Chapter 126: Chapter 88: Mousie’s Evolutionary Secret Food! The Potential of Mythical Creatures! (Subscription and monthly ticket requested) _2
From a distance, it looked like a battlefield drenched in fresh blood.
However, today, in both the process of entering the secret realm of the Wild Ant Tomb and in the Bloody Gobi Beach, there were no traces of this swarm of Red Fire Ants.
It’s important to know that as the Tool Ants that are bred by the ant nest, they don’t possess high intelligence and know only to gather food and bring it back to their mother nest. Even if they are often preyed upon by other predators in the process, it does not stop them.
Even if some die, new Red Fire Ants would continue to fill their place, until the predators are fed and give up the hunt on their own. The remaining Red Fire Ants would take away the food that their fellows did not bring back.
Of course, the caveat is, one should never get in the way of a mass of Red Fire Ants, or it would mean suicide.
They don’t even fear death, how could they be scared off by an altar?
Even if the Limb Demon Leader wiped out a nest of Red Fire Ants, but...
Could he exterminate all the millions of Red Fire Ants scattered throughout the secret realm of the Wild Ant Tomb?
As long as there’s the attraction of blood and flesh, Red Fire Ants would definitely come.
This kind of silence, on the contrary, is the greatest anomaly.
Thinking about the disappearance of his motorcycle...
At this point, a guess emerged in Gary Smith’s mind, and he directly told Little Spider:
"Send out the Blood Erosion Worms, let’s check the situation in the Ant Tower Plains."
The Ant Tower Plains received its name due to the numerous nests of Red Fire Ants. Since the ant nests are decorated with holes for ants to enter and exit, it resembles a religious tower, and it continues to grow as more and more things are moved in by the Worker Ants, therefore it’s known as the Ant Tower.
While the Blood Erosion Worms may not be a speedy means of scouting, they are nevertheless extremely effective for long distant reconnaissance as compared to the limited distance of the Fog Crow.
Little Spider nodded its head, a Void Rift opened up, and five streams of blood-red lights flew out. Compared to previous ones, they looked more smooth, apparently, their meals had improved.
About ten minutes later, the Blood Erosion Worms had returned. The information they brought back was shocking, which surprised Little Spider.
All the Ant Towers were empty!
The Red Fire Ants were gone!
"Cultivator, what on earth happened?" Mousie also felt something was amiss.
Without answering Gary’s surprised expression, he sneered:
"I have already found the thief, and they are about to pay a steep price!"
"Really!" Mousie exclaimed in surprise.
Can we get back our Red Rabbit?
Gary Smith nodded, then he picked out a path through the packed dark red traces on the ground that led to the deep parts of the Ghostly Rock Forest.
After passing through many stone pillars and heading west for a good ten minutes, he arrived at a large basin. What caught his eye was not the yellow sand and rocks, but...
Scalding flames engulfing the ground!
Countless Red Fire Ants were congregating together. The fist-sized ants filled the entire basin. At the half-height of the basin stood a gigantic red ant tower that was aflame like a pillar of fire. It diffused a searing heat that caused the earth to become charred and cracked.
A multitude of Red Fire Ants were busy ferrying chunks of soil. They rushed into the flames which were drastically hotter than the temperature their bodies could withstand. The soil blocks would crack under the intense heat, revealing the iron ore within which had started to melt into molten iron.
Pop! Pop! Pop!
In this process, many Red Fire Ants got incinerated as they could not bear the temperature that far exceeded their bodily heat resistance. Dark red body fluids oozed out from these ants, adding fuel to the flames, raising the temperature further. Consequently, more soldier ants died - the flames soared, gradually changing to a purplish-blue hue.
Batch after batch of Red Fire Ants would charge into the fire in a sequence, showing no hesitation, revealing a kind of barbaric order of civilization.
All these incidents began because of that mammoth ant, a foot high, resting next to the pillar of fire. Its body was completely red, its lower half bloated to the size of four to five times its own, lying there like a small hill.
"For all these years, no one discovered that a Spiritual Metamorphosis Level Red Fire Ant Queen was born within the secret realm of the Wild Ant Tomb, and that it even managed to subdue every Red Fire Ant colony!"
Gary Smith commented while glancing around, quickly locating his motorcycle amongst a pile of iron ore which is thrown haphazardly on the ground, facing the risk of being scorched into molten iron.
"Cultivator, there’s the Red Rabbit. Let’s hurry and retrieve it, otherwise, they’re going to burn it..." Before Mousie could finish his sentence through psychic perception, excited and agitated, Gary Smith quickly covered its mouth because it was making too much noise.
Gary looked at Mousie’s big, shiny eyes, and said in a profound tone:
"Is it enough to just take it back? Have you forgotten what we said about making them pay double the price?"
"What else could we do?"
A question mark formed out of shadows over Mousie’s head.
Could it be that the cultivator is planning to take revenge on these Red Fire Ants?
But how could that be possible? Let alone the tens of thousands of Red Fire Ants, they could easily become a terrifying ant tide that scorches the earth within minutes if enraged.
And there’s also a Spiritual Metamorphosis Level Red Fire Ant Queen, it could kill them just by slapping them with its palm!
Could the cultivator have lost his mind out of anger?
Mousie hurriedly started giving a pep talk to the cultivator through psychic perception, saying things like backing off leads to boundless horizons, the world is full of beauty, that the cultivator shouldn’t act so recklessly and so on...
The small spider, holding its spider silk longsword, stayed silent and looked peacefully at the ant swarm that was akin to a sea of fire, not caring if the enemy was one, ten thousand or even more...
Because it would always stand in front of its master!
