If it wasn’t for my Fog Crow Vision, I would have been fooled by you.
Indeed, the prettier the woman, the better she is at deception,
but don’t think about hoodwinking me, the most innocently pure in the Beast Master Realm.
Gary Smith muttered in his heart, turning to look at the young girl who was enjoying the massaging of his right hand surrounded by a soft circle, like snow capping on a blue mountain.
However, that’s not the point. He was intrigued - why would Evelyn Walker and Ten-Crowned King Bob Chandler come to explore the secret realm of the Wild Ant Tomb?
He didn’t know that they were at the Black Market earlier, but was amazed by the images transmitted by the Fog Crow.
Neither of them were Silver Beast Tamers yet they dared to venture into the Wilderness, face Limb Demons head-on, and even start a provocation. Is this fearlessness of a newborn?
Yet, he was originally set out to kill the Limb Demon, and on account of being classmates, he prepared to silently take action. But Evelyn Walker’s performance took him by surprise.
This usually shy young girl was oddly calm in battle.
She didn’t even summon a pet beast, but with just her bow and arrow, toyed with the Limb Demons at will. It was only a matter of time before she killed them one by one.
Not because this golden shortbow is some top-tier divine weapon.
Gary Smith had seen this thing at the Dark Moon Commerce Guild. It’s called the Element Bow, a standard secret weapon that concentrates elite class elemental arrows by consuming spiritual power, priced around 1.5 million.
Its power is impressive, and it allows a Red Copper Stage beastmaster to have a Silver Mid-level battle power. But using it properly isn’t so easy.
It requires strong spirit energy, a calm demeanor, extremely high archery talent, and precise computational power.
Otherwise, the stronger the treasure, the higher the consumption. If you shoot randomly, you will collapse from exhaustion before you even defeat your opponent.
Evelyn Walker’s battle performance was close to perfect. She took into account all external factors, even predicting the falling trajectory of the beehive. It was almost like she could see into the future.
"Maybe it’s not that she didn’t summon a pet beast."
Gary Smith realized that he had almost fallen into a cognitive trap, committing an empirical error.
After all, in this Beast Master world dominated by spiritual power, not all beastmasters are physical. Some beasts can possess and fuse with a beastmaster’s body organs, empowering them with extraordinary power for personal combat.
The most famous ones are some Magical Art Mystic Beasts, which merge into the body. For example, a rare Magical Art Mystic Beast - the Eye Sword Spell Spirit, can move into a beastmaster’s eyes, transforming into an eye sword curse, and kill an opponent through a glance.
Truly killing a person with just a stare!
Also, there’s a power system beast known as the Bizarre Strength Arm. It has no physical form, but it can make a beastmaster’s hands swell up like a giant’s arms. It gives incomparable tremendous force, just like a child driving a big vehicle, easily uprooting anything far exceeding its size, and tossing it randomly, causing a violent shock.
However, because the Eye of Truth needs to see to activate, otherwise Gary Smith could only guess Evelyn Walker’s Beast or Beastmaster talent. It probably has something to do with Divination, intelligence, and super vision abilities.
But this cool and calm girl in a battle also acts weak and pitiful in front of him.
Thinking about the letter when they first met, could it be that so-called love makes people naive...
As Gary Smith was deep in thought, Bob Chandler spotted his "lifelong enemy", initially taken aback before he came to a halt.
"Hoo hoo!"
The Copper-armored Baboon, seeing Bob Chandler suddenly stopping and looking at the few approaching Limb Demons, couldn’t help urging its master to run. Otherwise, they would be minced into meat patties!
However, Bob Chandler stood still, with a placid expression, he turned to face the Limb Demons with his hand on his back. He spoke towards Gary Smith with his back turned:
"Gary Smith, you’ve come at just the right time. You should lead Cousin away first. These ugly creatures, leave it to the Copper-armored Baboon and I to clean up after we’re done warming up. It’s been a while since we experienced such a thrilling battle..."
The Copper-armored Baboon beside him was left with a baffled expression:
"???"
Who warmed up? Weren’t we running for our lives?
And clearing up...
We can’t even beat one, let alone several. I was sent flying with one slap. If we confront so many Limb Demons at once, won’t we be smashed to pieces?
With that potential outcome in mind, the Copper-armored Baboon couldn’t help but shiver. It was still a child, had not married the female baboon next door, and certainly didn’t wish to die young.
"Hoo hoo..."
How about asking Cousin for help?
It took one look at its master, who was shooting pleading looks in its direction, and then at Gary Smith in the distance. It instantly understood.
This is about not losing face in front of his rival...
And so, sacrificing me to face those plump and robust monsters?
The feeling was akin to a victim forcing a childhood sweetheart to enter a room with three fat nerds who always bullied him...
I’ll definitely break from the trauma!
"Don’t panic, I have a plan!"
Bob Chandler was not an idiot who disregarded his life. With his current abilities, even if he couldn’t win, delaying time shouldn’t be a problem.
He could wait for Gary Smith and the others to leave and then make a run for it.
He would save face and save his skin.
We’re winning big time!
Although the plan sounded fine to the Copper-armored Baboon, something felt off. After some hesitation, it finally relented under the pleading gaze of its master and chose to turn around.
With an expression of pathetic resignation, it looked at the several ferocious Limb Demons.
If I can survive this time, I’ll confess my feelings to the three female baboons next door, and tell them, ’You all are my wings.’
