My Soul card is a Reaper
Chapter 799 - 799: The world of Irth (part-65)

The sun had long set, and inside the estate's central atrium, Leiza stood in silence, arms folded, watching the moon.

She didn't turn when Azzy entered.

But she spoke. "You know, when I saw those articles on the internet and confirmed their news with the hospital, I thought they merely feigned it because they received enough bribes. But then I saw Orion's little change of attitude toward you. You healed those boys, didn't you?"

Azzy didn't deny it. He walked over to the sideboard and poured himself a drink. "Yes."

"Then I guess you also released the photos anonymously. Sparked the reversal campaign."

Azzy took a sip and nodded. "Yes."

Leiza turned and looked at him finally, "Why didn't you ask me first?"

Azzy met her serious gaze with a steady gaze of his own. "Because I didn't have time. And because it was the right thing to do."

"The right thing?" she echoed in a sharp voice. "Sure, you might have manipulated public perception to protect our son. But what about the accountability? Ever thought about it?"

Azzy set the glass down as he sighed. "I caused this. If not for me, he…"

"Stop blaming yourself for his misdeeds," she snapped, interrupting him. "Orion isn't a kid. He is 17. He is mature enough to understand right and wrong." Stepping closer to him, she continued. "Yes, I did raise a spoiled brat because he was all I had in this world. But still, I made sure that he understood that actions always have either rewards or consequences. And right now, because of your actions, what if he starts thinking that he has his dad cleaning up his mess without even having to face any responsibility?"

He didn't respond right away. After deep silence, he spoke, "Maybe it's because we won't be here much longer."

"Hmm?"

"Sooner or later, we will go back to my world. For that, I need him to trust me, and I need to use every opportunity I have to bond with him."

Leiza's eyes dropped to the floor. "But, this is my home, Rael. I built my life here. I don't know how to start over."

"However, it is also true that I need to return." Azzy put the wine on the table and leaned back. "I have a family up there. I have thousands of citizens who were waiting for me. But if you don't want to leave this world, I can commute from here, every day, like it is work. 12 hours there, and 12 hours here…"

"Rael…" Leiza looked at him, her eyes widening. "I… uh…" Her head hung down as she quietly said. "You are cruel. Always turn the situation to your favor."

"You don't have to feel like I'm sacrificing or something. You can think of it as I'm going to the office every day." Azzy got up and walked to her. Grabbing her hands, he smiled in assurance. "Also, you raised Orion, my love. You had every right to decide his future. If you wish him to stay here as a normal person, I'll destroy his divinity."

"sigh… I don't know… It's tough for me to see you leave again, and I can't spend my entire day in anxiety over whether you will return or not. Wherever you go, I will follow. And I don't want to rob Orion's future. He should be the one to decide it." Taking a deep breath, she said at last. "Give me six months, Rael. I'll sort out everything here."

Azzy hugged her with a smile and whispered in a hushed tone. "Thank you. And by the way, if you want to liquidate your assets, convert all of them into weapons instead of rare minerals. My world doesn't have those laser and plasma weapons. If possible, buy bigger ones too, whether legally or illegally. With those as a base, you can instantly earn billions, and through that capital, you can restart your company, except that in my world, there won't be any rivals. You can monopolize the entire market of Artificial technology."

"Hmm… that seems like a nice plan… but it's fine. I don't need money. As long as I have you and Orion, I'll be content…" Leiza said, motioning back to look at him with a smile.

Azzy couldn't help but smile and leaned toward her face. "Love you…" He kissed her. And soon, they passionately started making out once again.

Evening draped itself across the sky like a velvet shawl, cool and quiet, broken only by the humming of the mansion's robotic staff as they moved through routine cleaning.

Azzy had just returned from his meditation in the inner garden, his breath slow, steps lighter than the wind. The scent of night jasmine floated faintly in the air.

A soft ding echoed from the gate.

Before the AI steward could announce the visitor, Azzy felt the familiar presence.

Moments later, a human shape stepped through the doorway, hunched with age but dignified, walking cane in hand. He wore a long, faded brown coat, and despite his wrinkles, his eyes were sharp and glimmering like polished stones.

Leiza stepped into the foyer, surprised. "Headmaster Reynold?"

The old man smiled kindly at her, but then, as his gaze fell on Azzy, he immediately dropped to one knee and bowed his head low.

"Angel of Light," Reynold said, voice trembling with reverence. "You grace us once again. I never thought I would meet you again before my death."

The room fell utterly silent.

Azzy looked down at him calmly, narrowing his eyes. He could see a strong aura of death over this person. "You are dying."

"Yes," Reynold said in a whisper, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. "My cancer is at stage 4, Your grace." Taking a look at Azzy, he continued. "All this while, my entire wish was one thing. It was to see you again. I heard about you in the news, but didn't dare to approach you. However, the miracle at the hospital… bones realigned, nerves repaired, not even a scar left behind. There is no medical science in this world that could have done that. That made me think that Your Grace can interfere in the affairs of mortals. It had given me the courage to approach you."

"You want me to save you?" Azzy asked, his eyebrow raised. While the Principal is one of the two people in the end who knew about his divinity, Azzy had no intentions to save a stranger.

But to his surprise, Reynold shook his head. "No, I merely wish to save an unfortunate soul, who was placed in a cryogenic capsule to halt his mysterious illness, until the cure is developed."

"Who was it?" Azzy asked.

Reynold sighed. "My assistant's son. I don't have any children, Your Grace. My assistant was like my son, who looked after me for years. I couldn't bear to see him suffering, like this." He fell to his knees again and bowed. "Please save that boy."

Leiza stepped forward quickly, gesturing to the robotic assistant to bring water. "Mr. Reynold, please stand up. Let's sit down and talk. Come…"

Unseen, a figure stood at the top of the staircase, hidden behind the wall. Orion had been coming down to grab a snack, but froze when he heard the words.

"Angel of Light?"

"Mortals?"

His brows drew together. "What the hell is that old man talking about?"
