Chapter 375: Chapter 374: Collapse of Belief (Seeking Votes.) Chapter 375: Chapter 374: Collapse of Belief (Seeking Votes.) “Kill!”
Two eagle-like mutant creatures swooped down from the sky, landing next to Valery amidst the turbulent airflow caused by their flapping wings.
They were enormous, covered in brown feathers, and had a pair of bull-like horns on their heads, their sharp eagle eyes watchfully scanning the surroundings.
Matvey’s black hair was tousled by the wind, and because his chest had been pierced by stone, his body was firmly pinned in place.
“Valery!!”
With his fingers stretched out like claws, Matvey’s face twisted, he grimaced at Valery, clear saliva dripping from the corners of his mouth.
Thin wisps of black smoke seeped from his body, the black liquid flowing from his eye sockets was nearly dried up, and Matvey’s breath grew weaker and weaker, yet he still glared at Valery with hatred.
“Didn’t you ask me if I remembered your sister?”
Valery patted the giant eagle beside him, watching with interest as Matvey’s face filled with hatred.
At these words, a flicker passed through Matvey’s entirely black eye sockets.
“I remember she was a cute little girl wearing a yellow dress and carrying a pink backpack,” Valery said with a reflective look on his face.
Hearing Valery’s words, the expression on Matvey’s face softened.
He seemed to envision the small figure before him, smiling sweetly and hugging his legs, calling him ‘brother.’
“That day, because the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear was hungry, I rushed out without taking my wallet, and just as I was about to get off the bus, that cute little girl used her student card to pay for me,” Valery reminisced.
“She was such a kind little girl, clearly scared of me, hardly daring to look at my face, yet she still paid my fare.”
“Matvey, you have a very cute sister.”
At that moment, Matvey’s consciousness slowly faded, but hearing someone praising his sister, his face, full of cracks and wrinkles, still displayed a happy smile.
“So, to thank the little girl, I promised to walk her home. She even sweetly smiled at me and said, ‘Thank you, uncle.’ Did you know, Matvey, it has been over a decade since anyone has thanked me?”
Watching the happy expression on Matvey’s face, Valery’s lips curled into a cruel smile.
“The road to your home was very secluded, surrounded by old houses, and that’s where I released the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear.”
“When the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear appeared, the little girl was so frightened that she trembled all over, sat on the ground, and didn’t dare to move. She cried and kept calling out: ‘ge ge.’ I remember it was this sound.”
“Was she calling for you, Matvey?”
These words stabbed into Matvey’s heart like a dagger, shattering all his beautiful memories. He seemed to see the small figure, incapacitated on the ground under the shadow of the giant bear, wiping her tears and calling for her brother.
“Ah–”
Matvey’s face contorted, emitting an inhuman scream.
“It’s painful, isn’t it, Matvey?”
The smile on Valery’s face grew broader as if he immensely enjoyed the feeling.
“Back then, your sister was just like this. I first told her it was a joke, then I even let her touch the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear.”
“When she, bursting into laughter, reached out to touch the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear, it bit off her arm in one bite. Her expression was just like yours right now, truly delicious,” Valery commented, his face showing an enraptured expression as he looked upward.
“I’ll kill you!! Valery!! I’ll kill you!!”
Unmoved, Valery, while speaking, walked toward Matvey: “I didn’t let the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear kill her immediately; first, it was the arm and then the legs, slowly devouring her… It was the gentlest meal the Bloodthirsty Explosive Bear ever had.”
“She stared wide-eyed at the sky, still shouting ‘ge ge’ from her mouth”
“Kill you! I’ll kill you!”
Matvey, impaled on the stone spike, struggled continuously, employing all his strength to lift his right hand and reach for Valery.
“Kill me?” Valery grabbed Matvey’s hair, leaned slightly to whisper in his ear: “What will you kill me with, you’re just trash, acting as a dog for someone who killed your sister, Matvey, you’re just trash.”
Matvey’s expression froze instantly, his mind recalling everything from over the years.
Memories in his mind switched back and forth, alternating between him doing everything he could to climb the ranks and seeing his sister covered in blood, asking him why he did not avenge her.
The words shattered everything he had stood by over the years.
His beliefs collapsed along with them.
The sharp fingers touching Valery’s forehead could not thrust any further, his mouth continually murmuring, ‘I am trash.’
One drop.
Two drops.
Black liquid flowed out once again, his eye sockets, and mouth all turned into dark voids.
More and more black smoke twisted and spiraled above Snow Valley, withdrawing from his body.
Valery felt the fingers pressed against his forehead slowly slipping, his face expressionless. He casually let go of Matvey’s hair as if he was discarding a bag of useless trash.
He did enjoy toying with people’s emotions before killing them, but it became boring when the person did not react.
As for whether those just mentioned were really Matvey’s sister, who knows?
“Brown Feathered Vulture, finish him.”
“Execute!”
“Deer, Vine Strangulation!”
Just then, several vines burst through the soil and fiercely lashed towards Valery.
Valery’s expression changed. He quickly stepped back as the Brown Feathered Vulture behind him suddenly spread its wings, knocking several vines away.
Meanwhile, two vines wrapped around Matvey’s body, swiftly carrying him behind Shao Zifeng.
Shao Zifeng glanced at him, “Deer.”
“Yes!”
The deer nodded, stars twinkling in its eyes, and giant, illusory antlers appeared on its head, blooming with white flowers.
The petals fell, rendering a beautiful scene.
Swish, swish, swish.
Seeds shot out from the flowers, wrapping around Matvey, Fire Phoenix Pheasant, Emperor Penguin, and the scientific team with ethereal vines, continuously healing their wounds.
With the augmenting power of the Life Seed, the surroundings battles became even more intense.
However, Shao Zifeng was not in the mood to pay attention to them. He frowned, staring fixedly at Valery and the swirling black mist that refused to dissipate behind him.
In the peripheral light, dots revolved, yet they never showed any screen template.
“Boy, I was about to come looking for you, but you brought yourself to my doorstep,” Valery stood on the mountain peak, his gaze greedily fixing on Shao Zifeng.
As his voice fell, two loud eagle cries echoed through the valley.
Shao Zifeng felt as if he had been targeted. His gaze moved from the black mist and looked towards the two gigantic eagles behind Valery.
Rather than eagles, they looked more like vultures, with bald heads bearing two downward-curved horns that looped past the eyes, pointing straight ahead.
The long necks were featherless, and the bodies were tremendously large.
Even with their necks tucked in, they stood taller than Valery, who was over two meters tall.
In the peripheral light, blue dots revolved.
