Chapter 107: Daddy will be back shortly
Hua Jing was in a wonderland.
This place, this moment—this was heaven.
Soft music played in the background, the scent of incense and fragrant flowers filling the air, blending perfectly with the sweet aroma of wine. The dim golden lanterns cast a warm, intimate glow across the room, illuminating the figures of beautiful flower ladies draped in flowing silks.
Hua Jing was sprawled on a luxurious cushion, completely surrounded.
Soft hands brushed against her arms, her legs, her face—
Her entire face was now covered in bright red kiss marks, smudged unevenly across her cheeks, her forehead, even the tip of her nose. Lip prints of every shape and size decorated her skin, like the marks of victory left behind after a battle fought with wine and laughter.
One woman, clad in an elegant lavender robe, giggled as she leaned in to press another kiss to Hua Jing’s cheek, her rosy lips puckering.
"Young master, have another drink," another woman cooed, pouring a steady stream of wine into Hua Jing’s already full cup.
The liquid shimmered under the candlelight, dark red and rich, its scent strong and intoxicating.
Hua Jing, in her past life, had trained her alcohol tolerance to the absolute maximum—no matter how much she drank, she would never get drunk.
But this wine...
This wine was different.
It was pure, unlike the diluted ones she had been accustomed to in the modern world. Each sip burned warmly down her throat, warming her from the inside out.
For the first time since she arrived in this world, she felt just a little bit groggy.
And then—
A sharp sensation hit her.
The urge to pee.
It was sudden. Overwhelming. Impossible to ignore.
Hua Jing straightened up, eyes wide as the realization hit her.
No, no, no. This was bad.
She could hold her liquor just fine, but she was not prepared for this.
I need to go. Right now.
One of the flower ladies closest to her had draped herself over Hua Jing’s shoulder, her delicate fingers tracing idle patterns against her sleeve.
Hua Jing grabbed the woman’s hand, pressing it firmly to her chest as she tried to steady herself.
She completely forgot about the tight bindings that Xia Lin had wrapped around her before she left. Her chest was completely flat and firm, making it impossible for anyone to notice that she was, in fact, a woman.
"My beautiful, beautiful flower," Hua Jing drawled, her voice thick with amusement and the faintest trace of wine.
"I’m sorry to disappoint you, but daddy has to go out for a little while. I will be back shortly."
The woman blinked, her long lashes fluttering in confusion.
"Daddy?" she repeated hesitantly, her accent unfamiliar with the strange foreign word.
Hua Jing winced internally.
Damn it. She had completely forgotten that she wasn’t in her own world anymore.
The women here wouldn’t understand random English words.
"I mean—" Hua Jing waved a hand lazily, smoothing over the slip. "I just need to step out for a moment. I won’t be long."
The flower lady pouted but relented, letting her go.
As Hua Jing stumbled to her feet, she could still hear the woman in the background, tilting her head curiously as she tried to mimic her words.
"Daddy?"
Hua Jing groaned inwardly.
This was going to be a problem.
She quickly walked out.
The moment Hua Jing stepped out, she swayed slightly, still basking in the afterglow of that glorious, much-needed pee.
"Ahhh—" she exhaled, stretching her arms above her head as if she had just ascended to immortality. Relief. Pure, utter relief.
She stumbled forward, her vision still slightly hazy, but at least her head was a little clearer now.
The fresh air helped—or, well, as fresh as air could get in the back of a rowdy brothel.
She adjusted her robes, making sure her moustache was still in place before stepping back toward the main hall.
And then she saw her.
A woman, standing a few feet away, dressed in a soft blue silk robe, her hair pinned up neatly with a single pearl hairpin.
She wasn’t like the others.
While most of the flower ladies here had dramatic, elaborate makeup, this woman’s face was barely touched—just a faint touch of powder, a hint of rouge.
Simple. Elegant. Different.
Even in her drunken state, Hua Jing’s brain immediately registered one thing—
Pretty.
Very, very pretty.
Without thinking, Hua Jing raised a hand and pointed at her.
"How pretty!" she declared.
The woman stiffened.
Across from her, another girl—her maid, judging by the simpler attire—stood close by, watching anxiously. The girl clutched the hem of her sleeves, looking around nervously as if she shouldn’t be here.
Suspicious.
Hua Jing’s interest piqued instantly.
The beautiful woman and her nervous maid whispered in hushed voices, making it obvious they were trying not to be noticed.
Naturally, Hua Jing noticed everything.
She tilted her head, pretending to be casual as she slowly, carefully, very discreetly—
Followed them like a curious idiot.
The maid’s voice trembled.
"Young Madam, you shouldn’t be here."
Hua Jing’s ears immediately perked up.
Young Madam?
Oh?
A noble lady?
The woman huffed softly, standing her ground.
"No, I should be here." She lifted her chin with mock confidence. "With this perfect disguise, no one will recognize me."
Hua Jing glanced at her so-called disguise.
It was... literally nothing.
The noble lady had done absolutely nothing to hide her identity.
The same hairstyle, the same clothes—
No effort at all.
Hua Jing had spent thirty minutes perfecting her disguise. This woman? Nothing.
The maid looked ready to cry.
"No, no, no! If the Lord finds out about this, I will be in trouble!"
The noble lady waved her off.
"Have you forgotten? I am the one you serve. If he dares to punish you, I will punish him first."
Hua Jing almost choked.
That was... one way to say ’I’ll protect you.’
The maid still looked worried, but at least a little less panicked.
Meanwhile, the noble lady continued to walk forward, eyes wide with awe, taking in her surroundings with childlike wonder.
She looked like she was seeing the world for the first time.
Hua Jing found herself fascinated.
What exactly was she so mesmerized by?
She followed the woman’s gaze, trying to see what was so damn interesting.
And then—
She saw it.
A slightly raised step in the flooring, almost invisible unless you were looking down.
The noble lady wasn’t looking down.
Hua Jing’s eyes widened.
She could already see the disaster unfolding in slow motion.
Oh, no.
Oh, no, no, no—
"WATCH OUT!"
But it was too late.
The woman’s foot caught the raised step—
And down she went.
Hua Jing moved without thinking, stepping forward just in time to catch her mid-fall.
A perfect save.
The woman landed right in her arms, body pressing against Hua Jing’s steadfast grip.
Hua Jing looked down at her, their faces mere inches apart.
A brief moment of silence.
Then, with a slow smirk, Hua Jing tilted her head slightly and said—
"Watch out, my lady."
