Chapter 118- Cruxius Plan
Chapter 118: Chapter 118- Cruxius Plan
Darithi answered, and Ytrisia’s breathless but sharp voice came through.
> "The attackers have been suppressed. I handled them myself. No real resistance. But Sugar... she didn’t show after taking away that villain. Did she make it back?"
Darithi looked toward her master.
He said nothing at first—just kept watching the blur of trees rush past the window.
She turned back to the phone. "Come back."
There was a brief pause on the other end.
> "Alright. Returning."
Click.
The call ended.
A few seconds passed in silence before Darithi spoke, her voice low and controlled.
"Sugar betrayed us," she said, then added, "She took Nano. Slipped away after Ytrisia dealt with the enemies. She must’ve waited for the opening."
A smirk tugged at Cruxius’s lips. He was amused—everything was unfolding exactly as he had planned.
"Good."
Darithi tilted her head in confusion. Not understanding but staying focused on her duty, she asked, "Should we pursue her?"
"No." He tapped his finger lightly against the armrest, still staring outside as everything fell into place. "Just leak it. Quietly. The Hero Association’s S-rank superhero, Sugar—joined hands with a supervillain responsible for a million deaths. That’s enough."
"...But that would..." Darithi began softly, the pieces finally clicking into place. She blinked, remembering how her master had ordered both Ytrisia and Sugar to intervene and ’save’ a supervillain.
At the time, she’d thought it might be a test of Ytrisia, who had shown open anger toward the villain.
But Sugar, who strictly followed the Hero Association’s laws? It didn’t make sense.
Unless... he had sent them to watch each other.
Of course, he had. He always did. Just with another layer this time.
Ytrisia was a hammer—unyielding, righteous. But he had been slowly reshaping her view of justice. Forcing her to kill terrorists in Syria.
Showing her that justice could mean killing if it served a greater cause. He had already begun molding her into a weapon of his kind.
If Ytrisia had gotten her hands on Nano, she would’ve executed her without hesitation. Her version of justice—reshaped by him—wouldn’t allow anything less.
But Cruxius had already calculated that outcome.
He knew Nano had memories of her past life. Sugar did too. And when two people with such shared context met—with a common enemy, or rather, a common target: him—they would inevitably form an alliance. Or at least it would appear that way on the surface.
But Sugar would always be the dominant one.
Cruxius understood how Sugar operated. If, in the future, Nano tried to kill thousands again—by hacking drones or unleashing warfare tech—Sugar would act as a restraint.
She would believe she was working against Cruxius, monitoring Nano... but in truth, she was doing exactly what he wanted: guiding Nano, limiting her danger, and keeping her from going too far.
And now, she had done exactly what he wanted.
In essence, his plan targeted all three of them.
Once Ytrisia returned and learned of Sugar’s betrayal, she would begin to harbor hatred for her. In time, she would stop siding with the Hero Association entirely—seeing them as no different from villain syndicates.
Like on the train, she wouldn’t hesitate to fight their heroes again.
Meanwhile, Sugar—thinking she had secured an advantage by taking Nano—would find herself cut off.
Once news of her betrayal spread across the media, she would be isolated from the Hero Association. She would have no one left to rely on... except him.
And Nano, protected by Sugar, would feel free to act as she pleased—without realizing Sugar would stop her from taking any truly dangerous steps.
Like before, during the drone incident.
Slowly, Nano would become harmless to Cruxius... until he reclaimed her.

Mansion of the heir of the Black family, Spain
Seated stiffly on the velvet-lined sofa, Lira’s sharp gaze flicked toward the two women stationed by the door—guards in black suits, eerily silent, ever-watchful.
Her voice cut through the quiet like a blade. "Where is he?"
Neither woman flinched. Neither responded.
The silence only sharpened the edge in Lira’s tone. "I said, where is he?!" she barked, her voice rising with barely contained fury.
From across the room came an unexpected interruption—soft, but pointed. "Don’t disturb me, sister."
Lira’s breath hitched.
At the dining table, a young girl with wavy blonde hair sat with her legs dangling, her expression calm but curt.
A woman—elegant, poised, and far too composed for Lira’s liking—stood beside her, speaking gently, gesturing with faint golden glows at the girl’s fingertips.
"Big sis, can’t you see?" Neuril continued, her eyes focused on the shimmering light forming in her palm. "The auntie’s telling me about my powers."
Lira turned toward her little sister, her heart pounding.
She narrowed her eyes. Cold. Protective. Her fist curled tightly in her lap.
That woman—the so-called "auntie"—wasn’t just some visiting talent scout.
Lira knew her. Not just from this life. But from the memories of her past life. About a woman who possesses the ability to analyze and see other superpowers—one of the headmasters from the Hero Association’s academy.
A woman who was known for her cruelty and collusion with the villains in the future, making it clearly worrisome, but Lira could not portray or even show it on her face or else that woman would realize everything.
And now she was here. Guiding Neuril. Smiling. Pretending to be harmless.
But Lira didn’t interrupt again. She couldn’t.
Because ever since that morning—the van, the black cars, the helpless screaming into silence—Lira had realized one thing: she had no strength.
Not enough to stop anything. Not then. Not if it happened again.
The feeling of being kidnapped, of watching her sister being dragged away, of crying into a void with no one listening—it had shattered something in her.
Neuril needed power.
Even if the source of that training made Lira’s skin crawl.
Still, none of that erased the truth clawing at the back of her mind. The moment she was dragged into that car, she had known.
That he was behind it.
Cruxius.
