Chapter 256: Chapter 122: The Succubus Club President’s Generosity, Crushing the Cult of Evil God (Request for monthly pass)_4
Surrounding it were ten small, skeletal wolfhounds, their skull shaped heads burning with a ghostly green fire, emanating a hungry predatorial desire.
On the back of this Corpse-Eating Dog King stood a middle-aged man, donned in the robes of the Netherworld Sect and holding a skeletal staff. His gaze was filled with hatred towards the village.
"It’s over... even if we call for help now, it would be too late."
"How have they arrived so quickly?"
"Somebody, please save me, I don’t want to die..."
"..."
At this moment, all villagers and the village chief alike, seemed to see the arrival of the Death God.
A high-ranking golden Priest from the Netherworld Sect!
Not something they could match up to. Although Gary Smith was a genius, his past battles indicated him at par with Meteor Star High School teachers, merely at a gold level.
This wasn’t some organized arena fight, it was a slaughter in the wilderness. The news of the previous battle had just spread online and still hadn’t become a sensation.
So, to them, it seemed as if only moments ago, Gary had the capability to lead them to safety, but now, his own safety was uncertain.
With a bitter smile, the village chief said, "I’m sorry, I’ve put you in harm’s way. You’d better run..."
"No need to run, you’re all going to die here!"
From the Netherworld Sect Priest, a tranquil voice projected as he gloated over the terrified villagers.
"You’ve really served me a grand feast. Hundreds of fresh corpses from a single village, and the future genius of Abyss City.
I was yearning for the power of the tower, but it was out of reach. I didn’t expect you to offer yourself so willingly. Now I can transform the dragon-type pet and that mysterious power ant beast you’ve acquired into undead puppets. The thought of a dragon-type undead puppet is truly exciting..."
Gary raised his head, responding with a nonchalant tone, "Do all you villains love to talk this much?"
The Priest from Netherworld Sect paused at the disillusioned rebuke but wasn’t angered, he chuckled, saying,
"Perhaps, it’s the victor’s kindness, letting you live a little longer."
However, the village chief turned pale as if he realized something, anxiously reminding him, "He’s just biding his time! The Dog King is getting accustomed to your scent, even though your space-type pet could teleport, it won’t be enough. Once they’ve got your scent, it’s over."
This world wasn’t full of stupid villains, each trickier and more cunning than the other, slippery as an eel.
A battle of words was also part of the strategy.
"Well done! Unfortunately, it’s too late. My doggy has got the scent of this genius boy. No escape now. Taking off your head will fill the Alliance with despair and will win me great rewards from the sect. As for this woman..."
The Netherworld Sect Priest looked admiringly at her beauty, musing,
"True to her tales, in every genius’s story, challenging one’s limits becomes as natural as eating and drinking, and a beautiful woman for company. To humiliate her in front of you will be an interesting experience. Unfortunately, I only fancy beautiful bones, my love is confined to the endless Netherworld soil. But she does make a good merchandise for those pleasure-seeking bastards, possibly worth a great deal of money..."
As he rambled on, eagerly expecting to see expressions of fear and panic on Gary’s face, to his surprise, both Gary and Dream of the Crimson Moon stood unfazed as if they were listening to a dog’s bark.
Gary blandly said, "Are you done? Now it’s time for you to die!"
"That should be my line!"
The Netherworld Sect Priest had lost interest in conversation, impatiently waiting for his rewards. So, he gave the command,
"Attack!"
But to his surprise, all of the Netherworld Sect members ignored him and stood frozen in place.
Before he could question them, they unexpectedly raised their hands, forcefully grasped their own heads and began twisting to the left. Their hoods fell due to the vigorous motion, revealing their terror-stricken expressions.
The Netherworld Sect Priest demanded angrily, "What do you think you’re doing!?"
"We don’t know either, we don’t have control... No, don’t... Ahhh!"
They screamed in anguish, tears streaming down their faces as they watched their own hands twist their neck with crunching sounds of snapping bones.
Crack!
With a chorus of sounds, everyone’s necks snapped in unison, they died instantly, the Nether Flame Wolfhounds beneath them severely injured due to the death of their contract holders.
Swiftly, they were impaled by piercing spider silk long spears, pinning them to the ground, before they could even howl in agony.
Everyone was astounded by this scene, as if they were watching a bizarre sacrificial ceremony of the Cult of Evil God.
And the root cause seemed to be the nonchalant comment from Gary Smith.
His words seemed to be a death sentence, dealing out inevitable deaths.
Is this guy, the incarnation of the Death God?
Fear crept into the hearts of the villagers. They couldn’t help but retreat a few steps, with only awe left in their eyes for Gary.
The village chief was trembling uncontrollably.
The Netherworld Sect Priest, snapping out of his stupor, was enraged at the loss of his elite subordinates, cultivated with great effort, his influence within the sect reduced in a blink.
His cold gaze locked onto Gary as he demanded,
"What the hell did you do?"
With a smirk, Gary retorted, "Why don’t you guess?"
"I’ll kill you, you little..."
Just as the furious Priest of Netherworld Sect ordered the Corpse-Eating Dog King to attack, he realized he couldn’t move anymore, his hands involuntarily rising to his head.
