndicate.

A justification they could use to persuade shareholders—on both the Hero Association and Villain Syndicate sides—that the attack was necessary to ease the growing tension with the Blac Corporation.

For them, profit was the priority, and they would spin the narrative as a move to maintain goodwill with the powerful Blac Corporation.

Of course, this was all part of an elaborate game being orchestrated by Cruxius.

First, by damaging their reputation, he cornered them into targeting a villain syndicate faction.

He even gave them a valid name by eliminating that faction’s strongest villains. And finally, he would use the Hero Association again—to introduce himself to the world.

But why would shareholders believe the Hero Association’s motives regarding the Blac family?

The answer was simple: him.

"Darithi, spread the news that Eventide, a superhero from the Hero Association, attacked the heir of the Blac Corporation. Use the CCTV footage from that room as proof," Cruxius said, hands casually tucked into his pockets, issuing instructions with ease. He understood that this news would soon put the Hero Association in a tight corner.

A corner where they might find themselves suffocating.

"I understand, Master," Darithi said, instantly dialing a few messages on her phone. The secret division within the Blac Corporation—specifically created to relay orders without needing the direct involvement of the butler or the family head—provided her with a more discreet and effective channel.

And that was exactly what she used. Soon enough, her message would bear fruit in the form of a new narrative spreading across global media.

"By the way, where is Ytrisia?" Cruxius asked, giving her a glance. He noticed Ytrisia was still missing and suspected that the doctor had already relayed the instructions he had given, prompting a predictable reaction.

"As per your orders, Ytrisia was told by the doctor that Seleyena was in a dire state. Without any method to control her hormones and raging lust naturally, she would be in danger of organ failure," Darithi informed him, recalling the doctor’s words.

The doctor had called both of them outside and shared this information—clearly something that must have been pre-instructed by Cruxius himself.

Darithi suspected he had already calculated that the hormonal imbalance could be managed through sedatives, but the doctor’s carefully chosen words had been convincing enough.

Ytrisia, though she initially tried to argue and offer logical alternatives, was ultimately swayed by the doctor’s conviction.

The result: Ytrisia had left the hospital, realizing that Cruxius was likely being intimate with Seleyena.

"I see," Cruxius said with a calm smile, fully aware that last night, Ytrisia’s mind and her sense of justice had probably clashed.

Her personal principles and their complicated relationship must have collided.

As a hero, it was her duty to save a life.

And last night, Seleyena’s life had been in danger—infected by that supervillain’s ability, leaving her with no option but to rely on a man to stabilize her condition.

And that man turned out to be Ytrisia’s future husband—Cruxius.

So, once again, Cruxius used a sense of justice to target two things through the entire event.

The first was simple: to provide a logical, morally sound explanation to Ytrisia for why he had been intimate with another woman.

By framing it as a life-saving act, he aimed to gradually break down her emotional walls—those of a woman who believed in modesty and lifelong monogamy.

Of course, the effect wouldn’t be instant. But her mind wouldn’t hate him. She wouldn’t consider it cheating—because he did it to save a life.

That single justification would create a small crack in her moral defenses—barriers that otherwise stopped her from accepting his involvement with other women.

That crack would give him a sliver of leverage in the future—something he could exploit at the right moment.

The second objective was deeper: to subtly fracture Ytrisia’s rigid sense of justice.

While she was powerful enough to kill, she only did so when someone was clearly evil in her eyes.

By forcing her to witness a situation where justice clashed with personal emotion—where her future husband had to sleep with another woman to save a life—Cruxius planted conflict in her heart.

A conflict where both love and justice could no longer coexist.

The outcome he desired? That she would begin to realize something:

That before being a symbol of justice, she should first be his woman.

Not just some justice-obsessed girl hesitating to kill a supposedly innocent hero for his sake.
